Cruising, Wining, and Disney Dining - Two 2012 PTRs in One! **TR LINK UP**

I went to Lake Compounce some weeks ago-- very fun! Great wooden coaster! Have a great weekend-- I feel like outdoor BBQ days are drawing to a close :sad2:
I hope Kris starts to get less picky, too!

I remeber you writing about it on your PTR. I'm looking forward to it. It's a bit of a drive for us so we're staying the night.

Ugh, me too. He finds the craziest things wrong with places. I just stare at him with this blank look on my face like 'are you for real?' The place he lives in now fell into his lap. His parents moved out and he stayed put and has been there everr since, for like 10 years. So he's never been apartment hunting before! It's an experience, lemme tell ya. :sad2:

Hey Jenny!! I've been so outta the loop with the DIS, I didn't even know you started a PTR! :guilty: But I'm here now!

Love, love, love your money saving strategies! :thumbsup2 I may have to start that up so I can justify another trip! :lmao:

Your concert pictures are awesome! I saw U2 almost ten years ago with No Doubt and they really do put on the best shows!

Good luck with apt shopping. I was right there last year except for it was for a house! :scared1: Moving is always so much fun....

Hope you have a great weekend!!

Hi! You're here now, all is forgiven. ;) Plus, you were in Disney World! Of course you were out of the DIS loop.

I wish we had someone cool like No Doubt that opened for U2. Other legs of the tour got Lenny Kravitz and the Black Eyed Peas. We got Interpol. I don't even know who they are and they're music made me feel like I was Ducky in Pretty in Pink.

Thanks! We looked at a place yesterday that Kris actually liked! We're going to look at another place later on today and one more tomorrow. Hopefully, we'll find something soon. We want to be in somewhere by October 1.

Have a good weekend!

Looking forward to reading about your trips. I can't wait to go in Oct 2012, but it seems like so far away.

Hi, welcome! I know! :( I'm hoping the time flies though and it'll be here before we know it.

I'm joining in on the fun of reading your PTR... :thumbsup2

I must say we have a lot in common. We both live on the Jersey Shore. I live in the Ocean City area. We also have a love for NKOTB (Donnie is my favorite) and NSync (I've been yelling at Justin for years now). And most of all I am travelling on the NYC Getaway cruise also.

Hi, welcome! :goodvibes

I'm at the very start of the Jersey Shore, near Sandy Hook. I love the summer but I'm ready for the Bennys to go home!

A Donnie girl! I met Donnie last year! He's the only one I've met.

I think if I ever met Joey, I'd faint. :faint:

I believe there would've been an NSYNC reunion if it weren't for Justin. Stop making movies and get back together with NSYNC!

Can't wait for our cruise!

Hi, my name is Jen and I'm a resort hop-aholic.

So I'm sitting at work, minding my own business, and a little bored because it's been slowing down since it's the end of summer (can you believe it?!). I was reading through the October 2012 thread and someone mentioned how great CSR is. Gets me to going to All Ears and looking at the pictures of CSR. Absolutely beautiful. I love the room decor. The Casitas section is just so pretty. The pool looks amazing. Plus they have a fitness center, spa, and nightclub. Bonus! POR has none of these things. Plus, I love Donald and the Three Cabarellos theme throughout El Centro & Casitas section is right up my alley.

So you see my dilemma right? I totally want to switch my stay to there. It's the closest thing to deluxe without paying for deluxe. Does anyone have any feedback or insight for CSR?

What would you do? Stay at CSR or POR? CAST YOUR VOTE!

I promise not to do this to you guys every couple months. I already switched over from POFQ to POR but there are so many great resorts!!! I just can't decide! :goodvibes

That's a tough one! My aunt, uncle and cousin stayed at CSR and loved it! Said it was very relaxing and the rooms were nice! However, we stayed at POR and loved it! The atmosphere was so relaxing and Thing3 claims that Riverside Mill has "the best food ever". Can't wait to hear what you decide!

I have stayed at both resorts, and we prefer POR, but if you have never stayed at CSR, I definitely think it's worth it to check it out. We really enjoyed the scenery, the rooms and the Pepper Market; the only downside were the convention guests who were at the resort that week. Our room overlooked the Casitas pool, and there were several nights that people attending conventions had social nights, and decided to congregate around that pool. They were pretty loud and we had trouble falling/staying asleep. However, if you were to ask for a room away from the pool, you probably wouldn't have that problem (and I'm sure there are some conventions where the attendees are now quite that rowdy).

