CRV or not CRV

I doubt Disney really cares that much what the abbreviation would be. Other than those of us around here, most guests don't use the abbreviations.

How do explain SSR?

Chevrolet SSR

How about Contemporary Resort Annex Plaza?

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I never thought about it but we do own SSR--The car not the villa.

We are DVC wantabes but only if CRV becomes a reality and I am meaning
Contemporary Resort Villas--not the Honda! ;)

My bad. I didn't even know about the Chevy SSR. My question is, however, did the Chevy SSR come out before or after Saratoga Springs was announced?

??? apparently a glitch as only a few posts were here a minute ago lol.

The SSR concept vehicle debuted in January of 2000. It wasn't in production for a couple more years, though.

Thanks for the pics. Well, the one thing that is for sure is that they are going through with that awful C-shaped thing. :scared1:

While I love the idea of a DVC at the Contemp. I just don't like that design.

My guess is a mixed-use resort (it is one of the originals, don't forget...there is way too much history there to limit it to just DVC stays). And I also agree that Disney does NOT care about the abbreviations. Before the DIS and internet fan sites, there were no acronyms for these places....the abbreviations are used mostly by those of us on the fan sites.

not sure what history has to do with it at all, the main building will still be there as regular resort rooms, so its not like the CR as it began will be lost and forgotton.

I think it will indeed be a DVC (at least in part), but it won't be called CRV. The reason it won't be called CRV is because Honda has a vehicle called CRV. I also don't think it will be called VCR, for obvious reasons.

It may just end up being called Contemporary Family Suites.

Nah, it will be CRV.

Remember that Disney has a Disney Vacation Development (DVD) Corporation.

:)

Who cares if there is car with the same initals??? Really doesn't make any sense. VCR or CRV, I don't think it really matters. But I have to agree with wildernessDad. I think it will be CRV but I really don't care. As long as its there. CV could be good. Latin meaning "course of life" Curriculum (course) and Vitae (life)

When you wish upon a star...................................:wizard: what I wish for is the VCR...............................

Saving my pennies too with a few dollars thrown in!

I'm sticking with family suites for 2 reasons. 1, just to be different. 2, so everyone here has someone on the boards that they can say "I told you so" to when CRV is announced.:rotfl:

hey, i'm the official "I Told You So" Diser...no muscling in on my territory :rotfl:

I feel like nit-picking, the Honda vehicle is not officially named "CRV", actually CR-V as in CRaVe

I CRaVe the DVC Contemporary Resort:banana: , how 'bout you?

Imagine the corporate tie-in:idea: :

Honda CR-V, offical vehicle of the Contemporary Resort Villas

GM is the official auto tie-in for Disney. Sorry

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:goodvibes got the feel for a choice buick enclave last trip @ test track

they could have a bidding war:rotfl2:

New perc = we could all be shuttled in CR-Vs to MK:upsidedow (would save on monrail expansion)

if you are refering to that pictures that had both CRV and CR together - don't even worry. CRV will be at least 1/2 that size - if not 1/4.

besides want to see the Micky Mouse swimming pool!

OK - I'll be different, too. I can't imagine noone has had this idea before...

How about just CV - Contemporary Villas? Every other DVC resort has "villas." Why would they stray from that?

The following DVC resorts do not have "Villas" in their name:

Old Key West Resort
Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
Vero Beach Resort
Hilton Head Island Resort

OK - I stand corrected, on a technical note... :headache:

I didn't sat that they had "villas" in their name, but they do all refer to their rooms as "villas" - right?

Besides, Family Suites are at the budget hotels on-site. (Not that I have anything against them, stayed at almost everyone myself.) But why would Disney use the "Family Suites" name in conjunction with their deluxe resorts/ homes away from home as well?

Rather than CRV, since no one really knows what its going to be, we should call it

GUESS

Guest Units for enthusiastically smart signups

CV - that won't work either.

When seeking employment in academia, the correct term for resume' is actually Curriculum Vita. An employer may say, "I was particularly impressed with your CV." That would be ok. I would just have to stop myself from saying, "If you liked my CV, just wait til you check out my BWV."
:rotfl2:

I'm really excited about whatever they are not building next to the Contemporary, and hope that I will be able to purchase some points there. I just need to stay off the DIS and work on my dissertation, so that I can buy some more points. (Its a vicious circle really.)

Apprentice,

If you are at all like me, procrastination and dissertation were always used in the same sentence. If I had the DIS and DVC to add to my procrastination, I would have never finished that little piece of paper!!

Good luck with yours, and stay off the DIS!!

Larry
