Cruising, Wining, and Disney Dining - Two 2012 PTRs in One! **TR LINK UP**

You stay safe too! Sorry I haven't gotten you the pictures yet, between the earthquake and hurricane, it's been a weird week down here. I've heard that they have already started to evacuate some parts of the Jersey shore - do you think you'll have to move inland, or are you far enough away from the water you'll be safe from flooding?

They evacuated a couple of towns next door that are right on the water. As far as I know, it's 'voluntary evacuation' for my town, not mandatory. The beach is about a mile down the street and that's only a bay so I think I should be ok. I'm more worried about the trees and power outages.

Same here. My husband does IT work, and it's his weekend to be on call, so I know the phone will be going off constantly, and there's not going to be much we can do.

As you can tell from my ticker, I made the switch to CSR! I had to call Disney for a client to set up Magical Express so I took advantage while I had them on the phone. I booked a king room and requested the Casitas section. I'm excited but I wish it wasn't so far away!!

Have a good weekend everyone. To my northeast friends, stay safe! Hurricane Irene's a-comin!

I hope everybodies staying safe! Also I'm so excited that you changed your mind and went with CSR! I can't wait for you to experience it. You won't regret it! :goodvibes

My town lucked out with the storm. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for some other parts of NJ.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Hi everyone!

I hope those of you that got hit with Hurricane Irene are safe & doing well. My town flooded a bit but it receded quickly. Our power was on and off but we didn't lose it for a long amount of time; our cable was out for a day but we got that back on Monday. Lots of branches and debris everywhere but nothing we couldn't take care of. For being so close to the beach, we really lucked out. Other parts of NJ are a complete mess. Some of my co-workers are still without power. I feel very fortunate that we were so lucky!

Good news! Kris and I found an apartment. It's a 2 BR on the second floor of a two family house. We signed the lease last night and we're getting the keys in a few weeks. I'll take pictures then :) We're going to move in stuff little by little after we get the keys but our official move in day is October 1. I'm so excited and already thinking of Disney related things to decorate our apartment. :rotfl: For instance, I'm not crazy about the kitchen cabinet knobs and want to replace them...what if I found Mickey head kitchen cabinet knobs?

Kris and I went to Hersheypark this past Tuesday to celebrate my nephew's brithday and that was a blast! I never noticed how that park tries to emulate Disney World until this visit. There is a statue of Milton Hershey in the front of the park, they offer pintrading, and they sell 2011 shirts that are the same style as the Disney shirts.

Except instead of Mickey and Donald, it's Hershey bars and Kisses! Hey, if you're trying to model yourself after a park, Disney is the way to go! :thumbsup2 I love Hersheypark. Excluding Disney (because no one can compare) it's my favorite amusement park.

It's the 1st of the month and that means Disney Fund deposit from my loose change. I had $9 and deposited that today plus I earned 8 cents interest for the month of August. That brings the grand total to $117.55! Every little bit helps :)

Does anyone have any fun plans for Labor Day weekend? I have to work Saturday but on Sunday my family is having a get together/BBQ. On Monday, I think we may to go Kris's parents and then go to a few stores & see what kind of sales they have. We need bedroom & bathroom stuff!

Ohhhh...big news regarding our 2012 WDW trip but I can't share it with you yet. I'll let you know by October 31, I promise! ;)

Have a great weekend!

Jenny!! I haven't been DISing recently and I'm happy to be back!

First of all, I'm so glad you switched to CSR! It's my favorite of the mods.

Second, YAY for the apartment!! I can't wait to see pictures!!

Third, HOORAY for paying off the cruise... 2012 is right around the corner! :dancer:

Finally, glad all the concerts have been fun. Looking forward to reading MORE! pixiedust:

Hi! I've been wondering where you've been. Glad you're back. :goodvibes

It's been a great summer and I have so much to look forward to. This year and next! :)

I'm so glad you guys are ok after the hurricane! And congrats on the new place for you guys!

But you have news that we can't hear about the trip?!?! :scared1: Aww, come on! Way to leave us hanging! :lmao:

I'm sorry but I can't tell you guys until it's official. I don't want to jinx anything. You're welcome to guess! LOL. Come on, it adds a little bit of mystery to the PTR. ;)

I also love Hershey Park!! My aunt used to work for a big company in Maryland who would rent the entire park out for a day during the summer, so just employees and their families would get to go. So my first 10 or so trips, I never had to wait in any kind of lines. Then when I went to the park during a regular day, I was SO ANNOYED. Who were all these people and why were they in my park??? Haha.

