CruisingCA is back to WISHing....

Way to get in that exercise Rae Ann! I know what you mean about the diet snacks. I get so bored. And there are usually plenty..since my daughter and I are the only ones eating them. Good thing you saved up all those flex points...since the dreaded weekend is here!!!

I just re-read your goals...and I love the one for 20 lbs!!!

That's so cute about your daughter wanting to exercise with you. My kids are older now so it's my puppy that wants to climb all over me while I'm exercising on the floor! It's a workout to avoid the dog.

You're doing awesome! Keep up that positive attitude!! And good luck with your weekend...stay away from the Rice Crispie treats.:hyper:

Gail

LOL - I'll be able to stay away from the rice krispie treats this weekend cause I ate 'em all & I won't be making anymore! Gail - have you tried the new Oreo thin crisps? Only 100 calories for a pack or 2 WW points. I like them better than regular oreos (I find them too sweet). It may be a good treat for your daughter.

Today has been a good day for food so far - nothing off plan so far but we're going to a Chinese buffet for dinner. DH's aunt is having a birthday party. We've eaten there before so I'll stick to chicken, shrimp & veggies.

I haven't had a chance to exercise today and I may not be able to since we have to leave soon for dinner & I don't like to exercise too late at night or I can't sleep at night. Maybe if I just do yoga or pilates I'll be okay.

I started the 1000 minutes of workout challenge today. I saw it on the WW board & thought it would be a good idea for the WISHers too. I made a new clippie for those who reach the goal on the challenge. :Pinkbounc

I am glad I am not the only one that has felt lazy about exercise this week. I guess we will just have to set the goal to do better next week. That is my goal anyway. Whatever works for me. As for diet snacks, since I began WW I have been eating string cheese, cereal bars, yogurt bars, yogurt, and WW desserts (after dinner) mostly. But I am certain I will be sick of some, if not all, of them soon. So, I know how you feel.

Well, I posted to your journal at the exact same time that you posted to it, so I thought I would post again to respond to what you just posted. I hope you do well w/dinner tonight. I also think it is great that you added the 1000 min. of exercise challenge. I will have to look into doing that challenge too. It may be the exact form of motivation I need. Did you post the new clippie under "All of the Clippies in one place" thread? I will have to check that out as well! ::yes:: Have a great weekend!

Today has been a 5 sunny day!!

Although I didn't get to go to the 7 am class this morning, I was able to go to the 10 am Step Express class. It's a shorter but more intense class.

After class, we went to Trader Joe's to pick up some fruit, eggs, frozen mahimahi fillets, DH's favorite white chocolate cookies, and some precooked chicken & shrimp for my salads. I also bought some La Tortilla whole wheat tortillas....Hey Tasha, they're 0 points for 1 tortilla but if you eat 2 tortillas it's 2 points. One of those weird WW calculations but since I only eat 1 a day, it's 0 points in my book. DH bought me some Sweet Wheat bagels from Western Bagel (we have Western Bagels at several locations in L.A.) ......they're only 1 point a piece.

Then we went to Robeks so I could get a small smoothie. I tried a Polar Pineapple smoothie (3 WW points). For lunch I had spinach salad, shrimp, and a tortilla. So far I've only used 9 WW points today but we'll be going out to dinner again at DH's favorite Japanese grill place. I plan on having the albacore tuna, grilled vegetables, and the house salad again. Mmm...

Last night I did well at the Chinese buffet. I ended up using only 2 Flex Points. We rushed over to our little dinky neighborhood mall last night to get a gift at JCPenney's. They were having a 70% off sale so I just HAD to pick up a few things for myself. I ended up getting capri pants, athletic shorts, a t-shirt, and two blouses for under $40.

I'll check back later tonight to post to more journals.

Tomorrow's the first day of the exercise challenge. Won't it be great to be sporting a brand new clippie by the end of the month! We can do it!!

I haven't done any housework or laundry today but so what....it's still a 5 sunny day!!

Hmmmm....can it be??? Another 5 sunny day!!

