I have a question for those of you that have actually eaten at the Crystal Palace dinner buffet. The menu on allearsnet mentions chef carved prime rib as one of the entrys. Is it really prime rib or is it regular roast beef like a steam ship round? I know that some buffets take liberty with what they call the beef carving station.

Thanks in advance.

::MickeyMo We were there about a week ago and there wasn't prime rib. It was roast beef. The only buffet we went to with prime rib was 1900 Park Fare. Yes. There is definitely a difference between roast beef and prime rib. Plus, the price would be higher if they offered prime rib. The roast beef was very good, but it definitely wasn't prime rib. ::MinnieMo

It is possible they changed then.... I was there November 4th of last year, and then it WAS prime rib. You can always tell true prime rib because of the shape, and the fat composition.

I would have preferred steamship round of roast beef. I am glad that they have changed if that is the case

::MickeyMo I'm not really a fan of prime rib, so I was definitely happy with roast beef. The roast beef, by the way, was delicious. ::MinnieMo

Thanks for the info. I kinda thought that it may not be prime rib though the menus at allearsnet mentions prime rib carving stations at a few of the buffets. We are going primarily for the character interaction but I am trying to decide if we should do lunch or dinner. We are on the dinning plan so the cost difference isn't an issue. I would prefer lunch just becuase it wouldn't interfere with our touring planning to do a long lunch in a nice air conditioned place. (We are going in August). But the menu at lunch doesn't do a lot for me so when I saw prime rib on the menu for dinner I thought that dinner would be OK. Then I thought I should really ask the experts.

Once again thanks for the info.
