CSE-- Pg. 74 SATAN'S HAMMER, Ch.18, pg.160 "Goodnight Sweetheart" epilogue

Re: Our Song
I'm all choked up!

Are you all choked up because that is yours and Nebo's song and I ruins it? Or just cuz you're thinking of the song in general? I didn't stop to think that could actually be your song and like it as is (without my input) after your second marriage and all.

It was this song or "Reunited" that I was going to do. I took a chance with this one.

Maybe the same guy who started "coinkeydink."

On an entirely different note, I share a birthday with LeVar Burton and Sonny Bono. So there.

Loved the butt/ pool story. Kids say the darndest things!

And, finally, I am happy to report that after almost a year away from WDW, we are tentatively thinking of going back in late January/ early February. I'm a bit leery because I'm not sure how long I'll have a job (company may be sold to an international conglomerate) and I hate to commit the $$. But then I think, "Well, you'll need some cheering up, right?" Also, despite my better college GPA, DH ended up the bigger breadwinner in the family. (He stayed in engineering school while I transferred to communications. Enough said.) I guess there's always time for the soup kitchen later. :sad2:

If Levar and Sonny are the best your bday can come up with, then yeah, you're down there with me too, Kunta Kinta.
And my motto has always been, take the trip now, tomorrow will take care of itself, whether I want it to or not.
It's a variation of, "Life is short, eat dessert first."
And hey, who cares who makes the most money, it's going in the same account, right?

Reading this part, I knew the perfect song. I didn't change too many words around, I thought the song mostly fit the situation just perfectly. Even the original song (without changing any words) is perfect here.

Open Arms
T_Man Style
(Open Arms originally recorded and performed by: Journey)

Walking beside her
Here in the park
Searching for the scene of the crime
Without a whisper
Lets get out of here,
Back to pool for some piece of mind.
We came here together
We drifted apart
And here you are
by my side

(Chorus)
Smidgy I come to you
With open arms
This feeling inside
Growing more everyday
So here I am
With open arms
Hoping you'll see
What your love means to me
Open arms

Staying without you
Staying alone
This Disney room seems so cold.
Wanting to call you
Wanting you here
While Disney World you went out to roam

But now that were relaxing
By the pool on this day
I need her to stay

(Chorus)

I'm not familiar with that song, but the lyrics are great! Nice translation.

How about:
Charles Schulz. Creator of the "Peanuts" comic.
Art Shell: First African American head football coach in the NFL.
An up and comer actor from the "Poor Bella Series (Twliight Series actually)" Peter Facinelli: Portrays Dr. Cullen in the movies.

See? thank you, I rest my case, although I'll give a half credit to Schulz, and no, I never did like Shell, or anyone with the Raiders.

Wow, ok, true story : Back in the early 80's there was a time we weren't getting along too well, and I went and stayed with a buddy for a couple weeks.
When we patched things up, first thing was Reunited was our theme song, second thiing was we then made Jeremy,
2nd son.
Good ol Peaches and Herb.

See how you are?

Terrific? Amazing? Awesome?

Yeah, I see how I am.

Hey, if you don't have to make sense, neither do I.

Well that's fair I guess.

I propose you dispose of what you composed when you juxtaposed "oppose" in your sentance above. But no, I suppose your past prose shows you wont but who knows?

If I might impose... Do I have to dispose of my prose, or shall I instead transpose my prose to have it metamorphose into grandiose yet bellicose prose to render you comatose?

Actually, we are not far from Smidgy's own "Revenge" type story coming up.

Oh? Looking forward to it.

Really? You have Jiff and Skippy but no Peter Pan up there?

We have Skippy... but only because it bought out Squirrel. For a while there We went from Squirrel PB to "Skippy the Squirrel" PB and finally just Skippy. We also have Kraft PB which is probably the best seller and until a couple of years ago, we also had Jif but it was a distant third to the other two.

So, if I didn't accomplish a comp then nothing was accomplished, right?

Yeah, it's pretty much a fait accompli.

With me, where it get's really embarrassing at times is at a water park when I don't have my glasses on, and I find out that the objecgt I'm trying to not walk into is a woman in a bikini, who does NOT appreciate the close scrutiny I have been unwittingly giving her.

See there you go again! We are the same... well, except for the fact that I can see the woman in the bikini. It's just a coincidence that I happen to be looking at her.

Honest.

for some reason, and old Far Side cartoon popped into my head just now, that always struck me as funny:

A guy standing on a corner wearing sunglasses holding a cup with a dead German Shepherd in front of him and holding a sign that just says, "I am blind and my dog is dead"

Don't think I've seen that one... and I thought I'd seen every Far Side cartoon.

Just Googled it, 'cause it was bugging me. It was a cartoon by Sam Gross, not a Far Side.

You kidding? From what I've seen lately, I've scratched FLORIDA off my swim schedule, Atlantic Ocean included!

Well... yeah. Pick a body of water. Go ahead, I'll wait.

got one? good.

It's either got brain eating amoebas in it, 10 foot gators or man eating sharks.

Pool? Yeah, you heard what that kid said.

Bathtub. Good for you. You've picked the one safe area.

