CSE-- Pg. 74 SATAN'S HAMMER, Ch.18, pg.160 "Goodnight Sweetheart" epilogue

Marita has my back! Yep, this is exactly right. You want the TR baby to be stress-free right? Then I have to be entertained!! ;)

And Nebo, just in case that doesn't convince you, then I will just have to tee-hee you ad nauseum.

What's that Buzz, tell me what's happenin' what's that Buzz, tell me what's happenin', what's that Buzz,,,

Does being in an off-kilter dream state mean you are dreaming of men in kilts playing Irish-Canadian rock music? If so, you should have gone to the hospital. ;)

"Farewell to Nova Scotia" is really a cool song, and I had no doubt that on a Dis thread THIS was going to come up.

What. Now if you can't do a true cliffhanger, you have to try and fake it? ;)

Excuse me dear, but no comments from you on the last chapter or two, I had to do something!

I justed wanted to scream this whole update: "Just go see a frigging DOCTER!" Geez!!!. Glad you are still alive after all though

Remember Sandy, Marita? She was at the Poly meet that night.

I wasn't at the Poly meet, Nebo. But I did meet her at the GF for tea with some other people. She posts on FB sometimes. I should point her in your TR direction.

Can I interrupt this TR is say I just checked in to the AOA Lion King Suite and it is so freckling cute! You may resume , thank you

Smidgy,
I thought of you and cried on Sunday. gee, thanks, I think:)

We went to a celebration of life at my grandmother's church. Friday would have been her 80th birthday. The very first song we sang? "he little brown church in the vale". Normally that song doesn't do anything to me-- but this time I cried through the whole song- I imaged you sitting on your balcony at WDW humming that song and I just cried.
Then we sang "when we all get to heaven" and I can NEVER make it through that song anyway- I cried so hard people were staring, I think. So, you were in my thoughts!

actually, the phrase I bolded would be a great first line for a book.
seriously, though, thank you SO much. it means a lot to me . sorry I made you cry.. but sopmetimes a cathartic cry is good for you. ( all week I have been watching Little House on the Prairie reruns..ok, enough crying already! sheesh, that show gets me everytime.)

I'm so sorry you were in so much pain Nebo. When you are on vacation it seems doubly bad. I hope the pounding did lessen the next day.

Well, this brings us now to the "Now What" part of the trip report. All I can really do is tell my activities, and from what I heard from the rest of them for a lot of this, which brings us to......the Alan Alda Show.

(hmm, funny, Alan is really my middle name)

Monday, the day after Hot Fudge Sundae, August 6.

Well, just barely.
That night I slept a bit at first, but around 3 in the morning I woke up with a killer headache, and not from just the part
that I smacked, but inside, as if I had drank Two bottles of Mad Dog. I got up and started raiding all the little bottles lined up on the vanity.
at 3 AM you were raiding the little bottles? the early times, malibu, vodka,.....OH! not those little botttles
AN hour later, ibuprofen didn't help, and once again I'm hitting my stash in the safe. ( I know where you're about to go Ponzi, and I don't think it will be funny, but you can try)

Then I just laid there waiting for the wake up call to come.
It didn't matter to me, I knew I wasn't going anywhere today.
aw, now I feel guilty
Today is a Studios day. We had it all planned on how to do it with getting in a Toy Story ride before the early breakfast character meal at Hollywood and Vine but it now is going to leave Diane on her own.

We backed out of the character breakfast in the beginning, figured maybe they should have some time alone without us, so we were going to go over to that wonderfull counter service for our own meal,,Starring Rolls.
Right, we have not ever done a character meal, and we are doing one on Wednsday at Tusker House, we figured one was enough since T-Rex and Prime Time also got thrown in the mix.

But on our last trip which I hadn't gotten to yet, we ate at Strring Rolls and it was incredible, thanks to Jay for the recommendation.
And the Black Forest sandwich was really good, and something different.

They also have the most incredible pasties there, one of them is the Butterfinger cupcake that is HUGE, GIGANTIC, enough for two people to split and it ranks right up there with,,,, ahem,,,,,,,,,
Zebra whatchamacallems.
I was at starring rolls,, you apparently were in Vegas
Yes, I see it now and I'm going to leave it and see what happens. rats, I was hoping you didn't catch it

Anyway, that morning;

All I could do was tell them not to worry about me, I'll be fine and probably sit by the pool all day, now go away and leave me alone, and they left.
maybe I shoulnd't read the rest of this TR.. it just makes me feel even more guilty

Smidgy left me her phone so I can call Kim's phone if I need to, and I thought I'd give her a call and see how it's going at the Studios, find out whether they are staying all day or taking a break and coming back for awhile.
ok, Kim had her phone in her backpack. I keep telling steve he should have his own phone so we can EACH have one. I swear I called him back, just didnt' know what time we would be back.
I called, and it went into voice mail.

