Anyone go cruising in November? Is this a good time of year? How're the weather & the seas? Are there any problems with cruises being cancelled this time of year? I don't even know if it's still hurricaine season!!! I just saw a special in DCL for a great price but there MUST be a reason for this!! Thanks for any info!!

Looks like November might not be possible, considering the beginning of December.... any ideas about that time? Better or worse than Nov? Thanks again!!:D

This will be our third cruise and we cruise in November everytime. The weather is warm (80's) without being too hot and sticky....I personally think its the best time to go!

after some positive replies from DIS members we also booked to cruise this November:) Can't wait!:):):bounce: :Pinkbounc :sunny:

Hey there:wave2: We are also first time cruisers and picked November because of the great price. We have heard really good things about this time of year. We are going on the November 27th eastern car. How about you?

WE ARE SO EXCITED:goodvibes

We're going on the Land & Sea from Nov 11-13 at the Beach Club and 14-18 on the Wonder!

We're on the Nov 6th cruise this year and hoping for good weather. We cruised during early November in 2002 also and had perfect sunny 80-85 degree weather. It only drizzled a little on CC morning. Rain was gone by 9 am.
During our Nov 2002 cruise we did hear that the same week in 2001 did not have very good weather. Realize it's the tail end of Hurricane season so there's always a chance for less-than-optimal weather I suppose.
Fingers crossed here !

DH and I cruised for our honeymoon 11/7/99. It was rough. We had high (20-23') seas, and rain on and off. There was a hurricane brewing, and it made for an interesting cruise. HOWEVER... we're seriously considering cruising Thanksgiving of '05, so obviously we're not scarred by the experience!!! It just depends on the luck of the draw. There can be storms, but it can also be perfect weather!

if we cruise this year it'll be on the Nov 14-18 Wonder :) We cruised last year Nov 16-20, and the weather was PERFECT. A storm rolled in around 3pm on our last day (we were at CCay), but it didn't start raining on the island before we left. The Captain did however try to stay in front of the storm all the way back to Port C ... hauling buns all the way ... we got into Port C about an hour or hour & a half early :)

That's the same one we're on, Susan!

Stuart,

Well, if we end up cruisin' then we'll have to have a Dis meet. ;)

We're specifically looking at the Nov 14-18 cruise because there will be a "pin event" onboard for that cruise. And the theme this year happens to be villains, and hubby is HUGE villains collector, so gee, I just "have" to go on that cruise. :teeth:

When we cruised in November of 2002 on the Wonder we were on from the 17th - 21st. The 16th it POURED rain in Florida all day long and was so miserable and cold. The 17th we went to Animal Kingdom before we went to the ship and we were freezing in Sweatshirts and jeans (and we LIVE IN UTAH with SNOW). When we went to the port we had an issue with our KTTW magnetic strips on a couple of our cards so by the time we got that sorted out and were ready to walk onto the ship they stopped us just short of the ramp because the wind was blowing so badly that it wasnt safe to walk up the ramp as the ship had moved about 8 inches away from the dock. We had to wait about 20 min while they pulled the ship back to the dock before we got on board. Our embarkation picture is of us in Jeans and sweatshirts freezing to death. The sailaway was cool and Nassau was really cool compared to what it should have been. We were wearing shorts but I needed a sweatshirt. Freeport was warmer and pretty nice compared to Florida and Nassau and then on CC it rained on and off all day long. They gave us all rain ponchos at the exit onto the pier at CC and we used them quite a few times. I would say it was a pretty miserable cruise the entire time with wind, rain, cooler temps and the water temps in the bahamas were on the cool side. We've done cruises deeper into the Caribbean later in Nov all the way through March and they've all been hot but not this one.

We cruised 11/15/03 and got an extra surpise Sunday morning. They put the Christmas tree up in the atrium over night & the ship was just beautiful with all the decorations. We chose 12/4/04 because I just couldn't bear to think of seeing the Magic without the tree. :) I am looking forward to seeing the snow on CC this year too!!! We boarded in shorts & Tshirts & it was warm & sunny...sometimes hot...all week.

Cruise with us, on the Dec 11th Eastern. :sunny:
