I orginally made ADR's for Crystal Palace at MK for our first evening there, but have heard good things about Liberty Tree. If you've done both for dinner, which one did you like best? :confused3

I haven't eaten at Crystal Palace but have done Liberty Tavern for both lunch and dinner. Dinner is a set menu. It is more like a Thanksgiving meal.

I have been to both and we prefer CP for the variety, and the value. There has always been Prime Rib and Salmon on the buffet every time we've gone.

LTT is lunch meat...I'm sorry it is. Some people love it, but after receiving our bill, my DH look at me and said "You realize we just spent $100 on 1/2 lb of Turkey, Ham and Roast Beef." I thought about it and he was right, between the four of us we had eaten 4 slices of turkey, 3 slices or Ham and 2 slices of flank steak. (There was also salad, rolls, green beans, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, gravy and apple cobbler)
The sides were okay, but nothing spectacular (except the green beans :thumbsup2 ) But they are all available at CP as well as much much more. :teeth:

pooh: THe character interaction was also much better for us at CP

I completely agree with mrzrich. I felt the food at LTT was very much like what would come out of a TV dinner. I much prefer the food and characters at the Crystal Palace.

My children much prefer CP over LTT due to food. It's Stouffers Thanksgiving-type food. The only thing I really loved about it was the salad dressing, butter and bread.

On the other hand, we love CP food.

There are many, though, who prefer LTT, so its all a matter of preference/taste.

Good luck deciding!

We've done dinner at both. For us it's hard to compare the two because one is a buffet and one is family style. With little ones it's easier and more relaxing for us to enjoy the family style meal so we're not up and down to the buffet throughout the entire meal. However, you lose out on the variety a buffet has to offer.

Food quality--CP wins for us. LTT wasn't bad at all, it just didn't have the variety and quality that CP had.

Character interaction--LTT was awesome! We had multiple visits from every character. They really made it special. When we remember LTT's dinner we recall the characters and the "conversations" we had with them.

Atmosphere--that's a toss-up. CP is beautiful, bright and shimmery. LTT and darker, cozy and inviting.

Relaxing break for parents--hands down LTT. Letting someone else serve you so you can stay at your table without the worry of missing the characters and their time with your children is priceless!

Overall--LTT wins.

Go to the CP, it's the best in our book. I can fix a microwave meal at home!

I have never been to CP, but I agree that you should go there. A friend of mine who can be quite the food "snob" loved it there. I can tell you that my experience with the LTT is just like the poster above, mrzrich. Very processed food.

The variety is better at the Crystal Palace, but I find the Liberty Tree to be a more relaxing meal because eveything is brought to you.

I didn't care for LTT at all, we really enjoyed CP.

We have tried both for dinner and we love them both. DH adores LTT because he is a turkey freak. We found the food to be fresh and tasty, not at all processed. We like the variety at CP though. It's all down to what your priorities are. I'm sure you'll love either one! Have a great trip.

We've done both and CP used to be our favorite because the kids were really into Pooh and friends, but on our last trip we had dinner at LTT and loved it! My kids, DD6 and DS5 at the time preferred Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale, Minnie over the characters at CP. The characters spent a lot of time with us at LTT and we all enjoyed the food. It's certainly not gourmet, but it's perfect for my kids who love turkey and ham. We also had a little bit of pixie dust that night - DS LOVES cucumbers, so we gave him the majority of the them out of the salad. Our server noticed this and showed up at our table with a bowl full of cucumbers telling DS that Tinkerbell told him how much DS liked cucumbers. It completely made his night!

I've done both for dinner and all of our favorites was Crystal Palace. LTT is ok. The food tastes like Stouffer's or something straight out of a box. Crystal Palace has more of a variety. Both of the atmospheres are great, with Crystal Palace being a lot noisier than LTT (but a lot more open). I would pick CP hands down for dinner, but LTT for lunch might win out over CP.

I will never go back to LTT - I agree that the food tasted processed and it messed with my tummy.

I will always go back to CP with a late seating. The food was great, especially considering it's a buffet, and the characters were very playful with adults.

We've never been to LTT for dinner, BUT it is an awesome spot for a non-character lunch. The food was DELICIOUS!

I love LTT - it's my favorite restaurant!!!!

I love having a Thanksgiving feast that I don't have to make!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for all of the input! Looks like we'll be staying with CP. We'll be on the meal plan so cost isn't a factor, but didn't want to pass up something pricier, if in fact is was better. Sounds like the kids will like CP better, too. They won't touch TV dinners and are not fans of pressed turkey. :thumbsup2

Anyone what the character differences are between the two? I booked LTT and remember reading it was Goofy and friends. Who's at CP?
Thanks

CP is Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger.

LTT was Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale when we were there.

My family has eaten breakfast at CP and dinner at LTT. We loved both meals. If you can't decide- do both and make the decision for yourself.

I don't fix a lot of the homestyle meals at our house so the mac and cheese at LTT was wonderful My DD's still ask if we can get the mac and cheese there. We like it so much it was one of the first PS we made for our SEPT 06 trip.