I love cell phones, talk about giving somebody a false sense of emergency communications.

I've already taken 3 vikes and six ibuprofen and two aspirin since I've been up, not counting the 3 vikes at 3 in the morning I took, and now I am on my way back up to the room for more.

3 more later, and I'm now down to 3 total, I just sat on the bed and stared for a few moments.
see, now I would vomit, all those pills on an empty stomach. :confused3

It was nice, but that weird feeling never went away all day. Do you know that feeling I'm talking about?
yes, I do. it was that weird feeling I got entering a disney park without you! esp. after toy story mania, when they went to H&V for breakfast, and I was on my own.. I walked over to the animation court and signed up for the drawing class. I drew goofy this time

I finally just could not sit there any more and went back to the room. I was just lying there when they got back, around six or so.
I still say it was more like 4 or so. we'll compromise on 5 (but I don't think so)
It sounded like everybody had a blast, maybe not Smidgy quite so much since she was the one doing the waiting a lot of the time, or being the runner for fastpasses, but she told me she didn't mind at all and had fun.

okey doke, I'll try::yes::

Nebo,
Sorry I missed your question earlier about why you need to drink water and not coke to hydrate. The short answer is that water works best and caffeine is a mild diuretic (makes you pee) so is Beer but I probably don't have to tell you that. Really any liquid will help you to stay hydrated but some work much better than others and if you are dehydrated you can get yourself re-hydrated in the shortest amount of time by drinking plain old water.
Now on to your current update - I might get some heat from my fellow brothers and sisters in the medical profession but I totally get why you didn't want to take the ambulance ride (both at the time of the fall and especially the next day). ERs are great places to be if you get shot or have a car run over you but otherwise I try to avoid them at all costs. They have to treat you as though the worst possible thing has happened/might happen to you, its a safety issue but if you are the patient its not always a great time. I'm the world's worst patient and I always have a special place in my heart for the patient's that all the other nurses can't stand because I know they are my kindred spirits!

Oh shoot Nebo, I am a sucker for these things.......

"When my eyes beheld an eerie sight, for my monster from his slab began to rise and suddenly to my surprise...He did the Mash, He did the MONSTER MASH" ::yes::

This is the innate knowledge you have when your children begin listening to Halloween music daily in late August. Yep, the Buzz kids LOVE all holidays and the sooner they can be celebrated, the better! I look for the Phineas and Ferb Christmas CD to begin play roughly as soon as trick or treating is finished on 10/31. ;)

That was a freaking scary chapter Nebo! I really, really wanted you to say you gave in and went to seek some medical attention, at the very least to get more medication for pain relief. You know you can be slightly, just slightly, stubborn, right? ::yes::

On a lot lighter note, I have to agree with you about Starring Rolls. Yummo, seriously though the red velvet/cheesecake cupcake is my favorite there. I think everything there is good though. We don't do a ton of TS anymore, usually a few a trip because the kids just don't eat enough to justify the cost, but there are some pretty good CS places around. And we have never, ever done a character meal, largely because the kids have never expressed interest in going. They are hard core ride junkies and can't waste park time on food.

See this chapter proves you can keep this TR chugging merrily along, all you have to do is just write about ANYTHING. Seriously, we will read it!! ;)

What's that Buzz, tell me what's happenin' what's that Buzz, tell me what's happenin', what's that Buzz,,,

Oh lucky me! Aren't you cute? It looks like I don't have to wait until November to experience the "joy" of a third child in the mix.....Nebo is stepping up to the plate with the litany of repeated phrases like DS loves to do. Hooray!! :headache:

actually, the phrase I bolded would be a great first line for a book.
seriously, though, thank you SO much. it means a lot to me . sorry I made you cry.. but sopmetimes a cathartic cry is good for you. ( all week I have been watching Little House on the Prairie reruns..ok, enough crying already! sheesh, that show gets me everytime.)

Oh my gosh Smidgy, I LOVE Little House on the Prairie. Half pint and Pa.....I get teary eyed just thinking about that show. I miss Michael Landon so much!