Exercise: I did my first 60 minutes for the 1000 (or 1500 in my case) challenge. Only 1440 more to go. I like going to the gym on the weekends 'cause I like the instructors there. The workouts are a lot more challenging than the gym at work. Since I only worked out at home during the past work week, I was getting bored of the exercise dvds that I have. Sometimes I just didn't feel like doing taebo, yoga, pilates, or the FIRM tapes that I have. I'm STILL waiting for my other 6 FIRM dvds to arrive. I've already submitted a claim to my credit card company just in case customer service is just giving me the run around & hasn't sent my dvds yet. I've been checking out eBay for more dvds. The Cathe Friedrich dvds are still pretty expensive on eBay but you can definitely get a deal on practically everything else.

Food: It looks like today I'll be OP. Breakfast at 8:00 - 1 bagel, I can't believe it's not butter spray & a nectarine. 2nd Breakfast (at 10:00) - 1 egg, 3 slices of turkey bacon. Lunch (at 12:00) spinach salad, shrimp, 1 La Tortilla whole wheat tortilla, fat free Italian dressing. Snack (at 2:00) - grapes.

I'll have to go the the market to pick up all the stuff that Trader Joe's doesn't have - Dannon yogurt, fat free snack sized cottage cheese, Smart Ones meals, etc.

I'm thinking about changing my weigh in day. Monday weigh-ins suck.

LOL! I hear that! I could not weigh on a Monday for anything. I weigh on Fridays. I think Gail and Kelscross do too. And Michelle weighs on Sat. I think those days are better...at least for me. I am really glad you had another 5 sunny day! I did too, for once. Your new challenge was a great idea. It completely motivated me to get off of my lazy butt today and get moving. Thanks again for starting it!

I've decided that after I weigh in tomorrow, I'm going to change my weigh in date to Thursday. Hmmm. Maybe I'll make it Friday morning.

I'm glad I saw that challenge on the WW board. I'm glad more people are joining it.

I've been getting bored eating the same old snacks so today I bought some Diet Brisk Tea (0 calories) and some Klondike Slim-a-Bear sandwiches (2 WW points - 130 cal 1.5 g fat). I had a chocolate Klondike sandwich for my afternoon snack & it was pretty good. I like it a lot better than the WW ice cream that I tried before. LOL - the Western bagels were on sale at Albertson's and I asked DH to stop by the Western Bagel store on Friday. At least I know that I don't have to go too out of the way to get these bagels now.

Edited to add: Just got done with our weekly basketball challenge with DH & DS. Today the first person to reach 15 baskets was DS. It was a close game 15 (DS) - 14 (me) - 11 (DH). I tweaked my ankle trying to beat DS to a loose ball but it's not too bad. Next time I have to wear some better shoes that don't slip.

Way to go Rae Ann on all those 5 sunny days!

I will have to get some of those Oreo thins. I'm sure my daughter would like that as a dessert sometime. I LOVE those SlimBear Klondike sandwiches. The vanilla taste just like an original ice cream sandwich.

Thanks so much for starting that 1000 minute challenge...you saw I was right on board!!! Couldn't start today...had my girls weekend away...and TOM happened Sat., so of course today I felt like YUCK!!

I think you should change that weigh day...join us for the Friday morning weigh in:) You know I couldn't take that Monday disappointment anymore...weekends can be so cruel:tongue:

Have a good Monday!!!!

Gail

Rae Ann, I've just caught up on your journal. You've been doing a phenomenal job of exercising!

Now I understand why you set your challenge goal at 1500 minutes. I'll be working really hard just to get my 1000 minutes in! :p I'm so glad you started the challenge - thanks!!

Hope you have a wonderful day! :sunny:

Hi RaeAnn,

I'm sorry I haven't been around. You have been doing a fabulous job exercising. Your goal of 1500 minutes this month is awesome, and I know you will achieve it. I think it is a great idea that you are finding different snacks. Boredom is a diet killer. Keep up the great work.
Beth

Woohoo...Another 5 sunny day.

I just got out of the WISH chat. It's a lot of fun in there. I'll have to try to remember to make it over there on Monday nights.

I've decided that I want to run in the Half Marathon at WDW one of these days. I probably can't make it over to the one coming up in January since we'll just be coming back from Hawaii but I'm going to plan on the 2006 half marathon. It may end up being a solo trip 'cause DS will have school. Maybe Mom will want to come with me since she'll be retired by then. Maybe she'll even join me (she'd be walking though)... I'm not a "runner" but if I have 17 months to train, I'll be a "runner" by then.

Exercise: Ginger (my coworker) & I went to the Cardio Kick class today. When I got home I received one of the Firm videos that I ordered from half.com - Cardio Sculpt Blaster. It's only a 30 minute tape so I had to try that out too. This will be a fun quick workout to do on days that I'm short on time.

Food: I'm still OP today. DH is bringing dinner home --- I'm having another lazy I don't feel like cooking day so he's bringing me some garlic shrimp and some chicken for the kids. I'll just have the garlic shrimp with salad for dinner.

Everyone seems to be doing so well with the exercise challenge. So far the WISHers (up to this point) have already exercised 25.217 hours in the past 2 days.

Yeah, we WISHers rock, don't we?! LOL! Well, I keep meaning to check out the WISH chat on Mon. nights but keep forgetting. You may have to start reminding me, lol. Well, sounds like you had another great day. Congrats on another 5 sunny day! And I am w/ Gail, you should definitely join us for our Fri. morning weigh ins. I hear there is strength in numbers. :p

Hi Rae Ann:wave:

You are doing a fabulous job! Keep up the good work!!:Pinkbounc Cardio Sculpt Blaster is one of my favorite workouts because it is short, but effective. I am glad that you like it, too.::yes:: :teeth:

Take care and have a wonderful day today!

Tracy:wave2:

Hey Rae Ann! I'd like to join that chat on Mondays...but like Tasha..I will need to be reminded! I may order that Cardio Sculpt Blaster. I'd also like to join that half marathon...but this January won't work for me. Maybe next year.

Good job on the :sunny: day!

Did you do your weigh in yesterday?

Have a great Tuesday:tongue:

This is a record for me.....three 5 sunny days in a row!

I donated blood this morning. I try to do it as often as possible since they have blood drives at work every three months or so. Last time I tried to give blood, they had problems drawing blood. They tell me that my veins are deep, small & they roll. So I don't really like inexperienced techs because they try fishing around for a vein. Today I had a great tech. She did it on one try and was very personable. I enjoyed talking to her. I wish I had brought my own snacks instead of eating the cookies that they were offering. I ate half a bag of Famous Amos cookies 150 cal....geez I don't even remember the fat or fiber grams.

Food: Breakfast - Sweet Wheat bagel & "butter" spray, apple, cookies. Lunch - salad with tuna, small turkey sandwich. Snack - Pria bar. Dinner - El Pollo Loco chicken breast, spinach, 1 string cheese, nectarine. Dessert - Chocolate Klondike bar.

Exercise: I had to look on the red cross' site to see how long I had to wait before exercising. According to their site, I should wait at least 5 hours after a donation. I didn't want to overdo exercising so I did the 30 minute Firm Cardio Sculpt Blaster again. Hmmm...that was 9 hours after donation so I think it's okay.

Goals: My goal for next week - 30 WW Activity Points.

Gail - I did hop on the scale yesterday morning. No change from the previous week but I've decided to change my weigh in day to Thursdays. I'll try to remind you & Tasha 'bout the WiSH chat next Monday. I had a lot of fun and it would be great to chat with you!

Rae Ann...Sounds like you had a great day!

Keep it up...you're doing great!:wave2:

I had one of the Klondike slim bars last night...they are so good::yes::

Gail

Rae Ann, so glad to hear all is well there! I also donate blood a few times a year. It really helps if you donate before you do your weekly weigh-in! ;)

I'm throwing a WISH party on the healthy living road today. We're celebrating all those good choices we make every day! We've got the music cranked and our dancin' shoes on! Can we count those dancing minutes toward the exercise challenge?? :teeth: Can you feel the festive mood??

:rockband: "Celebrate good times, come on!!" :rockband:
