CSE-- Pg. 74 SATAN'S HAMMER, Ch.18, pg.160 "Goodnight Sweetheart" epilogue

:woohoo:Also finally caught up! First off happy belated bday smidgy!
Nebo I am just so sad for you on this trip. Just one thing after another.
Loved ponzi's pick in the stroller at EPCOT much better than the "Swiss Miss Nebo" earlier in the TR.
So now that we have finished off with two oldest kids getting married off, fining out that our first grandchild will be a girl (named Scarlett) I can be a proper follower and try not to get too far behind so I can take time to smell the roses and really enjoy the breakdowns that make this so much fun. (notice i left the vomit thing alone just couldn't "come up with anything" woth saying about it)

Well my friend, I'm so glad you caught back up, but I have a problem now,,, I"ve used all the male names I can think of that started with an M, so, you know what that means since you won't tell us your M name?

I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, before you call me that, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk? (connection?)

Actually, I've been thinking that MacBrew should be the one to be making the guesses. Should be much easier from his part of the world...

Dark Warrior from the Mountain Swamp...

Glad to see QueenB is on the same schedule as me!

Just marking my spot, so I don't accidentally read the last installment.

I am like 7 pages behind!

My boys did it! They are going to the World Series! What a great series sweeping the Yankees like that and finishing it at home.

Hope to catch up over the weekend, or if I get my planning done early, HA!

Maybe I can read some tonight.

mony, I was watching the game at the VFW.. and rooting for you!!! yay! I am a white sox fan.. but. I would rather see the tigers take it than the yankees!

esp since I LOVE MONY MONY!:rotfl:

Well done, one more series to go, but they look unbeatable right now.

Just marking my spot, so I don't accidentally read the last installment.

You know, most people mark their spot so they can CONTINUE to read what they were reading, not to make sure they AVOID having to read something they don't want to.
Geesh!

esp since I LOVE MONY MONY!:rotfl:

Something maybe I should know about?

Warning, chapter 14 is incoming!

Just wondering:
If nobody cares when Jimmy cracks corn, why did
they make a song out of it?

And I have no idea who wrote it, but geesh, " the cow jumped over the moon. The little dog laughed to see such fun while the dish ran away with the spoon?"
Wow, what kind of acid drugs were involved here, and how in the world did this ever get published?
And don't get me started on how Horses can be in charge of repairing people or things that fall off of walls, I've never met a horse yet with "opposable hooves."

Yeah, and if anybody cares and missed the answer to what was the line that should have been used after Jeremy swallowed the Buffalo Head nickel, it was,
"This too shall pass."

Here' s where Buzz buzzes in with "Oh, Mr. Crankypants is back!"

Where were we?

It's a Small World, right? Yeah, that's it.

Still Thursday morning, but no, EMH is long passsed away. :sad2::sad1:
But even though I had been stressing that we need to leave ASAP for EMH at MK, our SOP had us DOA or more appropriately, SOL that morning, IMHO.
They were not going to be rushed.

Before we did Phil's Magic, we had gotten fasties for Peter's Flight, so after we watched Donald chase the hat and then Small World, it was almost time for the passes to be up.
With a little bit of thought, you can make fasties work for you without too much trouble, at least on the normal demanded rides, no, not much you can do with Toy Story;
Get a fastpass, ride it, hang around for a little bit and use the fastpass, and then you are pretty much done. Yeah, you can get another pass probably before 11, but who knows when it will be good for?

So, with us now finishing up Small Woild, (Chicago version) I could tell that my morning here was pretty much coming to an end.

And the killer now was;
Todd said he didn't want to waste any time now,,,,:hyper::bitelip::bitelip:
and wanted passes for Space Mountain again, and looked at Smidgy.

She stepped back as if to get out of his way, and said, "Have at it."
Nope, no way was she doing the Space Mountain 2K run again.
So he ran while we waited.

I stood there looking around, and to be honest, I'm really getting tired of looking at all the construction walls blocking off the new area, it's not just that it's ugly, it's confining also, and seems like they have been working on it for 5 years now.

He got there at the fastpass machines right about the time we could get new ones, I wondered what would happen if he got there too soon and he was denied:
I pictured him running all the way back to tell us he couldn't get any, and then us telling him,,, ah, but NOW you can, and him turning around,,,,,,:lmao:

How can you not like Festival of the Lion King, or even more importantly, Finding Nemo, the Musical?
This would have been Disney PAYBACK!
OH,,, what could have been!

As Kor the Klingon said to Captain Kirk:
It would have been glorious!

Instead, using our passes we just skipped on over to Peter Pan and were on in a jiff.
:sad2:
There Ponzi, I posted the sad smiley for you.

It was right about now I'm pretty sure, that we were pretty much done with them today at the park.

They want to do Splash and BTMR again, and probably again and again.

