We are staying at SOG so I am booking day by day for my ADRs. This morning I was up at 6 am trying to get Crystal Palace for 8 on 10/1. (Actually, I was up watching Winnie the Pooh at 4 am, because having a toddler is the greatest! :rotfl2:) BUT, I watched as 8:10 and 8:15 disappeared as I got "server busy" and "server down" messages for 25 minutes. Is an 8:20 reservation going to make it impossible to get out of there somewhat close to rope drop? (My party is 6 adults and a 2 year old.) I'll definitely watch in the coming months to move it back if possible, but I saw somewhere else that if you have an 8:20 but show up at 8, sometimes they'll seat people more in the order they arrive than in the order of their ADRs, is that true? I really wanted to get in early and be out in the park at 9 am to hop on a couple rides while the main crowds are fighting the turnstiles and walking down Main Street.

It's so hard to say. But to increase your chances, do arrive 15-20 minutes early. Once you are seated, ask for you check right away. That way you can leave when you're finished and not have to wait to pay.

I'm not sure it is ALWAYS true but that was our experience. We also wanted to be out by 9am so we got there at 7:45 for our 8:15 ressie, did our castle photos, and were at the stand a couple of minutes before 8am. We were seated pretty much immediately and the timing was perfect. It's definitely worth getting there a few minutes early in case it works for you as well?

Thanks!

I don't know if 5 minutes makes a difference or not but 8:15am is available now if you want to change your ADR.
