Cruising towards 10 days of fun... a July/Nov 2012- & We're BACK!!! Pg.50-51

great depature pictures, maybe the sail boat thought he was lining up for a race to see who could get out to sea quicker.
:rotfl:

my money would be on your boat.
:thumbsup2

great photos! Juliana looks so cute in her pirate dress!

did they not wait to have everyone check in for the life boat drills before they released you? on our HI cruise we had to wait for EVERYONE!

:rotfl2: about the sail boat, some people sure are clueless :confused3:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Luvin the update and Juliana's pirate dress :thumbsup2

Love love the pirate dress! How cute!

So odd about the sailboat, talk about asleep at the wheel! I can only imagine what kind of fine that could end up being.

Seeing all the sights around NYC from a boat would be really cool. Seeing them from a Disney Cruise ship would be totally frickin' awesome! :thumbsup2

As we were passing the Statue, the Magic blasted it's 'When You Wish Upon A Star' horn. It scared the crap out of us... It was so loud and we were standing right in front of it. Don't know what that sounds like? I found a clip of it HERE! It was soooo cool!!! I need that horn for my boat!!! LOLOL
I really think you should get the musical horn for your boat. :thumbsup2 Mel would appreciate it, wouldn't she?

After we passed the Statue, the ship blasted it's regular horn 5 times. Out in front of us in the channel was a sailboat who was just sitting. It's sails weren't even full of air. As we got closer the Magic's horn blared 5 more times. According to maritime signals the 5 blasts mean “I am in doubt about your action taken to avoid collision” After the 2nd set of horns the sailboat turned to port and slowly made it's way out of the channel. I have no idea why he was sitting there for so long, nor do I know why he didn't move after the first set of horns. It's not like he didn't see us.
That is without a doubt, the worst pirate I've ever seen.

Just catching up! Sorry Juliana hasn't been feeling well. Hope she's doing better. And I'm sorry your friends can't make the November trip with you. That's pretty craptacular. I'm sure they'd rather be with you.

Anyway, we made it back outside to find a good spot to watch the ship depart. I think a few other people had the same idea...

I bet nobody watches it from the engine room. Why didn't you head there?:confused3

1 of the few pictures of the 3 of us on this whole trip.

Nice shirt! Disney's lawyers are on the other line.

The Space Shuttle Enterprise was there but under wraps...

Boo.

I think I took this exact pic on our last cruise out of NYC...

Cool shot! :thumbsup2

Why not your car too? See if you can also install it on some of Christopher's toys.

I think Andy summed it up best. :rotfl2:

Fabulous update. I am sailing on her in 7 days...yippee! Can you tell I am excited...so could you finish this TR up in the next couple of days for my research purposes! :rotfl2:

What a cummy in the sail boat. I swear when we watched the Fantasy leave NYC on web cams there were stupid boats like that too....going right in front of her and crossing. I was biting nails at times.

Now for the birthday party...Where did you get those awesome decorations? I may need to get some for my little Disney lover...or just throw myself a Disney party.

:rotfl:
It was a little breezy but there was no way he was going to outrun us. Maybe he fell asleep? :confused3

my money would be on your boat.
:thumbsup2
::yes::

great photos! Juliana looks so cute in her pirate dress!
Thank you!

did they not wait to have everyone check in for the life boat drills before they released you? on our HI cruise we had to wait for EVERYONE!
No they didn't wait... i don't know why. They kept calling the same 4-5 families names over and over.

:rotfl2: about the sail boat, some people sure are clueless :confused3:rotfl2::rotfl2:
If he was under sail that's one thing but he was literally just sitting there. :confused3

Luvin the update and Juliana's pirate dress :thumbsup2
Thank you!

Love love the pirate dress! How cute!
Melody found it on etsy.... I hope that was a one time purchase and she doesn't frequent that site. :scared:

So odd about the sailboat, talk about asleep at the wheel! I can only imagine what kind of fine that could end up being.
I'm pretty sure if we hit him it would be our fault, but there is no way he didn't see us. pirate:

This was our 2nd cruise out of NYC. Being on the river gives you a great perspective of the city.

I really think you should get the musical horn for your boat. :thumbsup2 Mel would appreciate it, wouldn't she?
Yea, she would love that. You know if I had that horn I'd be blasting it every 2 seconds. :rotfl2:

That is without a doubt, the worst pirate I've ever seen.
Maybe it was his first day? :lmao:

I ran too. Trying to make the most of it while the weather has cooled down.

And yes having signed up and committed IS motivation. :rotfl2:
So you are running in January! You doing the 1/2 or the whole? popcorn::popcorn::

Christopher's birthday looks like a great time and Nice pictures of NYC from the ship.
Thx!

Just catching up! Sorry Juliana hasn't been feeling well. Hope she's doing better. And I'm sorry your friends can't make the November trip with you. That's pretty craptacular. I'm sure they'd rather be with you.
Thanks Mark... Juliana took her last dose of antibiotics today and she has been better since Monday/tuesday. I hope she can stay well for a while.

I bet nobody watches it from the engine room. Why didn't you head there?:confused3
The engineer probably watches it from there. :confused3

Nice shirt! Disney's lawyers are on the other line.
Tell them I'm in a meeting.

Why not your car too? See if you can also install it on some of Christopher's toys.
Not a bad idea!

Fabulous update. I am sailing on her in 7 days...yippee! Can you tell I am excited...so could you finish this TR up in the next couple of days for my research purposes! :rotfl2:
Have you seen how long it has taken me to write, what, 3 updates? I don't think I'm gonna make it in time! :lmao: :lmao:

What a cummy in the sail boat. I swear when we watched the Fantasy leave NYC on web cams there were stupid boats like that too....going right in front of her and crossing. I was biting nails at times.
People are stupid. There I said it. Add boating and in many cases alcohol and they are even stupider.

