CSE-- Pg. 74 SATAN'S HAMMER, Ch.18, pg.160 "Goodnight Sweetheart" epilogue

for some reason, the boys tell me lots of stuff. always did. and after they grew up and had tons more to tell me, I'm like ..I put my fingers in my ears and go LALALA!!!

some things I just don't want to know!

I'm so sorry that you were still feeling so badly. That sounds like one heck of a headache! I'm with Smidgy though, all those pills on an empty stomach would have me vomiting as well.

Perhaps a doctor's visit wouldn't have hurt?

You must have been so disappointed to be missing the Jackson trip. What horrible timing.

"What's the buzz, tell me what's happening, what's the buzz, tell me what's happening""WHY should YOU want to know.. don't you mind about the future...." Jesus SCREAMS out the "why" part... goosebumps....

foryou who don't know this is a line from Jesus Christ Superstar. I think we have seen that rock Opera at least 8 times. love it!

Bless you Smidgy, for illuminating me! I haven't had the opportunity to see Jesus Christ Superstar yet. I have seen Phantom of the Opera performed 4 times, including once at the Majestic Theater on Broadway, which was AMAZING!

I chaperoned my bother's 7th grade band trip to Washington, DC and New York City to see two broadway musicals, Cats, and Phantom of the Opera. It was totally worth it to have a group of 7th grade boys in trade for the broadway musicals. I must add Jesus Christ Superstar to the list.

buzz, if you had been in high school during the 70's (like us) you wouldn't need to see the play.. everyone knew the soundtrack back then. and they came out with the movie, too.. you should see it.

I have never seen this on stage but have owned the album all my life and know every word! The singers in the movie were absolutely incredible <3 GMTA <3

First time ever I wish I did breakdowns!

Nebo that, for me, was one of your best chapters yet. Maybe it was because I was reading it at the bar at Yak and Yeti with a beer and fried green beans (ok, go ahead) but I don't think so. It was just darn good writin'

But not if you went to Catholic School! The nuns told us we would go to H*&L if we saw that!

Ok, as Ronnie Ray Guns used to say, time to get my Veto Pen out and fix a couple things:

I justed wanted to scream this whole update: "Just go see a frigging DOCTER!" Geez!!!. Glad you are still alive after all though

ok, we agree there, I'm kinda glad to still be alive too.

I wasn't at the Poly meet, Nebo.

sorry, I beg to differ. On that late September day on '07, a bunch of you met for dinner at the Kona Cafe, and I am pretty sure you were one of them. Then they all came down to the beach to meet up with the cheaper part of the Dissers, me and Smidgy, Patrick and his wife, Colleen, But even though I was there really ONLY to meet Marita, you took off after dinner and I believe the last words you said were, "Schist, have to get out of here before that Nebo guy gets here. "
It wasn'st until a few months later that Colleen finally convinced you that I'm not a bad guy, and we all met up at B and Cream for water. :p

so there.

Can I interrupt this TR is say I just checked in to the AOA Lion King Suite and it is so freckling cute! You may resume , thank you

All right. We have a room booked for April at Mermaid, so tell me what you think of that section.
And remember Irene, gotta have your pic taken in the rocking chair by the smoking section across from BTMR.

I'm so sorry you were in so much pain Nebo. When you are on vacation it seems doubly bad. I hope the pounding did lessen the next day.

Wow, haven't seen you in years, have I?
And no, somebody with over 2500 posts is not a llurker!
to answer your question thjough, no, it did not.

Nebo,
Sorry I missed your question earlier about why you need to drink water and not coke to hydrate. The short answer is that water works best and caffeine is a mild diuretic (makes you pee) so is Beer but I probably don't have to tell you that. Really any liquid will help you to stay hydrated but some work much better than others and if you are dehydrated you can get yourself re-hydrated in the shortest amount of time by drinking plain old water.
Now on to your current update - I might get some heat from my fellow brothers and sisters in the medical profession but I totally get why you didn't want to take the ambulance ride (both at the time of the fall and especially the next day). ERs are great places to be if you get shot or have a car run over you but otherwise I try to avoid them at all costs. They have to treat you as though the worst possible thing has happened/might happen to you, its a safety issue but if you are the patient its not always a great time. I'm the world's worst patient and I always have a special place in my heart for the patient's that all the other nurses can't stand because I know they are my kindred spirits!

Ok, from now on I'm turning over a new leaf.
I'm going to get shot instead!
Actually, I'm usually a GREAT patient.
At least until I come out of general anes. Then I"m somebody you don't want to be near.

Oh shoot Nebo, I am a sucker for these things.......