Of course more accidents happen in the tub then anywhere else...
oh, and don't worry about the mold.

Okay, I've just made myself go "erk".

Yeah, amazing how easily annoyed I can be, huh? But who started the stupid "anyhoo" thing anyway?

Owl breeders.

Unfortunately, I can't argue that. But Smidgy came up with a great story, totally true; when the soccer games were cancelled in the middle of a close game suddenly because it was no long safe enough to be playing out on the field due to dangerous lightning, they still had to line up and slap hands and say "good game" before they were allowed to run to life saving shelter!
And if one kid got hit, they were ALL going up in flames!
Ah yes, the joys of being politically correct!
As for me? I was in the car not touching anything metal.

:lmao: I did read that post. That is pretty funny... and dumb!

But they are STILL always called "refillable mugs".
Ok, ok,, we know, we get it. Can we just call them "Mugs" from now on?

Yes we can! From NOW ON we will all refer to them simply as "Mugs". Case closed! Done deal! And no argument. Mugs it is!

ummm... can you still refill them?

Ok, I was going to give you a big AWWW for the first one, but there is no reason to bring up Mantilow.

:sad2:

Just wondering:
If nobody cares when Jimmy cracks corn, why did
they make a song out of it?

The answer, of course, is so wondering why will irritate folks like you and me! What else can you say?

And before I could read your typed words, my brain had already thought and processed that Mr. Crankypants was back in action! ;)

Were you wondering if little buzz had been born? Nope, it was nothing relieving like that. DD decided to share a cold with me that became a sinus and upper respiratory infection for me. Yippee!! See, are you catching the sheer joy in my written tone.....there have been moments, I assure you, in the past few days when I have given Mr. Crankypants a run for his money. I think my lungs and stomach are in the vicinity of my collarbone at this point, so no wonder I have been sick! ;)

So despite being way late, the chapter was good Nebo. I read it to DH a few days ago with the previous chapter and his first words were that he and the kids would leave me and the baby with my parents if there was the slightest possibility that we might miss rope drop or MEMH. We operate under the same philosophy that you and Smidgy use.

It's going to be hard to walk past CHH on future trips and not wonder exactly where your "event" took place.

I would really, really like for you and Smidgy to have a fun, relaxing trip in November, one in which no calamities or "events" befall either one of you. Can you try to do this? Please?

this reminds me of when the boys played soccer and baseball. the game would be called becuase of lightening.. "get them ALL off the field!! chance of lightening!!!""" BWHAAA!!! panic!!

um, but before that. let's line them all up in 2 lines and slap hands and say "good game, good game". now if lightening strikes we got em all in one feell swoop!

I can completely relate to this Smidgy! It's so true about the shaking conductor hands thing, but it's hilarious reading your mention of it! :rotfl2:

Soccer practice is where DH and DS are right now and it's the parents versus kids scrimmage night. The kids love to play the parents and they sound like maniacal giggling hyenas when we struggle! ;)

Pkondz, did you really have to go and list all the dangers in Florida water, including that little girl with her, erm, behind situation? Geesh, I spent most of the WL dock time in May envisioning all the ways I could encounter just the brain eating amoeba, now you have added to my vivid imaginings.

And no way is a bathtub safe for Nebo. I seem to recall some bathtub mischief from a past TR and did you get a look at the pictures posted of how dark the Little Mermaid bathrooms are at AoA? Where Nebo plans to be in April? :sad2:

:lmao: I did read that post. That is pretty funny... and dumb!

And sadly true, but at least non-metal touching Nebo would be around to represent the family line! ;)

Whoa, hey Rozz, boy, sure hope he is doing better. I just now noticed the oxymoron,,, fast food = slow arteries= pain, and lots of it.

rozz, I am SO sorry to hear about hubbys heart attack. gald he is doing better and I will definintely pray for him (and you!)

We appreciate your kind words and prayers! He's doing even better since my last post and started back to work today-which he was both happy and sad about!:rotfl:

I'm glad to be able to spend more time on the DIS now.

Here are some fine examples of what I've been missing.

The education:

I just read this yesterday from a friends fb page: linear equations you can remember y=mx+b

By memorizing:

Your mommas ex boyfriend!

This is for Smidgy.

"Word Origin & History

won't
contraction of will not, first recorded mid-15c. as wynnot, later wonnot (1584) before the modern form emerged 1667. See will.
Online Etymology Dictionary, © 2010 Douglas Harper "

Why? People talked funny back then.

The creative talent:

I write the songs that make the whole Dis sing.
I write the songs of love and special thing's.
I write the songs that make the young girls cry.
I write the songs, I write the songs.

The biblical education:

Job 2:7 So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.
I'm pretty sure this
included the Burning Butt plague. Just sayin'.

The shared sentiments:

It just dawned on me, do you guys have another trip queued up?

I am mega stressed with work and I just don't have the brain power to make any witty comments but trust me when I say your updates and breakdowns are as welcome as a glass of Cabernet and its great to know that both are waiting for me when I get home!

