Hi! We were lucky enough to get an 8:15 reservation at Crystal Palace on our MK day. The park opens at 9. I planned this so we could experience an almost empty Main Street on our way in. But I am still unsure about the logistics.

What time will we be allowed to enter the park? We would like to get a quick pic in front of the castle, hopefully with no one else around, not sure if that is possible and then go in for our reservation.

Can we finish eating before RD? We may spend a few minutes getting quick pics of the characters, but mostly want to eat and get back to the park.

If we make it out before RD, where do we wait? Just wondering how close we can get in the direction of Space Mountain before we are stopped!

Thanks :goodvibes

I don't know what the actual limit is, but you can definitely get in before your actual reservation. If I had to guess I would say 15 minutes, but I don't know for sure. Because it is a buffet, once you are seated you can start eating. You can leave when you want, but we've always stayed to meet the characters and not rush through breakfast, so I've never known where they stop you if you actually leave before the park opens.

There will be plenty of people around, headed off to breakfast at CP and BOG. I wouldn't expect an empty Main Street, but you can anticipate a "sort of empty" Main Street... something like this, plus a few extra folks now that BOG is open (pic from Disney Tourist Blog).

Everyone with a prepark breakfast (Crystal Palace, BOG and CRT) is held in a line and let in at once, typically around 7:45. You can enter that early, if you wish. Since everyone is let in en masse, the empty park pics are really a thing of the past. It is just a bit less crowded.

You can make out before RD if you are willing to miss characters. Just ask your server for the bill and settle up early on so you can leave when you wish. There will be ropes keeping you from entering the various lands, just head in the direction you prefer off the hub to wait.

You can enter when they open the park at around 8 or just before. It will be quiet, especially as everyone goes to the restaurants to wait. When you arrive at CP you register at a side window - I've found that they allocate seats according to when you register there rather than taking note of your reservation time. I would go and register at 8, take your pager and do some quick castle photos and then return to wait to be allocated. That way you will be seated early and should be finished by 9. Go to the rope drop at whichever land you want to visit first ahead of the crowds and off you go at 9 when the rope drops. Have fun!