I have pictures from both resorts if you're interested in seeing a couple more =)

CSR looks so beautiful and I've heard the pictures don't do it justice. I think POR is very pretty too but the pool is a big factor for us and CSR's pool trumps POR. Plus, I've heard Riverside Mill is a madhouse in the morning. Decisions, decisions! Thanks for your input. :)

That's the only thing I'm worried about with CSR - the convention guests. I think there is a convention the first couple nights we're there according to CSR's thread. If I did switch, I would probably request the Casitas section. I've heard buildings 1-3 house the preferred rooms so that would land me in building 4 or 5. I've heard 5 is quieter & closer to the Dig Site but further from El Centro. I've also heard the Ranchos section is very quiet but that seems very far from everything. I'm already doing my research! :goodvibes

And I would love some pictures please!

That's a tough one...:scratchin

Initially I would say CSR since you haven't stayed there, but the convention worries me. Plus the resort is HUGE! Four bus stops within it! :scared1: But...a flight attendant on our way to Disney chatted with us and said CSR was her favorite (minus hating it when conventions are there). Hmmmmm.....I say CSR! :thumbsup2

Unless you end up at AKL!!! ;)

I haven't stayed at any mods! POR has four bus stops too so that doesn't really worry me. I would think the bus stops at CSR would be less crowded though because POR seems very popular.

If I end up at AKL, problem solved! :rotfl:

Do you have to be referred to use MySurveys? I couldnt find anywhere to sign up.

I don't think so. I signed up on my own after seeing a link on Couponing to Disney's website. I would walk you through it but I'm at work and that site is blocked here.

I just paid off our cruise!

:banana::woohoo::yay::dance3::dancer:

I'm so excited! It just makes it seem more real once it's paid off, ya know? Now it's time to start chipping away at the WDW trip.

Speaking of, I still haven't made any changes. We're still booked at POR but I'm leaning more toward CSR. I'm going to research it a bit more (and look at some more pictures!) and make a decision. You'll be the first to know! Well, Kris will be, but you'll be next! I'm such a resort hopper. I do this every time I plan a trip. I have no intention of staying at Caribbean Beach so unless I can suddenly afford AKL, I think CSR will be the final change. :rolleyes1

I made a small deposit to my Disney Fund today - $7.05 brining my grand total to $108.47. $1,641.53 to go!

The apartment hunt continues! We've looked at a few nice places (most not so nice) but we haven't come across anything we really love. We're going to look at a house today after work. Maybe this one will be it!

Did you hear about the earthquake that shook the east coast for all of 15 seconds? I thought I was imagining it. I work on a busy highway and thought it was a truck passing by until I saw the door to the lunchroom swinging back and forth. Before I could decide if I should move out of the path of the vending machine, it stopped. Now there's a hurricane warning for Sunday. What is going on?? I thought I lived in New Jersey!

No big plans for this weekend but Kris and I are going to Hersheypark on Tuesday. It's my nephew's 13th birthday and we go to an amusement park every year to celebrate. It'll be us, him, my other nephew Jake (he's 5), my brother, SIL, and sister. Should be a blast! It's a drive from here, about two hours, so Kris and I are leaving Monday after work and staying the night. I love Hersheypark and haven't been there in a couple years so I can't wait! Especially to bring home some yummy candy!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! :goodvibes

Congrats on paying off the cruise!!:woohoo: Next thing you know, your Disney trip will be paid off!:thumbsup2

It's hard not to second-guess yourself about the resort. Here's hoping you get a great offer to stay at AKL! :wizard: By the way, have you ever thought about renting DVC?

I hope you and Kris find a place to stay soon! Apartment/house hunting is so frustrating at times. :headache:

I feel soooooo bad for you guys up north! First an earthquake (which is totally weird!) and now a hurricane! :scared1: Whatever happens, be careful!!

And I hope you all have fun at Hershey park! I've always wanted to go there! Maybe someday....

I can't wait until that Disney trip is paid off! Looking at the balance is giving me anxiety. :rotfl:

I have thought about renting DVC but I like to be in control of my reservation. Don't you have to do everything through the owner? If I wanted dining, I'd have to go through that person right?

Thanks. I hope we do too. We're going to look at another place today.

California and Florida are probably laughing at the Northeast! People freaked about the earthquake that lasted all of 15 seconds and now everyone's freaking out about the hurricane. There are places that will flood (even with regular rain) and they sould be evacuated but everywhere else...we'll probably lose our power. That's about it. I'm not too worried about it, I just plan to stay inside. Meteorologists always blow things out of proportion so we'll see how bad it really is.

I love Hersheypark! Behind WDW, it's my favorite theme park. It's so pretty & clean and it smells like chocolate everywhere!

As you can tell from my ticker, I made the switch to CSR! I had to call Disney for a client to set up Magical Express so I took advantage while I had them on the phone. I booked a king room and requested the Casitas section. I'm excited but I wish it wasn't so far away!!

Have a good weekend everyone. To my northeast friends, stay safe! Hurricane Irene's a-comin!
