We are talking about cruising over Halloween in 2010. I realize that it is far off but our kids will still be young. Does anyone know if they get to dress up or have a party? Anything? We just don't want the smaller kids to feel like they missed out on Halloween.;)

Oh yes a big Adultsa and kids parade and when I was on a halloween cruise nearly everyone took part and their costumes were excellent.

There was trick and treating in the ship, and the CM's dressed as pirates and the characters in costume, and special themed activities in places such as Studio sea, beat st etc.

We cruised our first DCL cruise over Halloween! It was great but VERY crowded for the parade in the ship. We did a roll call trick or treat with some candy, some gadgets from Oriental Trading CO, and a poem/clue thing on each door - that was the greatest!

If you're thinking of doing the 7-day western that sails during Halloween, there are already some of us booked for that cruise. Come join us at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1985164 . The OP is on the Magic this week, so he should be able to tel us what Halloween treats he experienced when he gets back on land.

Hi - it's my 1st time posting anything anywhere.....feels kinda weird. My family and I also booked for the October 30-Nov 6, 2010 western DCL. Can't wait......only 736 days left...

We just got back on Nov. 2 from the Wonder Halloween Cruise. It was so great. Yes the kids and big kids dressed up. My daughter was a witch, she got to trick-or-treat also. They had like 9 stations in different parts of the ship for them to go to. They were given a map as to where to go, it was a lot of fun. Nothing like spending Halloween in the Bahamas.

I'm sailing on the 3 day Wonder cruise that starts on 10/31/10. The only thing that makes me nervous is because the cruise actually starts on Halloween, will there be enough time or any activities at all for Halloween...but then I try to tell myself, it's a DISNEY cruise! My kids might not even notice!!

Just sailed on the Magic October 25 - November 1. We had rough seas and had to change ports of call. Our Thursday changed from a sea day to a stop at Key West. Friday was October 31. DCL trick or treat got rescheduled so that people were rushing to get back to the ship in time for kids to dress. They started the t-o-t'ing early; the lines were long (lots of kids on this cruise - and lots of Castaway Club members - 1500+, so people were expecting a great Disney Halloween experience).

Overall, I have heard very few positive things about this year's Halloween. :sad2:

I did not participate, nor did the teenagers in my family. There were some great adult costumes which were judged after dinner in the atrium. Semi-formal night and Halloween costumes ended up on the same night.

But Friday was CC, and people wouldn't have liked rushing in from there, either, I don't suppose.

On the flip side, our DIS group had a great Halloween (from all reports), where kids followed clues to find the next station (not just a map) and got a Halloween bag filled with candy at the end of the hunt. Adults volunteered at the clue stations and as escorts. This was on a sea day and kids didn't wear costumes that day.

Hello Lynne! Just thought I'd give a shout out from one Alabamian to another. I live in Cullman, Alabama just about 45 minutes south of Huntsville. We are cruising next December for Christmas. Have you ever sailed at Christmas? This will be my family's very first cruise and my youngest DS (4) first time to Disney World. We have boked a Land and Sea Pkg. Just thought I'd say hi. I always think it's cool to meet someone on these boards so close to home.
