We just booked a last minute cruise, will be sailing 7-day Western on June 27th. It is our first time on a cruise!

I am unable to get any reservations at Palo. Do you think anything will open up?

My DS is 4.5, so he will go to Oceaneer's, but my DD is 2 months shy of turning 3, and fully potty trained. Is there any way she can join her brother? Or should I make reservations at Flounders?

Thanks!

Congratulations on booking a cruise!! It is almost time.

Palo- You can keep checking, nothing wrong with that, and if that fails, you can go to Rockin bar D as soon as you board. This is where they take dining requests, palo ressies, etc. They keep a certain amount for people who do book last minute, no internet, etc. There is a wait list also. The earlier you get there the better.

I would book Flounders as an "in case'', and cancel it in time for no penalty to you. You can go see the kids club counselors in the terminal, before you board, and explain the situation. They often will do this on a 'trial basis', providing there is enough space, etc.

Also just in regards to the potty training, she must be fully trained. Able to go to the washroom herself, and clean up, get dressed, and so on.

Good luck to you :)

I think I have read on here that kids under three that are fully potty trained, especially that close to age 3, are allowed in the oceaneers club... as long as they are TOTALLY potty trained. And that means they have to be able to completely go on their own- undress, wipe, dress themselves. The counselors can't help them at all. If she's fully potty trained like to that degree.. it shouldn't be a problem with her going to the oceaneers lab. They frown on accidents though- just FYI.. if she's allowed in and has an accident they probably won't let her back (and they don't allow diapers or pullups from what I've read here.)

I'm unfamiliar with flounders since our first cruise our youngest was in the club- so hopefully someone else can clarify on this... on whether or not you can book flounders and then later cancel it if they let your daughter in the club- without losing any money/getting a refund. But if you can do that, that's probably what I'd do -just in case.

Most likely Palo reservations won't open up online before your cruise. You're welcome to keep checking just in case- just saying it isn't likely to happen and that you'll also be the first one to catch it. However, go to Rockin Bar D as soon as you board the ship and see if you can get your Palo reservations then. Most people have pretty good luck, especially if they are flexible on when they can go to Palo, by doing this. Even if you can't get it right then you can get on the waitlist in case something opens up later. It seems like they most likely do not open every single slot to be taken up by reserving online- which makes sense since not everyone even gets online or knows to book it the very night it opens up to book it. So in other words they usually have some slots still available when you get on the ship even if it shows none online. Give it a try. :)

LOL Mommasita posted it better, shorter and faster than I did. LOL

Thank you so much! Everyone's replies were very helpful.
She is fully potty trained, has been for a while, so hopefully she will be able to join her brother. I will do as suggested and speak to the counselors at the terminal.

So, there is hope at Palo, which is awesome. It is our wedding anniversary, so hoping to get that date, but will settle for anything really!

Make sure you tell them it is your anniversary and I am sure some pixie dust will be sprinkled to make sure you get in to Palo. You can also call your TA or DCL direct and explain to them and see what they can do for you.