Now for the birthday party...Where did you get those awesome decorations? I may need to get some for my little Disney lover...or just throw myself a Disney party.
Melody and our friend Jamie (the one who was going with us to Disney) made them. She was selling Mickey invites and decorations on ebay but she stopped because she said people were crazy. They would put an order in for like 60 invitations and want them overnighted that day. She couldn't deal with it anymore. Let me know if you want something... I'm sure she would make them if I asked her. ::MickeyMo

After passing the Statue of Liberty and avoiding a collision with a sailboat, we made our way back to our stateroom to get ready for dinner. Our dinner was at Animator's Palate. Since we were only on a 2 night cruise the first night was pirate night.

DSC04298.jpg

Disney announced that the attire for meals would be relaxed but we saw people in bathing suits at dinner. Not that we were all decked out but even a lady sitting at our table had her shirt open with her bikini top showing. But I digress....

When you arrive at Animator's Palate the entire restaurant is black and white. As dinner moves along splashes of color are added until the whole restaurant is colored by the end of dinner. It is pretty neat to watch.

Juliana was excited to get a glow pirate cup..

DSC04301.jpg

We really enjoyed dinner and the atmosphere of the restaurant. I don't remember everything we ate but I remember we had crab cakes & pot stickers for appetizers. I had conch chowder too. For my entree I had grilled shrimp and scallops. I was so hungry, I didn't take pictures of our food. I know- I'm a bad DISer.

But I did get a shot of Juliana's ketchup...

Juliana's dessert...

DSC04307.jpg

And my dessert....

DSC04308.jpg

By the end of dinner, Simba was colored...

DSC04303.jpg

And Little Red Riding Ana was full.

DSC04306.jpg

One thing I thought was lacking during dinner was some crowd interaction or even a little show. But I guess it was OK since we were going to see a show.. Villains Tonight! On our way to the theatre we bumped into an old friend...

DSC04311.jpg

We made it to the theater and Melody was cold. The show was about to start so I told the girls to find a seat and I would run back to the room to get her sweater. By the time I got back to the show, it had already started and was pitch black. I couldn't find the girls so I sat by myself, holding Melody's sweater. LOL

I did get a few shots of the show.... of course with no flash.

It was a good show... kinda silly. There were many references to current events and some jokes that were aimed at adults. Now that we've seen it once, I would skip it if we ever cruised again however.

Up next.... A party fit for a pirate!

Hi Tim,
reporting back for duty ;) after our trip to Florida.
I was pleased to see that even though I was gone for 4 weeks there were only three updates! :woohoo: Exactly what I like, easy to catch up!
But you may now proceed with posting more updates. :rotfl2:

Honestly, I was SO happy to read about Juliana being cancer free. Hope her foot is better by now and she is all okay again.
I loved the update with pics of Christopher's birthday party, even though I had seen the pics on FB.
Plus, I LOVED the cruise updates. But you really need to get on one of the new ships. They are just awesome. How do I tell - 9 days of experience this summer. ;)
Juliana (and I guess her parents) would LOVE the Aquaduck! :thumbsup2

I can't see pictures at night but your dinner at Animators Palette sounds pretty cool.

Yike to the lady in the bathing suit at dinner.

I have my first cruise booked for next october so I will will remember what you said about the Villians Tonight. Just eh!

you have quite the cute little pirate princess!
really, swim suits :crazy2: you'd think they would of turned them away :confused3

dessert does look yummy! I missed the whole restaurant getting color when we went on the Magic in 05 due to getting sea sick

hope you enjoyed the other entertainment a bit more!

I'm sorry to hear that Juliana wasn't feeling well, but I'm glad she's doing better now!!! Christopher's party looks like so much fun! All of the Disney food looks awesome!!

:scared: at the swimwear at dinner! Glad to hear you guys had a good time though!!

A 4 week trip? That will happen only in my dreams! :rotfl2:

I hope you had a great time! :goodvibes

She is walking normally again. I think she strained her arch and it took a few days to heal.

I loved the update with pics of Christopher's birthday party, even though I had seen the pics on FB.

I hope to get back on a Disney cruise within a few years... I really hope that happens. :coffee:

It was a great dinner! Not to mention you can finish it off with a Mickey Bar. What's better than that? :thumbsup2

The Villains show was OK. Seeing it once was enough for us. ;)

you have quite the cute little pirate princess!
really, swim suits :crazy2: you'd think they would of turned them away :confused3
I think they were very lax with the dinner attire on this cruise. Maybe cuz it was a short trip... :confused3

dessert does look yummy! I missed the whole restaurant getting color when we went on the Magic in 05 due to getting sea sick
Ewww... that doesn't sound like fun.

hope you enjoyed the other entertainment a bit more!
::yes::

Thank you! Juliana is doing much better. The foot issue and the sickness are both gone. WHEW! :scared:

no it wasn't fun/.....it was our first night so the seas were pretty rough heading out of port and down the coast...was ok the rest of the trip, except when we went back up the coast....now I bring sea bands and meds :thumbsup2 when we cruise!

Came back to see your pictures (firewalled at work) and pirate night looks like a big hit. Cute pictures of juliana!

luvin the update. Luv the Mickey heads in the sauces on the plates. I want to put my ketchup in the shape of a Mickey head forevermore :)

I have to say, sailing out of New York seems very appealing, especially with the view such as yours! My older DD went to NY on a school trip in HS, and I wanted a picture with her and the Statue. I got her and Statue feet.....:confused3

I've seen the pirate party on a couple different TR's now and it seems like it would be a fun time. Julianna's dress is so cute.

Looks like a blast so far, too bad you were left sitting holding the sweater!

Loved the b-day party decor! Your friend is very talented.
