Cruising towards 10 days of fun... a July/Nov 2012- & We're BACK!!! Pg.50-51

no it wasn't fun/.....it was our first night so the seas were pretty rough heading out of port and down the coast...was ok the rest of the trip, except when we went back up the coast....now I bring sea bands and meds :thumbsup2 when we cruise!
Oh man. That stinks. :crazy2:

Came back to see your pictures (firewalled at work) and pirate night looks like a big hit. Cute pictures of juliana!
Thanks for coming back! Usually when people read my writing they run and don't come back!!! :lmao::lmao:

luvin the update. Luv the Mickey heads in the sauces on the plates. I want to put my ketchup in the shape of a Mickey head forevermore :)
Me too! Mickey head everything! :rotfl:

I have to say, sailing out of New York seems very appealing, especially with the view such as yours! My older DD went to NY on a school trip in HS, and I wanted a picture with her and the Statue. I got her and Statue feet.....:confused3
Sailing out of NYC is easy for us. It's less than 1 1/2 hours to the port and I don't have to pay for airfare. It is a great view too!

That's too funny!!! :rotfl:

I've seen the pirate party on a couple different TR's now and it seems like it would be a fun time. Julianna's dress is so cute.
The pirate party was fun! I have some more pics of it coming up!

Looks like a blast so far, too bad you were left sitting holding the sweater!
Well, I wasn't cold! :lmao:

Loved the b-day party decor! Your friend is very talented.
She is!!! She was an ebay/etsy seller but had to stop due to 'unreasonable demands' by the buyers. :faint:

I hope to be back later with an update but I just checked the countdown app on my phone and we are 42 days away!!!!!!!!

I have no idea where the time has gone. We looked over all our ADRs last night and we still like everything we have. The one thing that we are not sure about is CRT. At $55/pp for lunch it seems like I can get a better meal somewhere else for a lot less money. I need to discuss this with our friends Dave & Branda who are still going with us and see what they think.

Disney announced that the attire for meals would be relaxed but we saw people in bathing suits at dinner. Not that we were all decked out but even a lady sitting at our table had her shirt open with her bikini top showing. But I digress....

Not that you were looking. :rolleyes1

When you arrive at Animator's Palate the entire restaurant is black and white. As dinner moves along splashes of color are added until the whole restaurant is colored by the end of dinner. It is pretty neat to watch.

It is pretty cool. I guess that doesn't happen on the new ships, though.

But I did get a shot of Juliana's ketchup...

WE NEED KETCHUP!!!!

Sorry, wrong restaurant.

We made it to the theater and Melody was cold. The show was about to start so I told the girls to find a seat and I would run back to the room to get her sweater. By the time I got back to the show, it had already started and was pitch black. I couldn't find the girls so I sat by myself, holding Melody's sweater. LOL

:rotfl2: Well, at least your hands were warm.

Why has this concept not been introduced in the parks yet??? :confused3

One thing I thought was lacking during dinner was some crowd interaction or even a little show.
I thought the restaurant was the show.

I couldn't find the girls so I sat by myself, holding Melody's sweater. LOL
Well that was a useful trip back to the room. :lmao:

I did get a few shots of the show.... of course with no flash.
Sounds like you got the flash at dinner.:rotfl2:

::yes::
Will Tigger be dancing around your table though?

Not that you were looking. :rolleyes1
How can I put this nicely.... :scratchin

errrrr.....

No, I wasn't. :scared1:

Sorry, wrong restaurant.
LOL... They didn't even leave the bottle here. I think we had 15-20 bottles on our table at WCC. :lmao:

:rotfl2: Well, at least your hands were warm.
That they were. ::yes::

Why has this concept not been introduced in the parks yet??? :confused3
Good question. popcorn::

I thought the restaurant was the show.
I guess it was. I thought they would of done something with the kids. :confused3

Sounds like you got the flash at dinner.:rotfl2:
I would have preferred not. :rolleyes1

Will Tigger be dancing around your table though?
Only if they let him into the castle.

Once The Villains Tonight! show had come to an end, I hurried out of the theater to wait for Melody and Juliana. I waited and waited. No sight of them. The last few people came out. I went back into the theater to see if they were sitting there waiting for me- NOPE.

I was thinking... 'If I was Melody, where would I have gone?' I walked down the hall and checked both gift shops and I still didn't find them. I stayed outside the gift shops for a few minutes, then I decided just to head back to the room. They would have to show up sometime.

After being in the room for about 2 minutes I hear someone at the door... It's the girls! They were looking for me and couldn't find me so they came back to the room.

We had a new friend on our bed.

Juliana was really excited to see that she didn't have to sleep on the couch! She was jumping around because her bed came out of the ceiling. She couldn't wait to climb up there but there was no time for sleep. We had to go outside for the pirate party!

Pirate Juliana was ready to party!

We found a spot on the deck above the party and had a great view.

It wasn't long till some characters joined the party.

It didn't take long for some real pirates to crash the party. Captain Hook and Smee thought since it was a pirate party they were invited. It wasn't long till Mickey made a grand entrance and regained control of the party. (I didn't have pictures of this because I was manning the video camera)

A few minutes after there were explosions off the starboard side... Fireworks!

Sorry for the poor pictures. I have to admit, I was a tad disappointed with the fireworks. I thought they would of been timed out to music like Wishes but they were just blasting in the air. I guess we are just spoiled. We did enjoy seeing them though. After the fireworks ended we called it a night. It was close to 11pm by this time and I think we were all getting tired.