And again, along with Space Mountain, all things there is NO way I'm going to try to do with a fat head. I suggested a couple of the more sedate attractions they hadn't seen yet, like Hall of Precedents, which I knew wouldn't be taken seriously, but hey, maybe Tiki Birds, or Country Bears?
Casserole of Progress?

Nope, nope and nope, so fine, have fun, I can't do the other stuff and I told Diane she can stay with them if she wants, but I'm not doing the sidewalk crouch all day in wait, I love Jackson, however I'm not going to see much of him or talk to him while we are here, so what's the point? but she chose to come with me instead.

And for the first time, she was looking forward to a split stay today, unlike me, she hasn't had any pool time over here at Pop, but first we went over to Sleepy Hollow and got a funnel cake and a new freezy thing they have now.

No, not a slushy, not sure what it was, but it wasn't something you need to get again, once was enough, but the funnel cake was good as always. It's amazing what they are doing with fried air nowadays. :rotfl:
It's also perfect for splitting, I can't see eating a whole one by yourself, it does get boring after a while.

Before we headed on out though, I really wanted to see just where it was that I went down, it's still all a big blur to me.

Well, it was to Smidgy for some reason too, we just couldn't pin it down exactly where the spot was like I wanted to.

The main problem was, I KNEW there was a pole just on my left that I tried to grab at the last second, but the only pole I could find that fit the bill seemed too far away.
And even the cop said he was looking right at me from inside, I thought I was much closer to the building.

I don't know, maybe there wasn't a pole there in the first place to save me anyway, it's possible my brain as it was blacking out was thinking of the umbrella pole at the resort pools when I also got dizzy.
:confused3

On our way back home, it was only about 11;30, and, wouldn't you know it, it starts raining.

Thankfully it didn't last long, and we still changed and went down to my pool.

You know, The Hippy Dippy Pool.

My pool.

The Nebo Memorial Hippy Dippy Pool.

The very pool that I had one of my very first Migraine headache attacks back in '02, when I didn't know I got migraine headaches. Remember that in the first report?
I thought I was having a stroke! Instead it was a migraine with an aura.

The very pool where I snuck and turned off the pool cleaners Harley when he wasn't looking, and blamed it on Smidgy. (2nd report)
Where I was almost crushed in the elevator coming down to the pool by Killdozer, same report.

Hey, if you're going to play......

So here I am again.
And;

Again.

I was hoping to get to introduce her ot Adam from St. Charles.

But Smidgy didn't take the table I had been taking every day, she took the one next to it!

What? But, but.....

Without thinking I almost countered this choice, but then I thought to myself, "Oh, you freelance, madcap, impetuous, go with the flow, live life on the edge party animal fool, why not keep the strange table and see what happens?"
(boy, I sound like Frazier Crane, don't I?)

The sun came back out, Smidgy had an Orlando Sentinel asking me birthdays and Jumble words and even though i've been doing this for the last eternity by myself, now, having her with me had made everything right in the world again.
I found myself just staring out over the pool, wishing I could call a "mulligan" and start this trip over, and for the first time in a few days, it didn't seem creepy sitting out here now, it seemed like it was supposed to feel, relaxing.

And I was practicing that right now, trying to get good at it.

Almost kind of staring and the kind of staring that you can't move your eyes, even if you turn your head, your eyes still stay looking at whatever they were looking at.
I always say "My eyes are stuck" when this happens.

Then my lids started to close a bit; slowly, slowly, sound starting to fade out, lovely day, just lovely, per fect weath er just gon na doze a

"HEY! KNOW WHAT I FORGOT TO TELL YOU?"

I jerked up so quickly I almost swallowed my tongue.

"No, I left my omnicient App at home, sorry, but if you can use the de-fibrulator to get my heart started again while you tell me whatever it was you forgot to, I'll be glad to listen."

She then proceeded to tell me a delightfull little anecdote that ocurred at an Animal Kingdom Lodge's elevator.

I wasn't with her at the time, but somehow she was on the elevator by herself, meaning, without me, but not "alone/by yourself" and she was joined by a couple with a young girl with them, it was obvious they were coming straight from the pool, take it,
Smidgy!

"Those three got on with me, and after pushing our respective buttons, we did what everyone does on an elevator, and that is not look at the stranger in the room, except their feet. Then suddenly the silence was broken by the little girl, and I'm not kidding you, this is what came out of her mouth:

"THAT CLEANED MY BUTT REAL GOOD, IT DOESN'T HURT AT ALL ANYMORE!"

I laughed, and you could actually see the faces of both parents change colors to a burning bush red!
Moses himself would have blushed had one of his people said that, unless it was the Burning Butt plague you never hear about.

( I was laughing as she was telling me all this)

Well, little girl could see the color changes this autumn had suddenly brought unto her parents, herself , and had to reply again to make things right:

"Oh, did I say that too loud?"

