We are booked on the Wish in mid January. What kind of weather have you experienced? Should we postpone?

It can be cooler - but typically not more than a few degrees. Depends on your opinion of what’s hot / cold / comfortable. Prices are hard to beat. And it’s not hurricane season!

We went to castaway first week of February this year. The air temps were perfect. The water was too cold for us - we are from Georgia. There were a few brave souls in the water - not too many!

We've gone in January the last two years - once on Dream and then on the Wish. It was great and we're doing the Dream again this year.

We did January of this year and we found it quite warm. We didn't get off the ship so I can't say what the water at CC was like but we were comfortable in the pools.

We were there in January 2020 and I much preferred that weather to a trip we did in May after the pandemic. I really hate humidity though, so I was happy to have it sunny and pleasant but not hot.

Expect it to be chilly!! I am a Florida girl so admittedly a big wimp. I do not go in the ocean in January, lol. Or, even the pool because when you get out and are on deck, it's freezing with the wind!

That said, I'd never turn down a cruise - even if it was chilly!

I would NEVER tell you to postpone. I can merely tell you our experience. Please keep in mind, no two trips will ever be the same with winds, etc. BUT one think you can likely count on is water temps. I will tell you when we’ve gone in Jan/Feb, and water at CC is cold. Period.
We had a trip once where it was SOOOO windy on deck, we couldn’t even go out on the decks. Wind was slamming doors shut, howling so bad it hurt your ears. We personally have sworn off sailing in that time frame from that one trip alone but it could be different. There’s just more to keep in mind is all. Definately pack a jacket/sleeve for time on deck as it will likely be chilly at night and this will also impact the Aqua duck / Mouse. They don’t typically run it if it‘s too windy. So again, perhaps more variables to consider Is all.

We also went this past January. Weather was great and there was only maybe one night where we wore long sleeves and that was mainly because of the wind. Otherwise we were very comfortable in short sleeves. Water felt cold initially, but you get used to it. Kids ended up playing in the water both at Nassau and Castaway Cay. No issues at all.

We cruised in January several years ago and the winds made the waves too rough to dock at Castaway Cay. The captain tried several times but just couldn't risk damaging the ship and endangering the passengers.
