CS Dessert Question

Hi! Possibly dumb question here- I am wondering if you can pick ANY dessert at a CS restaurant using your dining credit (and along the same lines any drink)? Or are there designated options you can choose from. For example, a milk shake for my son's drink option? Thanks!

Assuming your son is the little one in your avatar, his meals would have to be selected from the kids menu and as far as I know, there aren't any CS places that have milkshakes on the children's menu.

For adults, most CS places have limited dessert choices, except at some of the resort food courts. You can ask which desserts are included or if there are any exceptions. As far as beverages, the standard non-alcoholic fountain beverages (e.g. soda, coffee, tea, iced tea, bottle of Dasani water) are included. Many of the Disney owned restaurants will also let you choose from some of the additional offerings, but it is best to ask first because it will vary with the venue.

There isn't any "one size fits all" answer when it comes to entitlements on the dining plan. Because the Disney owned venues are more liberal in what is or isn't allowed you will have to ask when you see something that you would like. :)

Children under 10 can generally choose only from the children's menu and for the most part they will not allow the substitution of something that is not on the children's menu. There are a few places that do not have a children's menu and they can pick whatever they want. There are also a few like Starring Rolls and Sunshine Seasons where, although there are children's meals, they can choose any dessert the adults can choose.

Thanks for all of the information! I am trying to figure out if the dining plan will be worth it for us. For example, I was looking at the menu for Sleepy Hollow. If we ordered a waffle sandwich (as an adult CS credit), could we get an iced coffee as our drink and any of the desserts (like the presidential sweet or ice cream cookie sandwich) on their menu as our dessert? Or is it strictly like a combo meal type of thing? We don't drink soda at all but are big iced coffee drinkers. Sorry for so many questions!

Sleepy Hollow is not listed on the the CS dining plan, although there are some items that can be purchased with a snack credit. There have been only a few reports that some were able to use a CS credit there, but it doesn't seem to be consistent so I would not count on it.

Thanks! I know absolutely nothing about the dining plan so I really appreciate this forum and everyone's advice.