I'm actually going back there in two weekends. I agree, it's my favorite non-Disney park. What is your favorite coaster?

Since you did make the switch to CSR, here's some of my pictures!

That's awesome! It wasn't too crowded when we went. The longest lines were for the waterpark rides. There was even a line to get in the lazy river! Other than that, almost everything was walk-on or 20 minutes at most.

Hmmm, I think my favorite coaster has to be the Storm Runner. Followed closely by Lightning Racer. What about you?

Beautiful pictures! It looks so peaceful and relaxing. The one with the sky reflecting on the lake is amazing. Thanks!

How did Irene treat you?

Great Bear will forever and always be my favorite, especially sitting in the front row. But clearly the best ride in the entire park is the Chocolate World tour, haha. We usually ride it when we first arrive and on our way out of the park. Yay free samples!

We didn't lose any power to Irene, so that was great. But my husband works for a very small IT company and was on call this week, so with the power going on off everywhere, it's been a very sleepless week. Someone else goes on call today, so I am looking forward to catching up on some sleep this weekend!

I haven't been to Hershey Park in years, but really want to! I'm sad we didn't go to Busch Gardens this year-- my fav non-Disney park! So beautiful!
I agree with the switch to CSR after our POR stay this year...I wasn't thrilled with the service. CSR is gorgeous!!

Great Bear is fun too. I love the Chocolate World tour! I love the singing cows. :rotfl: I always stop there first, ride the tour & get my free sample, then go to the park.

Glad you didn't lose power. Get some rest!

Busch Gardens (both VA & FL) are beautiful too. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is small though so I feel like it gets crowded very quickly.

Uh-oh. Guess I'll have to read about POR when you start your TR!

I am a bit bitter about those singing cows. I miss the old version of the ride where the little sign of the cow would like up and it would just go MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! And I kind of roll my eyes at the entire addition of "Chocolate is made with MILK! MILK IS SO GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!"

Hello. My name is Theresa and I am a Chocolate World snob. hahaha

Subscribed! Look forward to learning more about you and seeing what your plans are! I am jealous of your 2 trips!! :cool1: (going back to read now)

:welcome: I'm lucky to have two Disney related trips next year. It makes not going to WDW this year a little less painful.

Hi guys! Not much going on in Disney news (except something that is being kept a secret right now, for fear of jinxing it, but I will let you know when it's official!). I just wanted to check-in with you all.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was jampacked: Saturday after work Kris & I went to his parents' house and had dinner, on Sunday we went to a BBQ at my brother's, and Monday was spent apartment shopping! We got a lot of great stuff at minimal cost to us because we had $160 worth of gift cards. Our stops included JCPenney, Macy's, Bed Bath & Beyond, Ikea, Target, and Sears. The loot:

From JCP - bath set: shower curtain, mat, & hand towels plus a shower curtain rod. Also, two pillows.
Macy's - set of 3 kitchen towels
Bed Bath & Beyond - bed set that I absolutely love! Came with the comforter, bed skirt, pillow shams, and accent pillows. We got something else but I'm having trouble remembering what it was at the moment!
Ikea - odds & ends from the $2.99 bins. From what I remember, 2 wastebaskets for the laundry room & bedroom, ice cube trays, cleaning supplies, and a clock among other things
Target - toaster, cooking cutlery, more cleaning supplies, a trash can for the kitchen, pot holders, and more little odds & ends I can't remember right now!
Sears - a headboard for the bed

I'm so excited to get everything moved & unpacked in our new place. I'll take pictures when we get our keys (the before) and once everything is unpacked & set up (the after).

Hope you all enjoyed the long weekend. My first day back at work did not get off to a great start. It's pouring so there was lots of traffic, I spilled chinese food (my lunch) all over the car while trying to manage that & the umbrella so now it smells like kung pao chicken, and I forgot to put my earrings in so they're sitting on Kris's dresser at the moment. What a day! :rotfl:

Thanks for reading :goodvibes
