My friend told me tonight that IASW will be shut when we're there (13th-16th Nov). Was gutted but tried to put on a happy face as I told our 3 year old but she burst into tears! She was crying for a while as she was SO looking forward to seeing it all Xmassy. Oh well - it's another reason for another visit next year then!!!!!

Im going to CRY. Just seen the list for myself for when we go.....

I heard it was closed the 7th-10th Nov, so you might be in luck :)

I wish but not holding my breath!!!!!! We were really looking forward to taking our 9 month old on there as when we first went she was only 8 weeks but did like looking at the lights etc. Oh well, "just another reason to return" - which I keep telling myself but still GUTTED!!!!!

Well I must say i am now extremely disappointed that 'its a small world' is going to be closed for our entire visit in November! Surely this cannot be fair for the little ones. It as cost a fortune and with so many things closed I now feel like i wish we had booked a week in Salou for October half term now instead. sad :(

La Tanière du Dragon
Closed all the month.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Despite having been 3 times before, I only found out about the dragon last month. I'm gutted now!

A hint of good news: http://www.dlrpmagic.com/calendar/closures-refurbishments/, although I don't want to believe either. One has La Tanière du Dragon closed while I'm there, and the other has Peter Pan's Flight closed!

Oh my, if IASW were closed for our holiday then I'd probably cry too! Fingers crossed the dates have been mixed up :goodvibes Even if it is closed, I'm sure by the time you get there she'll be too distracted by the Disney magic to notice too much!

I daren't check the calender before we go, but now I'm itching to!

I haven't dared tell my DD yet - after missing out on Disney last year due to snow, she has been looking forward to seeing IASW dressed for Christmas for a LONG time! I am just hoping that the next time I check the closures that they may have changed..... pixiedust:

it's closed on our first day at DLP too :( we're only staying for a quick whirlwind weekend trip and so had a Magic Kingdom day planned for Friday the 18th, might have to swap park days now

They're really starting to take the mick with the closures/refurbishments.

That DLRP Magic list scares me, they're normally pretty good with stuff like this. I'd already heard and just about accepted that IASW would be shut, but if Space Mountain is closed I'll go mental!

It's also really sad to see that Disney have cut the hours of Art of Animation and Captain EO to weekends only. It seems that they're greatly reducing the operating hours of Storybook land and Autopia. The cost cutting isn't acceptable and is only going to stop repeat customers and effect future profits.

Poor show Disney.

yes, I've not seen Art of Animation closed part of the week before - but at least they are advertising when Storybook land is closed on the programme now, they didn't before when it was closed and it was pot luck whether it was open when you arrived there :confused3.

Yes, they advertise 'Christmas from 7th November' but then lots of rides closed and IASW...........well, my friend said that it's the essence of Christmas and the main reason we are doing a 2nd trip this year but now it's not to be. I try not to get it to me but it does!!!!!! If they had to discount according to which rides were shut they may think more about customer satisfaction.

Ok moan over!!!!

Ironically, we chose the dates we did instead of the week before so that we could see IASW with it's Christmas makeover. It's easily my sons favourite ride.

I'm going with 2 of my sisters and it's the first time for my older sister. I can't imagine all the closures will leave a good impression on her.

I think the Molly Brown is running on weekends only too at the moment.

A lot of the restaurants are only open part time as well. Lucky Nugget was closed when I walked past last week Friday (I think I saw it open Sunday though...) and Agrabah also had a sign up it was closed two or three days of the week now.

My friends said they tried to have lunch in DHS and found the place closed too... think it was Blockbuster Café, I'll have to ask them.

A lot of the stores also had signs up they would be opening early afternoon only.

Annoying isn't it? I can understand refurbishments to attractions, but closures for cost cutting aren't acceptable in my opinion.

Very annoying.

I understand the need to save money, but this really went too far.

I ate before the Halloween party, but the kids got hungry. So we went to Casey's Corner, one of the few open places.
I have to drink regularly due to my medication, so I figured I'd save my bottle and get a coke.

I got a Sprite, flat and warm. All our drinks were like this.

We sent my friend's husband to complain. He got back with the same drinks - they even refused to give him the coke or give him a refund - saying their systems were shut off for the night, they couldn't give us anything better. All they did was dumping ice in the cups. :headache:

It was virtually impossible to find a place that sold bottled drinks before 11 AM. (Normally I bring my own stuff, but I had left the emergency supply in the hotel by accident.) Everything was closed. Most snack carts were even closed the entire day.