Up next... An unexpected sea day.

too funny you all missed each other after the show!
love the towel animal! always fun to sleep on a bed that comes out of the wall :rotfl: hope she didn't bump her head sitting up!

pirate party looks fun, Juliana looks cute in her eye patch!
yes the fireworks aren't as good as in the parks, but hey fireworks at sea is cool!

All caught up! I can't believe people were THAT casual at dinner. I mean at the buffet (what is it on the Magic, Topsiders?) I can see it but...in Animators????

Shorts is one thing. Bikini top????

Ugh.

No, the fireworks aren't the same but it is still awfully cool. I know we loved them on the Dream since we didn't get to see them in Alaska (not allowed).

Awfully cute pirate girl you've got there!

So you are running in January! You doing the 1/2 or the whole? popcorn::popcorn::

I am!!!! Well I hope to be. :rotfl2: Doing or hoping to finish the half. I am committed I just hope the body cooperates. :rotfl2:

A great night and AAARRRGGGHH on pirate night.

It was pirate night not beach blanket bingo night. Bikini huh?

I had to chuckle about sitting alone after you got back to the theater .... with Melody's sweater. :worried: Sorry you didn't get to enjoy the show with the girls and glad you all caught up afterwards.

Luvin the update. Juliana is the cutest pirate ever!

She loved the bunk bed. I think she would love to sleep in that everyday. :goodvibes

Me either. We saw this particular girl throughout the day and then we sat with her at dinner. What were the chances? :rotfl2:

Shorts is one thing. Bikini top????

Ugh.
Yup.

I honestly thought of taking a picture.... but that would of been a little weird. :lmao:

We enjoyed them... Once the last one went off we were heading inside to go nitenite.

Awfully cute pirate girl you've got there!
Thanks!!!! princess:

What cha going to do... at least I was warm. :rotfl:

awww thanks! :goodvibes

I kind of know how your sea day turns out...sort of....was given a bit of a tidbit about it from a little birdie we both know.

I like Villians Tonight the 2nd time much better. The first time I was sort of ehhhh...this time I liked it.

Pirate night is fun. I agree the fireworks are nearly as nice as at the parks, but still it's pretty awesome for being ones at sea.

I'm sure you had plenty of time to discuss.... being that you were together for a week or so. :thumbsup2

I guess we will have to take another Disney cruise so I can see if I have the same experience as you. :rotfl2:

True... I wouldn't mind seeing those again too. :lmao::lmao:

Nov. Trip Update

Ever make plans for lunch that fell through, ever plan a night out with the wife (or husband) that had to get postponed, ever plan a weekend getaway that had to be canceled? How about planning a trip to Disney with 2 other families for over a year- what resort to stay at, what days to do what park, where and where not to eat, and have both families back out a month before the trip.

One family had their furnace blow up and the other family who has lived away from home for the last 4 years just sold their house in Indiana and are moving back to CT. Their closing is on the day that we are leaving. Juliana is disappointed that her friends aren't coming but I think she will get over it once we get to Disney. ;)

There was thoughts of us canceling too. But we haven't been to Disney since last March, and while that might not seem that long ago for some people, that is too long for us. We are going forward- with a few changes. First, as bad as we wanted to stay at POFQ, we changed resorts to CSR & POP. CSR from 11/2-11/11 and POP for the last night. We saved $400 in the process from the newest deal that came out. Second, we talked my mom into coming with us. She has always wanted to go with us to Disney. Her friend, is coming for the first few days as well. Third, we have been going back and forth with ADRs. I think we are keeping most of what we originally booked- we might dump CRT and try to add something else- but that is still up for debate.

So our 'EPIC' trip has gone from EPIC to not happening back to EPIC... even if it is going to be a little different that originally planned.

I should have a few more trip details and revised plans soon, as well as trying to finish up this cruise TR that has taken me waaaaaaaay too long to write.

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear your other friends have had to back out too! I can see where your disappointment is coming from, but you will still have an amazing time. We are staying at Pop the 8-12th. PLUS with your mom coming you and Melody may be able to have a night out with just the two of you or some time alone with Juliana. Have you signed up for the Jingle Jungle 5K yet? Hopefully I will see you there!

I'm just glad you are still going! And $400 is nothing to sneeze at.

I know all too well how those things can fall apart at the last minute.

FINALLY I get to know what is going on! :goodvibes

Well, at least y'all are still going!! And at least your friends didn't flake on you for no good reason. Sounds like they had some pretty big things come up, I'm just sorry they couldn't come with you.

But you know as well as anyone, there will be other Dis'ers there at the same time that you could possibly meet up with and you, and your sweet little family will have a blast no matter who's there. ::yes::
Besides isn't this Christopher's first trip where he'll be aware of what's going on around him? You'll want to be caught up in that so you can see his reactions to everything!! :goodvibes
If you're there with friends you won't be able to be as concentrated on him. In fact, make that the big reason y'all are going now and then Juliana will get in on the fun, she'll learn to see things through a "first timers," eyes. :lovestruc
Seeing it through a first timers eyes is so much fun, and when you go with a baby, the first few years it's always like going with a first timer, it's always new to them again!! :goodvibes

Tim, I hate that you had to change some plans, but really, if it is that important to have a friend from Indiana tag along... :rolleyes1

bummer your friends had to back out!
what a fun treat though...grandma, Juliana & Christopher get to experience disney together, that will make some wonderful memories for you all!

I am so sad it all fell apart. But Julianna will be able to meet some new friends like Claire and Kadence this trip too.
