My Parents, Husband, 7.5 month (at time of crusie) old Baby Boy and Myself will be cruising with the Magic on January 17, 2004 heading for Westen Caribbean. Is their any advice from fellow cruisers about cruising with an infant? I want us all to have a great time. Thanks so much!

Hello,

We cruised with our DD last November (on Carnival, not Disney  ) and she was 6.5 months at the time. The best advice, bring the umbrella stroller! We wheeled her everywhere in that thing. She just loved it. She was the hit of the cruise.

Also, don't get too hung up on having to do everything. Stay flexible, and things will all work fine. Make sure you plan on sticking with his normal nap & feeding schedules.

We bought a big pack of diapers when we got to Florida, rather than packing them. Maybe you could plan on a quick grocery run before boarding the ship for diapers & baby food.

Enjoy this time with your family. My DH's parents came with us too, so there were always extra eyes to help watch the baby. Have them watch the baby one night, and you & your DH sneak off to Palo's!

Enjoy your cruise! :)

I traveled with my 6 mos old son last November and we had a blast.
Sign up for Flounder's as soon as you get on board for what you think you may want. You can always change your mind later.
Bring comfort items and try to stick as close as possible to your baby's schedule.
Don't bother bringing a pack and play the one on board is a Graco and in good shape.
I brought a high chair helper for my son which made the wooden hgih chairs more comfortable.
Ask for anything you may need. A diaper genie and stroller are available- I didn't get these though.
Bring your stroller to dinner in case the baby falls asleep.Your server can make room at the table for the baby.
Bring bottled water and powdered formula(if you are not breast feeding) as long as your child will tolerate it. I brought way too much jarred foof. The servers will mash or grind whatever they can for you. My son ate a banana every night as well as bread and some chicken soup.
A week or two before the cruise tally how many diapers you use for the week and bring about 10 more. The baby may need to be changed more often if he is on the beach. Also swimmy diapers for the beach(he won't be allowed in the pools). The water is pretty warm in the carribean so you may enjoy taking him in.
Lots of sunscreen but make sure you have tested it on the baby before you go. Lots of hats also. We seemed to lose at least 2 hats each trip.
OK That is all I can think of right now. If you have any specific questions please feel free to pm me or ask.
Have a great trip.

Thanks for the info so far...anymore input is greatly appreciated. Anything specific about Flounders Nursery?
