Cruising, Wining, and Disney Dining - Two 2012 PTRs in One! **TR LINK UP**

Happy (belated) Halloween! It was weird to see snow on the ground during Halloween. We had a freak snowstorm on Saturday and got hit with a few inches of heavy, slushy snow. It was bad enough to cancel the Halloween parade & pumpkin carving contest in my town. The trees (which were already damaged from Hurricane Irene a couple months back) were losing branches left & right. Our block was lucky but the next block over lost all their power because of the falling trees. There were lots of downed power lines & roads closed throughout the area. We hardly got any trick or treaters because of it. We had a total of 5. FIVE! I held the bowl out to them & let them take as much as they wanted. They told me my house was the 'best house ever!' We still have a ton of candy left over because we were expecting a lot more kids. Maybe I'll bring it into work. It'll be gone in a day here!

My sister, Kris, and I also went on a haunted hayride yesterday. I love those things! So cheesy but so much fun. Never really scary, I just laugh the whole time and say hi to the monsters. I love Halloween & fall! Next up, Thanksgiving! :goodvibes Can you believe it's November already?

I borrowed The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World from the library, mainly to get a discount on touringplans.com. I also downloaded their app to my phone. The crowd levels are looking pretty good for our week & it was able to help me make an outline of a plan for the week. (I know, it's way too early for this right?) I'm going to keep checking back the closer our dates get. The only time it looks like it's going to be really is Columbus Day weekend. I'll be avoiding the parks and opting for a waterpark one of those days! That site is really helpful. They even having touring plans for each park (full day, half day, MNSSHP, etc). I usually don't follow those but I make take them into consideration. I want to see as much as possible & ride my favorite rides more than once. Last year I couldn't do that because we had a group. Kris has no idea what he's in for. :rotfl:

I made another deposit to my Disney Fund this morning.
$16 - singles left over from lunch money budget
$15 - tips from AAA members (that rarely ever happens but happened twice this month!)
$4 - won on a scratch off lotto ticket
Total deposit - $35
Grand total - $360.30
$1,639.70 to go!

I've joined yet another rewards program. I tried Quick Rewards that I found on DIS but they send way too many emails & I didn't really like it. So on a recommendation from another DISer (if you're reading, thanks Dan!) I joined Sunshine Rewards. You can take surveys, shop, and click links for reward points. The great thing is you can cash them in for Disney gift cards! If you choose to cash them in for Paypal deposits, you can redeem it for any amount you wish. I've only been a member for a few days and I'm already up to $7 in rewards. :woohoo:

Hope you're all having a magical day & thanks for reading! (If anyone still does  )

haha that's funny because here I am up here in Canada and it's sunny, blue skies and 8+. Grass on the ground! :)

I don't get the weather lately. Freak snowstorm in October and back in August we got hit with a hurricane. A couple weeks before that, earthquake!! :confused3 I think the state of NJ is confused.

WOW!! I am the most unobservant person ever! I didn't see you had a PTR!! I'm so sorry for not joining in sooner!! Loving what I've read so far!! I'm not caught up with it yet, but I will be!!:thumbsup2

I honestly can't wait till our trip either!!
It's always nice to see the price of the trip go down! We pay every month on it, and slowly, but surely it's going down!

Again, sorry I haven't posted sooner!!:goodvibes

It's no problem! :) Glad you found me. Better now than next September! Then you would have a lot more catching up to do. I love writing a PTR. It makes the time pass faster somehow.

Augh, the weather was horrible this weekend! We lost power at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and just got it back last night. What a mess!
I always mean to get into those survey/rewards websites but never do-- $7 in a couple of days is amazing, though!!

Ugh, that stinks! We were lucky enough not to lose power but there are other towns nearby that are still without it.

Up to $9 now! :woohoo::laughing:

Thanks! I love our apartment. We've put more stuff up since I took those pictures. There are curtains in every room now, we've put some pictures in the hallway, and the 2nd bedroom is finally set up. All of our sports stuff (he's a Packers fan, I'm a Rangers fan) went into that room. It's starting to look like a real home :thumbsup2

I'm super excited to stay in AKL! I have a feeling I'm just going to burst into tears when I walk in the lobby LOL. When I stayed at WL, I fell in love with that place & was so sad when we had to leave. And we weren't even leaving to go home, we were leaving to board the Disney Wonder!

Looking forward to counting down to our trips together :)

I keep thinking about signing up for touringplans.com, but I've never actually done it. You've got me thinking about it all over again, though!

I love it when you get all moved in to your apartment, and it finally starts to look and feel like "home!" My last apartment, I still had like 10 unpacked boxes in my closet when I moved out, and I lived there for a year! haha:rotfl:

DH and I are definately going to have to resort hop while we are there this time! We did just a little bit of resort hopping during our Disneymoon, but didn't go to any of the Deluxes. We'll definately have to go see AKL this time! I bet I'll burst into tears just visiting! haha jk :lmao:
I have always wanted to go on a Disney cruise. We considered going on one for our honeymoon, but I HAD to go to Disney World, and of course, I was NOT dissapointed! But I still definately want to go on a cruise! Are the prices comparable to a DW trip? I remember pricing one when we were thinking about going, but I don't remember what the price was! lol

And I am looking forward to counting down our trips together as well!!:yay:
Hope you are having a great weekend!