According to Smidgy, if there had been windows, the dad would have committed suicide by jumping out of one. Well, ok, maybe not suicide, cuz you're not high enough, but "Harmicide" for sure.

Well thank you Smidgy.
Always a lovely input from my wife.

So, who wants to go for a swim?

This is/was, at an expensive deluxe resort, I think I"m going to stick to swimming in my bathtub from now on.

After this she left me alone for awhile.
Leaving me to sit there and wonder;
"Ok, so why did her butt hurt?"
And "How did swimming in the pool help that?"
Oh, and she mentioned it being "cleaned".

Mommy!

I was even able to go back and read,,,, and ENJOY it for a while, even with her interupting me all the time.
I never did see Adam though.

The Yellow Jackets started up as always, only this time, it was like they were doing a rain dance, I could not believe how fast it got dark out.

It hadn't even started raining yet when they closed the pool again due to lightning.

But, again, they don't just close the pool, they close the entire pool deck TOO! This is where you see a difference between the Values and the Moderate resorts.

With all those tables and chairs now taken off line, there's no where to go!

The food court, or your room.
That's it!

Let's compare:
Riverside closes Ol' Man Island pool, CBR closes Old Port Royale pool.

But the Jamaica, Trinadads, Barbados, Martinique, Riverside Bayou pools, and Mansion quiet pools are all lifeguardless,,, hopefully you are smart enough to come out of the water in a thunderstorm,,, but over there you can at least stay at your table, under your umbrellas.

Coronado has places to hang aroung at too. Heck, nothing better than to make a drink in your room in Casitas 3, third floor and go for a walk around the buildings ON THE 3RD floor with your drink during a thunderstorm!
You can go to Buildings 2 and then 1, looking at everything from the lake to all the reflecting pools and fountains and gazebos and gardens and rotundas and courtyards without leaving the 3rd floor. !

Coronado Springs, brought to you by, NEBO.

Anyway,
(aren't you proud of me for not saying, "anyhoo" like folks who right blogs are wont to do?)

Anyhoo,

Oh, CRAP!
I guess at this junture there was no longer a real plan for the evening. I'm feeling better, but I'm not going to overdo it, I'm still holding out hope on getting at least to meet my old long lost buddy again Saturday morning, whom I've never met in the first place yet.

And you know me, I'm the kind of guy that if I don't meet up with Monymony that Saturday morning she'll kill me, and it's almost Thursday night already.

When we couldn't even sit at a table anymore , we tried, they yelled at us, we went back up.
Ok, ok, it was me they yelled at, they don't know her, but ,,oh yeah, they know me by now!

"Nebo, for God's sake, go back up to your room, do you need to get struck by lightening too?"

We changed out of suits, I went for ice.
(yes, some things never change) but I dind't mind, it felt normal, if that makes sense. I kept checking on the pool, no, still closed, but no rain yet either, and I had the feeling that we weren't going to get much, if any, after checking the most reliable weather forecaster I know of, My "Incredible Amazing Weather Foot!"

"Another fine K-Tell product!"

Filled up our mugs, (they're re-fillable, you know), and went over to the Bowling Pin pool, but nope, can't sit there either. Went back to the food court and sat outside along the side at a table just people watching, finishing our drinks.

Still, no rain, and it's looking less and less like it will, but danged if they refuse to open the darn pool up again though, or at least the tables.
There was also about 3 cast members going around and picking up all the abandoned towels off the tables and chairs, so even though we can't go by the pool, I guess cast members are expendable, we must keep it looking neat!

After the drinks were finished, Ok, here's what we do, I suggested to her, while we are here, let's get the mix, and ice, then go back up and finish making the drink with the meat part of it now, and then we'll head on over to the Other pool bar across the pond. It's not dark yet, but I've wanted to see it over there when it was night, all lit up.

Only have a bout a little less than two hours to kill before it's filled with dark out, so back to the room we marched.

Unfortunately, Radiator Springs sprung a leak that night.
Kind of. Got just enough rain over there and lightning to make this plan a folly also.

Whoops again, I keep just rambling on, chapters getting too long and not a quick read. sorry

But for Queen Betsey and Misty Mackenzie, the Cliff notes version will be out next tuesday.

nighty night

Nebo, what is it about spouses talking to you just as you are drifting off? When DH does that to me, I say, "Thanks for the jolt of adrenaline." I suppose I do it to him too, but that's different, because it's not me being robbed of the joys of dreamland.
At least Smidgy's story was funny. She should post it on the funniest overheard stories thread.

Thanks for the update!

It hadn't even started raining yet when they closed the pool again due to lightning.

