Can I get some opinions on the Crystal Palace for lunch? We have done breakfast there serveral times, but never lunch or dinner. Is the buffet good? I am trying to decide between going to the poly for Kona Cafe lunch or doing the lunch buffet at the Crystal Palace. I really liked Kona Cafe when we ate there last time, but my favorite was the teriyaki steak and they only have that at dinner. Also we are going in September, so I think the poly might still be under construction and I am not sure how that might affect the overall experience.

Anyway - mostly I am wanting to hear about the lunch buffet at the Crystal Palace.

Nothing fancy or gourmet, just basic grub, but we liked it. Cold salads and meats and sandwiches at lunch, can't remember much more.

We found the lunch fine. We did enjoy the food ok, but we like breakfast and dinner better. We just thought the selections, lots of salads, and sandwich makings, etc, was a bit skimpy for the price. The characters are always good here, and we have always had great service and always a great time, we just prefer breakfast or dinner over lunch. Unless you really want to get out of the park at lunch time however, I would choose CP over Kona Cafe, unless you are leaving the park anyway and not planning to return. Also if you have kids....I would choose CP, over Kona Cafe.

We've only been once and it was for lunch and I can't tell you what I ate (because we ate at so many different buffets) but I remember loving it! We are heading back to CP for lunch next month. :)

We had lunch at CP on our last day last year. We loved it! I remember really liking the salads, but it was all good. We're having breakfast there in just a few weeks on our first morning. :lovestruc

Crystal Palace is always DD's pick due to her love of Piglet. We've done lunch and dinner 2x each. We've always had a good experience. The food isn't fancy, but it's plentiful and fresh and there is something to please everyone. I particularly like their salads, DD loves their mac & cheese and the boys love the shrimp and meats. (and the fact that they can eat and eat and eat...) Desserts are also not fancy, but there is plenty of variety and there is also soft serve ice cream. It's DD's request (yet again!) for our Dec. trip, so we'll be going back soon enough. :goodvibes

We like CP lunch, but in four different experiences we've found that we much prefer an early seating (11-11:30). Right at the switch over from breakfast to lunch, it is less crowded and hectic as they fill the tables. The food is fresher and less picked over too. Our 12:30 and 1 pm reservations had longer waits to be seated, the dining room louder, and the service slower (wait staff seemed a little overwhelmed).

We've also had good luck in the 2-3 range. :)