I told the kids we had to get there by *:30 sinec the park opens at 9. see , they no longer do "rope drop" (also known as the "toy story running with the bulls") at DHS. they just open early, so everyone slowly makes their was where they want to go.

I was surprised that they didnt really open early, maybe 5 minutes. they got in one line, but, using my vast disney knowledge, I said "no, everyone always gets in the first line they see. look to the right, much shorter line. so we moved. a little later they opened another line. now.. nebo and I would have skirted over there real quick....(well, I would have skirted, nebo would have tripped).

we like to make a little game out of some things. getting from illuminations to the bus stops used to be the most fun.. trying to beat your time from the last time, etc.seeing a checkout at a CS restaurant where there is a long line on the left side, but no one on the right side?.. SCORE!!!:cool1

Todd, however, does not find this amusing or fun. I get half the sentance out, and I hear, "mom, we're fine where we are, I don't want to stress out the whole time". sigh...ok (but 15 -20 people are now in front of us, and I wasn't stressing out, just using my experience to allow us to experience the max in the least amount of time.. but not stressed about it, it's just second nature to me now, and anyway, it's FUN to try to beat the crowd, and...)

but I didn't say that. I just said... Ok, fine.

once in, Jackson started what would be a theme all week. He loves maps. ( I always did as a kid, and still do). well, he decided he wanted a Japanese map! he got such a kick out of it! it was really cute.

we headed off for toy story, they gave me all their tickets for the rest of the day, as I would be fast pass runner. (ok Todd has muscles on his muscles.. why am I the FP runner? ) because I am QUICK, and I know where everything is.. my idea, not theirs.

kim keeps up with me, todd and Jackson are falling further back.. todd is not going to be in a hurry on this trip. I tell myself.. diane, do NOT bully them into doing things YOUR way. they invited YOU along on THEIR trip.
a few years back we were standing in the DSA by the castle, and 2 couples walked up, one older than the other. the older momgot all excited about some fireworks going off for the little mickey castlefront show, and squealed and grabbed the grown daughter.. "Look! we have to go see that now! quick!" and the daughter put her foot down and yelled.."MOM! just LEAVE ME ALONE ALREADY!!!!" YOU go see it if you want! I just want to realax!"
I did not want to be that mom, and end up having my son yell at me like that in WDW, so I resisted the urge to hurry them along. we'll get there when we get there. (now Nebo is reading this and saying,"why isn't she so patient with ME?!")

at TSM, I was paired with kimmy cause Jackson wanted to ride with daddy, of course. then they checked in to H&V and I was on my own! weird.

I wandered over to do the animation class. that was fun. I started thinking about how it will be when we live nearby, and I can just wander whereever I want. then I got a hot tea at starring rolls. and still had time to kill. gee, perfect time for a smoke right by echo lake, near H&V. oh well.

the rest of the day was kind of a blur.. we origianlly were going to go back and forthe to epcot, to try to get FP for soarin and do a few thing. then go back to DHS for the car stunt show and back to epcot again for iluuminations.. they had bought hopper passes, and with all the ADRs they made, it would hard to get itin all we wanted to.
I had reminded steve about this, and didn't know WHEN we would be back. there was no pool break planned that day. if all went well, it could be a full day thing.

well, they decided against the epcot thing and we ended up getting back earlier than I thought we would. even so, we didn't get in the car stunt show. we would do that another day.. we did do the Indiana Jones, and Jackson loved that. (I couldn't get either of them to volunteer to be extras.. todd and kim aren't the jump up and scream, yell and wave arms types, unlike todd's dorky parents)

they had absolutely NO interest in littel mermaid or Beauty and the Beast. girl stuff... but turns out jackson is quite the daredevil!!!!

I was imagining him needing to be talked into TOT, and saying "I'll go if Grandma Smidgy goes" and me being in a quandry, and sacrifcing myself for my little grandson, who loves me so much......nope. he though he wanted to tryit.. didn't matter if I went or not... anyway, he wasn't that crazy about it, but he loved RORC. they got FP for that, and waited in line for TOT.. sign said maybe a 30 min. wait.. so I said I'd be at that spot where everyone wait, by the turky legs, where the DSA used to be. after a while, it got hot there, there were no seats, so I thought I'd go peek in Beauty and the beast.. I should be able to see most of that... but I got nervous I might iss them, and have no phone. so I ducked out and went by the exit. worried I might have missed them, and walked back and forth between the 2 spots till they finally came out about 45 miutes later.
I know at one point (earlier, there was just enough tie to get to TSM to use our fast passes, but we could get another FP.. I knew I could make it to star tours to get them and make it back.

