Do you think the food selection and/or quality is better for breakfast or lunch? I like the advantages of of the early breakfast, but more interested in the food right now. Thanks

We had lunch there and thought it was a great break in the middle of the day. The food was normal Buffett, good, but nothing amazing. The characters were great!

Breakfast at 8:05! Wonderful, CP is our must-do breakfast. We did dinner there as well as breakfast in May and didn't like it as much as breakfast.

We didn't know what to expect this past summer. We had an 8:05 breakfast and loved it so much that we booked a dinner reservation later on in the day.

I have to say, both times, that the staff went out of their way to make it a nice experience. Food wise---I thought breakfast was very good, but super expensive. It was hot and I remember saying that it was nice to just sit and eat and enjoy the air conditioning! We were full for quite a while. The supper was okay. I actually thought it could be better, but we had great character interaction and that made up for it.

The breakfast for us was fabulous!! We are doing Chef Mickey next year and I hope I like it the same.

There are many breakfasts at Disney that are the same: eggs, bacon, toast. Boring.

Crystal Palace is not that place. You have tons of variety, a pancake/omelet station, and even a special bar for the kids (yummy donuts). Best of all, as others have said, you are in the park and can get a jump on the fantasyland stuff when the rope drops. CP is a must-breakfast for us every trip. It is the first reservation we go for as a matter of fact.

We have almost no WDW traditions, but a meal at CP has become one - we've eaten there every trip DW and I have been on except this past April when we were doing low budget/no TS.

As far as food, we think both are quite good, and we are with the PP in thinking most buffet breakfasts are boring and there breakfast is better than most. However, we do love the lunch / dinner food there, so if I was going to pick solely based on food, I would pick lunch. It is our favorite character buffet food - with Tusker House Lunch being our favorite food with no character.

Honestly, you can't go too wrong with either. However, when we did this in December with an 8:05 AM ressie, we were done eating, but had NOT seen all the characters by the time rope drop arrived at 9 AM. We didn't get out of the restaurant until 9:15 AM...though it was our last day and we had to leave the park at 10 AM, so we didn't care so much about rope drop. So while I hear people like eating there and then doing rope drop, be aware you may feel very rushed trying to do this, and the last thing I want to do paying $25+ PP for a meal is to feel rushed. (This is NOT the restaurant rushing you, I am talking about if you feel that self-imposed need for rope drop.)

Definitely breakfast. We did this last week and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole meal. We had lunch there a few years ago and thought it was good, but the breakfast is 10 times better, especially if you can get an ADR for before the park opens :thumbsup2

We have a reservation here at 8:20 - park opens @ 9am.
Understandably, we might not be out of there by 9am for rope drop...
But we always get there earlier - we hate being rushed.

Are we able to walk around in the park BEFORE our reservation?
Or maybe our best bet would be to get there at about 8:10 and hope to be out by 9am....?

Chef Mickey's is good but I like CP better. I don't have young children though. The noise and chaos is brutal for our family. However no exp. at Disney is bad some are just better then others or just different then others.

Breakfast is awesome! Lunch and dinner are just way too salty
