What's it like? Are the waters smooth or choppy? Is it as pretty as the ocean, or lackluster? What is winter weather like in the gulf? Any other noticings or comments about the experience?

Gulf of Mexico is beautiful, it flows right into the Caribbean.

Smooth if there are no storms.

Are you talking about cruising out of Galveston’s?

Have not cruised out of New Orleans or Galveston but have vacationed on Florida’s west coast.

We'll be cruising out of Galveston. We're Texans & have been there several times. We just haven't cruised the gulf.

As mentioned, it all depends on the weather. We did a 4 night our of Galveston last year in November and on day 3 we were in some weather, really windy day which cause a little bit of motion but noting really bad.

A couple of years ago we cruised out of Galveston on the Wonder to the Bahamas. We had a little bit of rough seas but nothing too bad. I remember it getting calmer as we got closer to Florida. Like others have mentioned it is all weather dependent.
