Hi! Welcome!

I love U2. My sister has been a fan her whole life. I don't think she's missed one of their tours since she was a teenager. We went to two of the 360 shows together last summer, it was awesome!

My trip to Scotland is creeping up on me. I'm so focused on Disney and our upcoming ADR date that I'm not thinking much about getting ready to go overseas! I need to get on top of that.

I have a feeling I am just going to fall in love with AKL at first sight!!

I don't except you to remember everything from my posts starting in July 2011. :rotfl:

Is it too late to join in? DH and I finally booked our Oct. trip, and I am now getting caught up on Oct. PTRs. I've been reading yours (starting from allllll the way back in 2011), and now I'm super-excited for all of your trips! We've only done one cruise ever, and it wasn't DCL, so I can't wait to hear all about that. October is getting closer and closer!

Just read the first Hunger Games book, and now I'm hooked! Glad I read it before the movie (I like to imagine it my own way first), but I will definitely end up seeing the movie in the next couple of weeks.

Hi! Never too late! :) I know, I started this PTR so long ago. I can't believe it's nearly been a year since then! It helps pass the time for sure.

I've been on a few cruises with different lines before but this will be Kris's first cruise ever. I'm excited to show him around the ship!

I'm obsessed with the Hunger Games! I'm counting down until midnight!!

You guys I am so tired! But it's a good tired. I saw the Hunger Games last night! I almost can't believe I saw it, I've been waiting a year for this movie. A little mini-review by me. No spoilers, I promise!

It was good! It's not going to win any Oscars but it's 1,408,309,000x better than Twilight and that's really all I wanted! :rotfl: They stayed pretty true to the books with a few minor tweeks. I also liked that they showed what was going on outside the arena - the districts watching the games, the Gamemakers headquarters controlling the games, and President Snow's reaction. The one thing I didn't like was the camera work in some scenes. Very shaky & blurry. I guess it's supposed to make you feel like you're part of the action but it was making me dizzy during certain scenes! Other than that, I really enjoyed it. I like Josh Hutcherson (Little Manhattan anyone?)but wasn't sure about him playing Peeta. He rocked it - I absolutely LOVED him as Peeta. I was Team Gale reading the books but now I love Peeta. I wish I had a Peeta. I like saying Peeta. Peeta.

After seeing who was cast as Cato, I was like 'No way he'll be threatening, look at this kid.' Yeah, he shut me up. Dude was crazy. The girl who played Clove was really good too. And little Rue!! Loved her. Effie & Haymitch provide some comic relief and Stanley Tucci was brilliant as Caesar Flickerman.

In other words - GO SEE THIS MOVIE! Then let me know what you think :)

Glad you liked the movie, it's the first review I'm hearing so glad it's good. I want to re-read the book this weekend and we're going to see it next Thursday, if I can wait that long.

On another note, I couldn't get vacation time in October (it's our busiest time), so we'll only be going in January now.

I juuuuuust starting reading the books and so far am hooked! I obviously won't be seeing the movie till I'm done with the book, but glad to hear a positive review!

I saw it by myself on Friday, and it was awesome! I think the movie didn't really have time to go into the relationship betw. Gale and Katniss, so I'm still sticking with Gale based on the book. The casting was really good. The scenes were so realistic, it was almost hard to watch. Definitely worth seeing! Glad you enjoyed it, too :thumbsup2

We liked the movie as well! I didn't care for Katniss in the book, but ai liked how she was portrayed in the movie. I thought Josh Hutcherson was good as Peeta as well! I am glad you liked how they showed what was going on outside of the arena, andI definitely see your point about the camea work. I usually like that style, but the was just too much of it at times! I thought it was great and would definitely see it again.

The only minor issue I had was the ending. i thought that they should have gone outside the arena to show why the decision was made at the end.... To show that they were frightened, etc. while this was implied, it could had a bigger impact and really set up e next two. That being said, I don't know what happens in the next two, but I am assuming changes are coming!

I hope you enjoy the movie as much as I did!

Bummer you couldn't get vacation time for October :( But at least you have January to look forward to!

I read all of the books in about 10 days. I was obsessed. The movie has renewed my obsession. I can't believe we have to wait over a year for the next movie!

I don't know how Liam Helmsworth is going to pulloff Gale's character. All he did in this movie was give Katniss looks. I'm iffy about him being cast as Gale. Other than that, I love the cast. I can't wait until the next movie!

I love my little JHutch as Peeta. Which is creepy because he's 10 years younger than me. :rotfl:

Catching Fire is going to be another great movie (really liked that book!) but I'm iffy about Mockingjay. I didn't love the book - I was pretty disappointed with how everything wrapped up. I heard that's going to be made into two movies which leaves me confused because there isn't enough plot for two movies. There really wasn't for Twilight either but they did that & I want to forget I ever saw Part 1.

I felt the end was too rushed but hoping they'll expand on it more in the next movie.

Hi all!

I am still on a Hunger Games high. I want to see it again! I think I'm going to re-read the other two books. I re-read HG before the movie and since I have to fill a 18 month void until the next movie, I need to do something HG related right now.