It's a great site! It's definitely worth the small fee. If you manage to get your hands on a copy of the book like I did, they'll ask you a few questions to prove you have the book & give you a discount. I think I paid like $7 and that's good for a year.

 Anything left unpacked got thrown into the attic. :rolleyes1

I think we're planning on visiting WL because I'd like to eat at WCC. WL is my favorite hotel & I really want Kris to see it. We'll also definitely visit the Poly to go to Ohana. I also want to check out AoA if I can get over there!

DCL is more money compared to other cruise lines. I guess you can compare it to the pricing at Disney World. I loved the ship but the service wasn't what I expected. Disney needs to work on that, esepcially for the money they charge! I'm happy our two night June cruise is already paid off.

My weekend was great! Going to post about it soon :)

This weekend was so much fun. I am a huge fan of The Soup and I found out he was going to be doing stand-up at a local college on Saturday. So I convinced my sister to go with me to see....

Joel McHale! I absolutely love this guy. We had third row seats so I got to see him up close. I was in awe. I watch him every week on the Soup, he cracks me up, and if it's possible I like him even more now after seeing his routine. He had me and my sister in tears, we were laughing so hard. I need to start watching Community. I've seen a couple episodes here & there but I don't really follow it. I'm pretty sure it's On Demand so I can catch up :)

I was able to get some pictures of him since we were so close.

First here's me with my ticket. Can you tell how happy I am? LOL

There was an opening comic and then Joel McHale took the stage. The first half of his act was references to the Soup. I knew he would poke fun at the Kardashians (or the Kardazians as he calls them) and Ryan Seacrest.

Joel's imitation of Bruce Jenner

And of the Kardazian sisters

The second part of his act was about his kids & his father. Also hysterical.

Ok, so I'm used to seeing him in suits when he's on the Soup and had absolutely no idea that he's..well...jacked. He took his sweater off midway through the show and...Joel McHale's got muscles. Just look as those guns!

We tried to meet him after the show but it didn't happen. :( He was in this room that you could see from outside and the back door was unlocked. People did get in to meet him, you could see them taking pictures. But as soon as we tried to get back there, security appeared out of nowhere and kicked us out & then locked the door. He was on the other side of the wall from me!!! I was so close. :( I would have freaked. I watch him every single week and I think he's hilarious. I probably would've been so nervous! Do any celebrities make you that way? I absolutely adore him, Christian Bale, and Johnny Depp & would probably faint dead away on the ground if I ever came face to face with one of them. Add Joey McIntyre from NKOTB to that list too. What about you guys?

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

That is awesome you got to see him. I love the Soup. He is so funny. I would faint if I met Christian Bale also. Love him. But the more and more I see him he seems a little strange so I try not to watch him in interviews...haha Others I would go crazy for are Justin Timberlake who I did meet and I was a total loser and couldn't get a word out so I would love to meet him again so I can not be stupid. Did you ever meet Joey McIntyre? I did years ago when he did his solo thing and he was the sweetest guy. Would love to meet and would probably faint if I met Bradley Cooper, Alex O'Loughlin, Bon Jovi. I am sure there is so much more but I can't think right now.

The Soup is one of my favorite shows. I was completely over the top excited that I got to see him. I'm still all happy about it! :) I've loved Christian Bale ever since I saw Newsies & Little Women. I think I was 12 or 13 at the time. But ya, he seems a little weird  He was just in Newark, which is about a 10 minute drive from where I work, to film the new Batman movie. I've never met Joey Mac but I have met Donnie Wahlberg. He was in a bad mood & wasn't tons of fun. I would die if I met Joey Mac though. He's the first crush I ever had!

I have met Donnie Wahlberg. He was in a bad mood & wasn't tons of fun.

That's too bad! Donnie was MY crush. I met him in Los Angeles when he was on location shooting that tv show BOOMTOWN that he was in. (I think it was on NBC) We got pictures (I'll find it) and he kept saying "You're from Canada EH. I love Canada!" and hugging me! It was so much fun.

I would have been so disspointed to have met him and not had a good meet. But he is just a person like me and gets in bad moods too. Difference is when I'm in a bad mood no one is all that interested in meeting me!

ETA: MY first crush EVER was Jonathan Brandis. My bedroom was seriously WALL PAPERED with pictures of him. You couldn't see any wall at all! I <3 him so much! Unfortunately I will never get to meet him because he comitted suicide a handfull of years after SeaQuest was cancelled. :'(

That's my sister, Donnie, me, and some guy Donnie was promoting. We paid a lot of money to get into his after party so the least he could've done was pretended to be in a good mood! People complained about it later & he basically told everyone to shut up about it. Since then, Donnie is at the bottom of my favorite NKOTB list. Even Jon and Danny are ahead of him! In retrospect, I would've much rather met his brother instead!

I remember when Jonathan Brandis died. So sad.

Yeah he doesn't look happy in the pic either. Boo to him for that attitude. It's different if you approached him on the street but in an after party...he should have turned on the charm!
It was like 10 days after one of my birthdays! :( I was so sad.
