I doubt Disney really cares that much what the abbreviation would be. Other than those of us around here, most guests don't use the abbreviations.
How do explain SSR?

How about Contemporary Resort Annex Plaza?

Thanks for the pics. Well, the one thing that is for sure is that they are going through with that awful C-shaped thing.![]()
While I love the idea of a DVC at the Contemp. I just don't like that design.
My guess is a mixed-use resort (it is one of the originals, don't forget...there is way too much history there to limit it to just DVC stays). And I also agree that Disney does NOT care about the abbreviations. Before the DIS and internet fan sites, there were no acronyms for these places....the abbreviations are used mostly by those of us on the fan sites.
I think it will indeed be a DVC (at least in part), but it won't be called CRV. The reason it won't be called CRV is because Honda has a vehicle called CRV. I also don't think it will be called VCR, for obvious reasons.
It may just end up being called Contemporary Family Suites.
Imagine the corporate tie-in:
Honda CR-V, offical vehicle of the Contemporary Resort Villas
GM is the official auto tie-in for Disney. Sorry

I'm sticking with family suites for 2 reasons. 1, just to be different. 2, so everyone here has someone on the boards that they can say "I told you so" to when CRV is announced.![]()
How about just CV - Contemporary Villas? Every other DVC resort has "villas." Why would they stray from that?
The following DVC resorts do not have "Villas" in their name:
Old Key West Resort
Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
Vero Beach Resort
Hilton Head Island Resort
OK - I'll be different, too. I can't imagine noone has had this idea before...![]()

CV - that won't work either.
When seeking employment in academia, the correct term for resume' is actually Curriculum Vita. An employer may say, "I was particularly impressed with your CV." That would be ok. I would just have to stop myself from saying, "If you liked my CV, just wait til you check out my BWV."

I'm really excited about whatever they are not building next to the Contemporary, and hope that I will be able to purchase some points there. I just need to stay off the DIS and work on my dissertation, so that I can buy some more points. (Its a vicious circle really.)