I hate it when that happens. We had decided to go to the pool even though it looked dark out, we put on our rash guards and everything(not sure why). We went down the slide first. Mom got to the end of the slide and... sighed... and said we had to get out of the pool. She saw lightning on the way down. Sure enough, they went over the loudspeaker telling everyone to clear the pool deck. Except about 5 minutes afterwards it started pouring, so I felt a little better about having my pool time interrupted.

Thanks for the new chapter, Nebo. It's great to hear how pleased you were to have Smidgy back with you again. :thumbsup2

About the little girl in the elevator - I am wondering if there was sand in her suit (from where I do not know) and swimming in the pool allowed her to wash it out. I just do not want to think it was anything else! :rotfl:

great chapter, honey! so happy that you were happy to have my annoying presence with you again!

I'm thinking the kids went on to Blizzard beach that afternoon? and took our car?

unfortunately, about the little girl's butt. I think it was just what it sounded like... little kids don't always wipe so well, and they get "itchy" butt. and mom and dad probably told her she needs to wipe better, and that is why she is "ouchy". after swimming, ouchy went away, and she shared!!!! :lmao:

I can't help but laugh at how you found a way to use Harmicide in your trip report and no Nebo was hurt when using such word. At least it was at the expense of someone else, phew!

All caught up! My biggest fear is you write about Saturday and I'm to busy to notice. I will try harder.

I think I have time to write an update for mine tonight. If you all remember I was writing a TR too, but student teaching is interfering with my social life! I have way too many days between posts.

Long time reader, first time poster here. :coffee: I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your trip reports, Nebo. I feel like I have already met you and smidgy! So many times here at home I have been laughing at something that's happened on one of your trips and my family just looks at me like I'm nuts. Thank you for all the laughs!! This trip also warrants an "I'm so glad you are recovering" to Nebo. Can't wait to hear about the rest of the trip!!

FYI: Diane, you and I share the same birthday, so Happy Belated Birthday to you!. :)

You know, I never thought of posting that over there, I had forgotten all about that thread, thanks

Wasn't that a Spike Lee movie, Pool Girl Interrupted?

You know, since this is still my trip report, facts don't matter here, and I'm going to go with Kath's version of the sore butt, I like that one a lot better. Your version is,,,,EWWW! And now with Halloween coming up and trick or treating I'm now going to be thinking about Reese's Feces Pieces.

I can't help but laugh at how you found a way to use Harmicide in your trip report and no Nebo was hurt when using such word. At least it was at the expense of someone else, phew!

Just curious; Isn't ALL teaching "student" teaching?
I mean, ,Doh!

Well, maybe you are nuts.
But really, glad to see you out of the anemone, and I'm honored, Look everyone, she's been a member for almost 5 years now, and this was her very first post! You never forget your first.
Is she blushing yet?

Uh oh, you are a female, right?
Am I blushing yet? :rotfl:

Nice to meet you Ms Engle, don't be a stranger.

FYI: Diane, you and I share the same birthday, so Happy Belated Birthday to you!. :)

And a happy 14 to you too.

I've seen celebrity bday lists for Oct. 14, and even though I can't come up with any now, it's quite impressive, unlike my bday.

Nobody was born on my bday, Nov. 26. Really, not kidding, no celebrities at all. When they post it in the local paper on that day, Here's who comes up, just one legitimjate celebrity, Tina Turner. Next on the list?

Rich Little.
Yep, that's how pathetic that bday list is for the 26th.
I'm surprised I haven't made the list yet! C'mon, all I have to beat out is Rich Little, who nobody remembers anyway. I mean, how in demand are Richard Nixon impressions nowadays?

Oh, I just thought of another celebrity born on Nov. 26, and I got to recently just meet him.

Monymony's son, and he beat out Rich Little too!

You almost have me sold on Coronado Springs Resort. I have to book something for next April and I can't decide which resort. I like that part, where you can walk around outside on the 3rd floor. Plus my dh loves the resturants over there too. Are you guys going again next Spring?

You remembered my son!

The difference, a very important one with student teaching is that I don't get paid.

I am doing most of what the teacher does, her planning, grading, assessing, teaching, disciplining, hugging, smiling, heck I am even changing diapers, yep,, our kids have the occasional accident, and I don't get paid the whole 12 weeks.

Well nothing I can deposit into the bank. Boogers and poop don't count. I did catch a good cold this year so far.

After Jan 26 and AFTER all my paper work goes through, including the $160.00 check for my teaching certificate, I will be a teacher for hire!

I do however get to walk across the stage on Dec 8th in my cap and gown.princess:

Mony, so excited for you, it has been a long long road, I think I was along for most of it, LOL.

We need the cap and gown pics here for sure.

Nebo and Smidgy back together again! Wait, that seems familiar....

Also, love your new term "fasties" but must admit it sounds, ahem, obscene. Maybe my mind is just in the gutter.
