Every year for more than a dozen years we spend our last day at WDW at MK. While there we have always dined at Crystal Palace for our last on-property dinner. We are finally getting a little tired of it and are considering 'Ohana instead. Is this a good choice instead of Crystal Palace?

We plan to go back to MK after dinner. We will be there in the summer so there are evening hours after dinner.

FYI... we are 3 adults and 2 14 year olds.

thanks....

Try Kona, which is just across from O'Hana is better. I am just a not a buffet person.

I love both places, but I like Ohana better. Food and service when I was there were amazing!:thumbsup2

'Ohana is a great place for your last MK night. We often do the same. The only thing to be aware of is that you might be pretty full after 'Ohana so be careful with rides like Space Mountain. You might want to start with the TTA and Carousel of Progress until you digest a bit of the food.:rotfl2:

We were in the same position as you on our last trip. We had done Crystal Palace for a couple of years and liked it. We tried Ohana and really liked it. It has a nice atmosphere.

Ohanas is fantastic!!! We love CP too, but I think you will be very happy with the food and atmosphere at Ohanas, especially since you have older kids.

we have tried both and Ohana is a must for us every trip! give it a shot - you won't be disappointed! their dessert is AMAZING!

I loved Ohana's. The atmosphere, the view and the food was great. They brought out huge skewers of food and anything you wanted more of they brought out. Dessert was EXCELLENT!! I believe they just renovated too, but that I would have to double check. Much prefer over CP.

We are going to Crystal Palace for the first time this trip. We've been to Ohana once before and LOVED it. We went for breakfast, and that was the best breakfast I've ever had. :rotfl:

I voted for Crystal Palace. With 3 adults and 2 14yr olds, Crystal Palace has more variety to satisfy everyone... compared to Ohana's limited menu. The food at Crystal Palace is 100x better. You already know Crystal Palace.

I don't know why people like Ohana so much for dinner. The "entertainment" is annoying, the food is not good except for dessert. The skewered meats are OK (but shrimp are not deveined).... and you could be in for a very long wait to be seated... you might get lucky, but you could wait an hour or more. Not worth rolling the dice.

At Crystal Palace, the carved meats are much better quality and better tasting than Ohana. Plus you have salmon and many other choices. The variety of salads and other dishes at Crystal Palace easily beats Ohana's limpy salad, cold noodles, and broccoli.

I'd stick with your tradition and choose another night to try something different. My favorite restaurants are listed below...

Magic Kingdom - Crystal Palace
Animal Kingdom - Yak and Yeti
Epcot Area - Flying Fish Cafe
Hollywood Studios - 50s Prime Time Cafe
Monorail Resorts - California Grill or Citricos

We are big fans of both and try to hit both during a stay. I love 'Ohana's family style instead of a buffet - which I find us up and down at so many different times it almost feels like we aren't eating together. Whie character meals are awesome it is nice to have a meal without them sometimes too.

Our meal at 'Ohana took over 3 hours! With travel time added to a long meal you may lose a lot of park time. We're not fans of 'Ohana at all, so I voted to stick with CP.

What was the reason for a three hour meal? Was it busy? Was service slow? Or was it just a relaxed place to eat and they don't rush you? (or was it the 14 refill orders of shrimp? :lmao:)

I vote for 'Ohana....amazing view of Wishes and you get to avoid the Main St crowd

I voted for Ohana because the meal was so tasty and I am always a big supporter of trying something new.:thumbsup2 My DS loves all of the meat there! The entertainment is for smaller ones; your 14yo most likely won't get involved.

It is very crowded. Checkin can be very time consuming and you may not get the fastest server, so if park time is more important to you, then you may want to stick with CP.

I think they both great choices, but Ohana is delicious! Try something new!

Have a great vacation!

We have gone to OHANA and 1900 dinner both before returning to MK for the parade and fireworks. Try to get a 5:00 ressie is my suggestion.

oHANA IS GREAT OR HOW ABOUT cHEF mICKEYS AT THE cONTEMPORARY OR wHISPERING cANYON AT wl. aNY OF THE MONORAIL RESORTS WOULD BE THE FASTEST BUT wl IS A BOAT RIDE AWAY.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE O'hana.... It is a NO miss for our trips!!! Try it out - you will love it too!!!! :yay:

If you're getting tired of CP, you should absolutely head over to the Poly. Or Chef Mickey's. Or the Whispering Canyon Cafe. Or whatever new thing might give you a little extra zip.

New is good. Even if it sucks, it is an adventure. :)

Go for it.