Welcoming new posters:

Long time reader, first time poster here. :coffee: I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your trip reports, Nebo. I feel like I have already met you and smidgy! So many times here at home I have been laughing at something that's happened on one of your trips and my family just looks at me like I'm nuts. Thank you for all the laughs!! This trip also warrants an "I'm so glad you are recovering" to Nebo. Me too! Hope you're doing even better now! Can't wait to hear about the rest of the trip!!

FYI: Diane, you and I share the same birthday, so Happy Belated Birthday to you!. :)

and celebrating fellow DISer's accomplishments, way to go Mony!

Mony, so excited for you, it has been a long long road, I think I was along for most of it, LOL.

We need the cap and gown pics here for sure.

That's too bad. Really. I feel bad for you. So sorry you're not feeling well. Please get well soon.

please don't hurt me.

I think my lungs and stomach are in the vicinity of my collarbone at this point,

Wow, it's amazing what medical science can do these days.

Pkondz, did you really have to go and list all the dangers in Florida water, including that little girl with her, erm, behind situation?

Yes. Yes I did.

Terrific? Amazing? Awesome?

Yeah, I see how I am.

sigh

Well that's fair I guess.

No, I'm pretty sure it landed foul. I don't know, don 't ask.

If I might impose... Do I have to dispose of my prose, or shall I instead transpose my prose to have it metamorphose into grandiose yet bellicose prose to render you comatose?

I like belicose and comatose, those are keepers. And why do we spend so much time designing these stupid sentances?

I just used the operative "answer" word up there, didn't I?

Oh? Looking forward to it.

:yay:Me too!
What?

i wondered after I posted it, I have a book in my toolbox still in the garage with that in it, my second choise was going to be Lampoon.
Who right about the same time came out with the classy section in their magazine, "how to tell a 5 year old his parents are dead." (Grampa, we've been walking around the park ALL day now, with nothing to eat or drink, I just want to go home and,,,,, ok Billy, tell me, would you rather see your folks alive again, or get a nice chocolate sundae with a root beer float?"

I'm sorry.
I should be committed.

Wait, you left out the Box Jellyfish, one of my favorites! It kills 100 times more people every year than sharks do.

Bathtub. Good for you. You've picked the one safe area.

Of course more accidents happen in the tub then anywhere else...

Okay, I've just made myself go "erk".

"Erk" myself, jerk.

Owl breeders.

See? yeah, I come upon that two word combo, and think,,,, He's lost it, what in the world is he talking about? But, wait,,, I'm saying that now, so first time I read that it must have meade sense some how, right? And it did, I had help from Hegewisch and Errol.
Well, ok, the ghost of Hegewich, or however you spell his name, if I reme ber right, he quit playing.

And I just about typed a paragraph almost talking about nothing, when I could have just thrown in a :thumbsup2, after "Owl Breeders."

And I know when I finish up here I'm going to have 15 Buzz postings to deal with, she still thinkd that Microsoft is going to pay her for "Every Post" she makes on Nebo's thread, and I don't have the heart to tell her!
Hang on a sec.......:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Ok, I'm allright now.

heh

Buzz, you know I love you, you tease the ones you love.

hello?

Agreed. He was doing so well, but now we have to take away his MAN ilow card.

Were you wondering if little buzz had been born?
Nope, I told you the little Neblet won't be born until the 22nd,,, of next month.

Me too. I've thought more and more about it, pieceing together the evidence, and I"m sure there really probably wasnt a post to grab for, and I was just squatting a little bit out to the left of the main doors going in. The one cop said he saw me the whole way down form inside.... so,, I had to be near. And when I came to, I saw the sky,,,, and believe it or not,,, the sky looks pretty much the same from MK to Epcot to Moscow.

I would really, really like for you and Smidgy to have a fun, relaxing trip in November, one in which no calamities or "events" befall either one of you. Can you try to do this? Please?

Dee Dee, you silly goose. Of course we'll try, but c'mon, what are the odds of that?

I remeber those games very well.
But I didn't follow the script. since there were 't any real refs doing the game, hey, now way was I running all the way down the field folllowing this speedster winger with the ball. Uh uh, no way.

"Hey, Mr. Nebo Slide Tackeled me!"
"Of course I did, did you really expect me to keep runnig with you to the next county?"

Nebo, I'm surprised you don't know this one. Journey and Steve Perry ringing any bells? I like "Open Arms" quite a bit, but one of my favorite Journey songs is "Faithfully" and I liked the use of "Don't Stop Believing" at the end of The Sopranos.

There was a long period of time that I did not listen to any new music. And when my Sox won the pennant in '05, their theme song was Perry's "Don't stop Believin" ,,,, and yeah, it got old. That song was amazing though, and it's amazing what you can sing when you have your testicles removed!

Did I just say that out loud?

Wow, I was logged in,,, and somewhere it switched on me, so don't blame Smidgy for all the sarcasm in the previous post, but I'm sure you knew that.

OH MAN! Thanks for telling me, I'd have never figured that out. Phew! I feel like a dweeb for missing that one. Ok, mental note, be on my toes over here.:rolleyes2

Hey you can have the football, I will keep the baseball.

Cause I'm nice like that.:p