"When my eyes beheld an eerie sight, for my monster from his slab began to rise and suddenly to my surprise...He did the Mash, He did the MONSTER MASH" ::yes::

This is the innate knowledge you have when your children begin listening to Halloween music daily in late August. Yep, the Buzz kids LOVE all holidays and the sooner they can be celebrated, the better! I look for the Phineas and Ferb Christmas CD to begin play roughly as soon as trick or treating is finished on 10/31. ;)

Here's as scary thought: I bought Monster Mash when it FIRST came out on the radio, I'm guessing it was about '64 or so, and I think the 45 cost about .69 cents.
There was a follow up with a Christmas version, Monster's Holiday. Bobby Boris Pickett was his name.
Dee Dee, I'm curious, just between you and me, how old are you? I won't tell anyone else.

That was a freaking scary chapter Nebo! I really, really wanted you to say you gave in and went to seek some medical attention, at the very least to get more medication for pain relief. You know you can be slightly, just slightly, stubborn, right? ::yes::

Did you know that lazy is a synonym for stubborn? Or should be? And fear could well be an adverb deftly leading up to describe the action verb, stubborn.
or, in this case, the in-action verb.

On a lot lighter note, I have to agree with you about Starring Rolls. Yummo, seriously though the red velvet/cheesecake cupcake is my favorite there. I think everything there is good though.

We also tried that too, but sorry, the butterfinger thing blew away the red velvet thing in my opinion.

See this chapter proves you can keep this TR chugging merrily along, all you have to do is just write about ANYTHING. Seriously, we will read it!! ;)

Yeah, and I remember my grandfather always read the obituaries too. Huh, 'chugging' along. Wow there's an endorsement allright, "I think I can, I think I can."
I'm kidding take it easy, just in one of those moods where I need to pick on someb ody.
So, no chance now of little Buzz holding off until my birthday? The 26th? :sad1:

We don't always do what would be considered right but often we do what is right for us at the time. I know Nebo is sick of hearing this but I am so glad he is OK. Also I am so glad you wrote us an update of your day with the kids/grandson. It must have been surreal being in the parks all day without Nebo.

Yes it was, and nebo thought it was strange not to be in the park with nebo, also.
(there's a sensible thought in there somewhere, you figure it out.)

As for the Jackson part, it was bad, but not quite as bad as I would have ascertained. (funny, I've never tried to spell that word before, wonder if I'm close)
You see by then I had already surmised that he is only going to sit with his dad, so all I can do is ask him how he liked the ride afterward anyway, which I suppose, I can also do at the resort.

I have never seen this on stage but have owned the album all my life and know every word! The singers in the movie were absolutely incredible <3 GMTA <3

Oh Yeah? Prove it. Fill in the next line of one of my favorite parts:
"I must be mad thinking
I'll be remembered yes, I must be out of my head."

First time ever I wish I did breakdowns!

Nebo that, for me, was one of your best chapters yet. Maybe it was because I was reading it at the bar at Yak and Yeti with a beer and fried green beans (ok, go ahead) but I don't think so. It was just darn good writin'

Your serious?
I felt like a self centered prima dona writing that chapter since it was mainly just about me, and no where near as funny as I would like my chapters to be, but thank you.

How cool to be sitting there having a drink, and reading my report, now THAT"S surreal!

But not if you went to Catholic School! The nuns told us we would go to H*&L if we saw that!

The following story is true:
Ok, one second here, if sombody would be kind enough to help me up on my soapbox.

Believe it or not, the first time I heard JC Superstar was at Nebo Lutheran Church.
I was 16 I think, and the assistant pastor held an occasional youth group get together and we all met at Nebo and listened to the double album.

Yes, I realize that almost everybody in the clergy hates that album, but not me, I'm one of the few that DON"T find it sacriligeous.
Yes, it tries too hard to make Judas and our last United Captain, Pontius the Pilate seem like they had no choice in what they did, but still I find many parts of it very uplifting.
No, I'm also not crazy how in the main stream movie they went way overboard on a lot of it for show biz reasons, but I can overlook a lot of that and just enjoy the music.
And as Colleen said, most of the people involved in it are incredible singers, just amazing, cuz so many songs have octave ranges just off the map!

Been a long time, think I need to see it again.

Ahem, some of us need to watch it for the first time as well! Wish we could all "watch" it together! ;)

I enjoyed the monster mash line.:rotfl:

As I was reading this all I could think was go to the doctor!! Remember my trip with the tooth episode? If I had just taken care of it thend first day instead of waiting till the trip was almost over, I would have saved myself a lot of pain.

Silly question.....did you take a picture of the growing bump on the back of your head? See...I told you that was silly. But...it would be cool to see just what we're dealing with here.

I've had a headache from a head injury and it's not a good feeling. I don't know how you could stand it without extra meds. :faint:

With as many guests as WDW has year round I'm surprised they don't have their own medical facility. They could even have the staff be characters....doctor Mickey & nurse Minnie....

Oh right, that'l work. I'm sitting there bleeding and wondering if I'm going to die and Goofy walks in with a syringe. :rotfl2: and Ursula tells me to take off all my clotehes.
I don't think so, take my voice instead, Smidgy never listens to me anyway.

Ahem, some of us need to watch it for the first time as well! Wish we could all "watch" it together! ;)

Yeah, now that would be cool! But I see you just ignored completely the age question, ok, I get it, I get it.
I know how old you are anyway.
boy, is that a long run! I still don't know the best way to go from the one to the other, and I thought my lungs were going to give out. I made it back to TSM with just a couple minutes to spare.

evenwith kim's disney App on her phone, this stupid "enforce the return time" on the FP is a pain in the butt. it's not just criss crossing to the ride you are going to ride. it's also criss crossing to get the fastpasses when you are able.
Rejoice, relief is coming! The super secret Next Generation experience is now in full testing mode and no longer so secret.
So what does this mean? You can reserve your fastpasses right from home ahead of time of from you phone. (3-4 per day). No longer have to run all over creation to collect them. Look for this in the near future/

I have to disagree there. Here is what happened: I knew about the meet a Kona, but nobody invited me. So I hung around in front for a while and met a few people, but still nobody invited me. So I walked outside and hung around the pool for a while when everyone was having dinner to wait for the beach meet. After a while I got bored or mad or both and went home.
The day of the Beaches and Creams meet, I should have been golden, a slow day. But just before I got an emergency request for a buy-out price for Yachtsmans that I had to answer withing a couple of hours. I am still mad as heck about that!

Check any pics from the Kona dinner, I was NOT there.

PS: I was the only one having water, I would have loved to have hung around for better stuff

JCSS - best score and original cast ever! Yvonne Ellman made you feel for Mary Magdalen and what she was going through. I also felt - when I got older - that the film and score captured how chaotic the period was. You read the Gospels and things sound pretty sedate. But there was a revolution going on - "student demonstration time!", but in an ancient, middle eastern way.

And - by the way - NEBO! WHEN YOU HIT YOUR HEAD AND HAVE A HEADACHE THE NEXT DAY YOU GO TO THE FREAKIN' HOSPITAL!

Ahem, some of us need to watch it for the first time as well! Wish we could all "watch" it together! ;)

Remember the music (no I don't know the lyrics.... I rarely do) but I've never seen it either.

Boy that'll be nice... for us planners that is. Of course we'll still get the snide comments, "No, that line is for people who pay extra."

I love it when that happens.

As for comments on the last post... I've deliberately been delaying on that. I wanted to see if anybody was going to comment on it (you know what I'm talking about Nebo). No one has yet, so I'm starting to type now.

I wonder if there's a smiley for that?

I am a new DISer. Last night I found my way into the TR boards for the first time, and I just happened to click on your post as the first trip report I’d read here. What a fortuitous click that was! I was instantly hooked on your post, so much so that I read page 1, and then jumped right to page 74. I enjoyed each chapter and the commentary that followed each one.

I think, though, that I got a little too wrapped up in the anticipation of Satan’s Hammer hitting its mark. As I was reading the chapter detailing your “incident”, I found myself getting light-headed and I broke out in a cold sweat. Call it imagery or whatever you want, but I think the visuals got the best of me. I almost passed out myself! I had to get away from the computer and actually lay down on the floor to keep from completely blacking out. While I don’t usually get grossed out from blood or gory details, somehow your story hit a nerve. A couple minutes later and after a glass of water, I felt just fine, but I decided not to return to the story until this evening (I just had to read how the chapter ended!).

In any case, thanks for the introduction into the world of trip reports! You’re quite a great writer. Looking forward to reading more!

Well then I apologize about the Polly thing. When I was on the beach I kept asking where Marita was, and sombody told me you were there earlier but left. Boy, that's a shame but I thiought with Disney it's all reservations, you either have one or not, I had no idea you weren't in the original party. I do remember though that you were mad when you just found out that I believe you and your husband had ot go for a special work sanctioned dinner that night when we met at B and C. Yes, I know I've teased you enough about only getting water, but I understand.

Too bad you missed the funniest part of that little meet we had that day;
we stopped at the bathroom down from Beaches and Cream, and when I came out, Diane suddenly noticed I had all this blood on the front of my kinda nice shirt.

As she is spitting on napkins and in my handkerchief trying to get it out, Colleen is standing just off to the side watching us, and then laughing.

"Steve! Where is this blood from?" Smidgy said.
"How can you not know when you are bleeding?"
"Are you still bleeding? C'mon, look, we have to meet them in five minutes! Oh brother, I can't take you anywhere can I?"

Oh, Colleen thought this was hysterical, then we went in and met you.
