Every now and then there is a question regarding getting invited to DVC activities if you did not use points to cruise.

We are sailing on Jan 4th, and today we got a phone call from the DVC reps who will be on board. We were invited to the DVC activity on the first sea day. There will be a surprise visitor before the event and adult beverages as well as a drawing for $200 on board credit.

So, somehow DVC learned we were sailing. We booked this around Halloween.

Happened to us as well in September. It seems they check your MDE profile.

Have a great cruise, and remember to also stop by the DVC booth every evening- they give you a different small gift daily.

I've always wondered how they are so efficient in knowing a member is onboard. They surprise us every time (door magnets, invitations) as we too don't use points to cruise, nor went to the initial meet onboard.

Strange they never know we are members, even made note on our reservation with our travel agent. We have to tell the DVC people on board every time:confused3.

They have names, phone numbers, email addresses...doesn't seem hard for them to figure it out. Especially for those of us who use the same email address for DVC and DCL accounts.

This happened with us this past spring - a call in advance, DVC magnet on cabin door when we arrived, some other free goodies like hats and a draw string bag. We used no points for our cruise and are even resale buyers, no direct points for us...gasp!

I am not sure we have ever gotten the call before the cruise, but we are on the list of DVC member and a gift is in the cabin and a magnet on the door. You can check with the DVC CM at the port in the check in area of the terminal to make sure they have you on the DVC list. The CM will give you a DVC lanyard and later you will receive the DVC gift in your cabin including the magnet.

No questions, the mouse knows all.
Your name and other information is in the DB that they share. It is cross-checked all the time for opportunities to cross-sale/promote Disney.

I've never sailed using points and have usually gotten a call for invitation to something or just to say come by and see us.

They've always included us as well. My Disney account information is all under the same email, my address is the same - the data normalization that needs to happen is that the DVC membership has my husband's name first, while all our reservations have our name first. But names, addresses and phone numbers match between my various Disney accounts. Disney IT isn't great, but that's a pretty easy report to get.