So my ADR date is a week from tomorrow! I can't believe it! So this is what I'm planning:

9/30 - no ADRs this day. QS dinner @ Mara or MK.
10/1- dinner @ Biergarten
10/2 - breakfast @ Boma
10/3- dinner @ Ohana
10/4 - dinner @ 50s PTC
10/5 - breakfast @ Crystal Plaza
dinner @ Jiko (BoG if it's open and I can get a res)
10/6 - dinner @ T-Rex (OOP, I have gift cards!)
10/7 - lunch @ Chefs de France
10/8 - lunch @ WCC before we leave if we have a TS credit left...we will if BoG opens and it's only 1 TS credit

How's it lookin??

I leave for Scotland in less than 4 weeks. You would think I'd be concentrating on getting ready for that trip. Nope, my mind is completely on Disney. Maybe after my ADR date, I'll start focusing more on Scotland!!

188 days to go!

You're ADR's look good! I'm trying to figure out when and where to fit Biergarten and Chefs de France in!!

We went to the movies on Saturday night to see 21 Jump Street (which was HYSTERICAL!) and witnessed the insane crowds for the Hunger Games. I enjoyed the books (am halfway through Mockingjay right now), but I'll wait until the craziness subsides to see the movie! Glad to hear it was good, though!
ADRs look good! Fingers crossed you don't have any trouble getting any of them!!

Love your ADR plans! I hope you get all of them! You won't be disappointed in Jiko, if BoG isn't open. We loved it when we went a few years ago!

So, I wanted to let you know that DH and I saw Hunger Games today. I haven't read the books, but now I can't wait to read them! I loved the movie and as we all know, the book can only be better!

I like your ADR's. I am hoping so much for BOG to be open!! Let's all keep our fingers crossed!

We love Boma and Jiko, but BoG would be really tempting if it's open in Oct. I enjoyed Biergarten when we went, but DH wasn't too happy. I dig the food, though. Since our trip is only going to be 4 real dinner nights, we will have to carefully think about our ADRs.

I've never been to Chefs de France but we have been to Biergarten. SO much fun! Hope you get to fit them in :)

We saw 21 Jump Street a couple weeks ago. How awesome is Depp's cameo?? :rotfl: The crowds were crazy for Hunger Games but the theater we went to is a Fork & Screen so they have assigned seating. We showed up 10 minutes before the movie and had no issues.

Let me know what you think about Mockingjay. I wasn't crazy with how the series wrapped up. I'm currently re-reading Catching Fire.

Love your ADR plans! I hope you get all of them! You won't be disappointed in Jiko, if BoG isn't open. We loved it when we went a few years ago!

Thanks! Jiko's menu sounds good and the restaurant looks beautiful. I'm looking forward to it.

Yay for seeing the Hunger Games! Is it weird that I feel proud when people I know tell me they saw it? :rotfl: I have Hunger Games and Catching Fire on PDF files. If you want me to send them your way, let me know!

Fingers crossed for BoG although I think it will be nearly impossible to get an ADR there!

We love Biergarten! I thought the food was delicious and the entertainment was fun too. Good luck with your ADRs!

First off, I looooved the hunger games!! It was such a good movie! I hadn't read the books before, but right after the movie, I went and bought the first one! It's sooo good as well!!

I'm liking your ADR list! Ben and I are definately going to go to Ohana as well! I still have like 2 weeks 'till we can make ADR's, so I'm still waiting patiently! But, I do have a rough plan of where we are going each day, and I will be posting that on my PTR soon! And actually start updating more consistantly! haha

I hope you have a great week!:goodvibes

Yay, I'm glad you liked it! I'm re-reading Catching Fire and Kris bought me a parody called The Hunger Pains that I just started last night.

I can make my ADRs TOMORROW! AHHHH, can you believe it?? Heather's ADR day was today, I have to see how she did!

So excited your ADR day is tomorrow!! Hope you get all your choices!! I am totally dreading trying to get that Ohana ADR...and who knows if booking online will work or if we will have to call. My ADR date is the 20th, so I still have a little time.

Thanks! We're renting DVC points so I'm hoping it'll accept the reservation number online & I can do everything from the website. I've heard it can go either way! I hate calling if I don't have to and since the summer rates were published today, the wait times for Disney have been crazy! Fingers crossed!

Good luck with your ADRs! That means only 6 months until your trip! :woohoo:

Thanks!

I've changed my birthday plans again. :rotfl: The plan was to go to Jiko for dinner but the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to go to Hoop Dee Doo. Easy access since we'd be spending the day in MK and you don't have to get dressed up to go there. I was there back in 2009, had a blast, and was the can can girl :thumbsup2 But I just found out today that HDD will be closed for refurb starting October 1. :headache: So there goes that plan. So my new plan is dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe followed by a Haunted Carriage ride at FW. If BoG is open by the time we go, I'll try to get an ADR there instead. Since WCC is only one TS credit, this opens up another restaurant option for us. You'll find out tomorrow if I get everything I want! :thumbsup2