boy, is that a long run! I still don't know the best way to go from the one to the other, and I thought my lungs were going to give out. I made it back to TSM with just a couple minutes to spare.

evenwith kim's disney App on her phone, this stupid "enforce the return time" on the FP is a pain in the butt. it's not just criss crossing to the ride you are going to ride. it's also criss crossing to get the fastpasses when you are able.

we never did do muppets. but they ruled out going to epcot and wanted to just keep pressing on. I don't remember eating there at all. we spent a lot of time in line for some star wars toys at a stand, and Jackson wanted to do RORC again. I knwo at one point I wanted to try to call steve, and I was holding the backpack while they were on a ride, but I dug out the phone and had no idea what to do from there!:rotfl: I had no idea how to make a call on that thing. Todd had sprung for some frozenlemonades, and I finished mine while they went back for RORC. then we left to go back to pop.

I think it was that night steve and I got mom' night out. we really liked them! he got turkey, I got fried chicken.. a few years back I thought it was too small, but now it was just right. (feel like Goldilocks here).

the next mornign was Typhoon Lagoon. we planned that day for water parks becuase it was EMH. originally we weren't going to do a water park, but todd really wanted to , and then they wanted to try both, so we thought maybe we could do early entry at one, do a few things, then drive over to the other when the early entry one got too crowded.

that night todd siad "that's it, I don't care what is planned tomorrow, I'm NOT getting up early!!! I get up early every day for work 5 am, and I want to sleep in a bit"
so I didn't know what time we were leaving in the morning, but I knew it was a bad idea to go to a water park (or any park for that matter) that had early entry UNLESS you are there for the early entry... . oh well.

I believe that was part of the reason steve nixed coming with.. he said by the time we get there, there will be long lines, and I can't wait in long lines now, and youguys will be off on the slides anyway, and I'll be lying in the hot sun with a headache.
and, that was that. I had fun with the kids, it was kinda fun beign on my own for a bit. but I missed nebo.. a lot.

Oh lucky me! Aren't you cute? It looks like I don't have to wait until November to experience the "joy" of a third child in the mix.....Nebo is stepping up to the plate with the litany of repeated phrases like DS loves to do. Hooray!! :headache:
"What's the buzz, tell me what's happening, what's the buzz, tell me what's happening""WHY should YOU want to know.. don't you mind about the future...." Jesus SCREAMS out the "why" part... goosebumps....

foryou who don't know this is a line from Jesus Christ Superstar. I think we have seen that rock Opera at least 8 times. love it!

Nebo,

I'm the world's worst patient and I always have a special place in my heart for the patient's that all the other nurses can't stand because I know they are my kindred spirits!

thanks for your understanding. for various things, we have spent HOURS in the ER (kid's ankle twisted at GYmclass, Kid hurting his foot playing football in the yard.. which years later found out he fell off the hood of a car while it was moving:scared1:. fish bone stuck in my throat, stomach aches in the middle of the night) cost tons of money and run tons of tests, xrays, etc.

I suppse the prudent thing would have been to go to the ER, have nebo spend the night, do tests the next day. etc etc. I guess we don't always do what is right.

. which years later found out he fell off the hood of a car while it was moving:scared1:.

The "true" stories you hear years later - my uncle (who is only 8 yrs older than I am) and I have a "great" one that we finally told my parents two years ago (when I was 44) about how my uncle came really close to accidentally killing me when I was about 8. He was running full speed down a hill pushing me in a wheelbarrow and hit a ditch - wheelbarrow flipped over so hard it threw me, the wheelbarrow and him way up in the air and over. Wheelbarrow landed precisely on top of me. There I was in pitch black and I was stunned silent. My uncle says the scariest thing he's ever had to do in his life is lift that wheelbarrow up because he thought I must be dead. There I was completely unharmed. An angel must have saved me. We both laugh about it now but my uncle says at the time he had nightmares for years after.

I suppose the prudent thing would have been to go to the ER, have nebo spend the night, do tests the next day. etc etc. I guess we don't always do what is right.

We don't always do what would be considered right but often we do what is right for us at the time. I know Nebo is sick of hearing this but I am so glad he is OK. Also I am so glad you wrote us an update of your day with the kids/grandson. It must have been surreal being in the parks all day without Nebo.
