Cruisin' MAYniacs - May 14-17, 2009

Newbie here!!! We are doing our first Disney Cruise on May 14 too! A small introduction: Me, Colleen (37), DH, Erin (35), DD, Mackenzie (3), and DS, Will (will be 7 months old at the time of the cruise). We are from Atlanta, GA. Mackenzie is soooo excited about this cruise and can't stop talking about it! In fact, it was the incentive behind potty training and it worked!!!

Hope to get to know every one a bit before we head out!

Hello! This will be my 2nd cruise....1st Disney Cruise and my DH and DS's 1st cruises ever! We are so excited! This board has been so helpful in planning my cruise and I just wanted to thank everyone for being so nice and informative. I'm still trying to understand all of the abbreviations and such, but I think I'm getting the hang of it. I kind of enjoy just being a spectator at this point but hopefully after our cruise, I will be more active in posting. I'm really interested in the Fish Extenders idea, but I'm not sure I totally get it yet...haha. Thanks again and I look forward to reading more posts!!

So DS reminded me that we will be cruising in exactly two months from today. Woo Hoo!!!

With that being said I just realized that I don't have the first thing ready yet. I need to get a move on making door magnets. Anyone else making door magnets????

I am hoping we are still doing Fish Extenders. I know several of us are interested I guess we just need someone to step up and organize it. I wouldn't mind doing it but was really hoping someone who had been involved in them before would step up....any takers?????

C'mon people....let's get excited....let's get talking...let's get planning!!!

Hope that everyone is having a great weekend!

After booking way back in September, can't believe how close we are getting to our vacation!

This is the start of my boy's spring break and wouldn't you know after two weeks of 80 degree weather it is in the forties! I know I won't get any sympathy from those of you from the great white north~

I think we aren't going to book any excursions, just poke around everywhere at our own pace and take it easy.

I have found some GREAT ideas for FE gifts on the homemade FE thread. Anyone checked it out?

I'm making door magnets, but I don't have a clue where to get the paper! I've looked at a couple of office supply stores and no one has had it in stock.

We are doing the same as you....not booking any excursions...just kind of doing things at our own pace. I think it will be nice.

I have checked out the homemade FE thread...but it has been a while. From what I remember though there are some great ideas out there.

If the weather holds out we are going to go camping this weekend but I am vowing to work on our door magnets and possibly FE's the following weekend.

I am ready to CRUISE!!!!

I just ordered dd and ds a pair of Disney Crocs for our cruise! I am getting so excited!!!!

DW(30), loves to cruise...The glue that keeps us together.
DS(6 - just before cruise) has no idea we're going.
DD(5) Our little princess, loves everything Disney
DS(3 - Onboard) - Can't get enough "Mickey's Ship"
Me(40 - the Monday after we get back) - love Disney, can't cruise enough

This makes, way too many cruises in a short amount of time. Just seanking away for a quick one. But believe me, we enjoy the time away. We've already started the countdown. Have a few things to do in the time between now and then. Just trying to stay focused.

My name is Kat, we live in CT and this will be our 3rd Disney Cruise ... we are addicted!!

I maintain a list of who is on our cruise ... so if you refer back to post #2 on page 1, take a look at the info that we maintain and post yours and I will get you added to our list!!

Regarding the fish extenders ... in a nutshell, it's just a neat way of giving small gifts to your fellow DIS cruisers and getting back to your room at night and having small gifts waiting for you ... could be pens, pencils, magnets, small notebooks, etc ... whatever you think would be nice. You don't have to participate and we haven't totally figured out how we are organizing it but we will get that info laid out SOON (as in 1 family assigned to another family, 1 person to 1 person or just a free for all!).

I am doing door magnets!! I usually get my supplies from Staples.

I sent Maria (Cruiser1969) a private message and I haven't heard from her yet. I am not sure how long we should wait? She is the only one with first hand experience in that department and she offered so I would like to wait just a little bit longer to hear from her to give her the chance if that's ok with everyone??

Uh, yeah ... we've had 30 degree nights and FROST the last 3 mornings ... I wish I was sorrier!

We aren't doing excursions either. I think we will be taking a cab to a local resort in the Bahamas and using the beach/restaurants for the day but that's about it.

YAY!! All I have done so far is my daughters new bikini (she's 11 and picked out zebra stripes with pink trim ... goodness!) and matching towel and skirt.

I also have to be a little careful ... this trip is a surprise and I've already slipped once but Gabi didn't catch on ... thankfully!!!

All of my documents, paperwork, etc have to be well hidden ... even our itinerary because I told them that my husband has to be back in the firehouse on Friday so that I had a reason to pack the suitcases back up on Thursday morning. I can't wait for the surprise ... it seems like Disney and our relaxing time at the timeshare are really just a means to an end at this point!!

Hello!! I am alive and well . . . just buried under a pile of marking for the last several weeks, so I haven't really had the time to check in on the DIS at all!! I haven't even done a lick of planning for our trip, but this will be our 3rd Disney cruise, so I may be under the impression that it will be a quick and easy task!!

I will head up the fish extender project, but I have never organized one, just participated. I don't think it will be too hard to coordinate.

What I need to know is who is partcipating and how you want you want to disperse the goodies (as mentioned . . . a gift for everyone, just the kids, or matching up small groups so we don't have to buy for everyone???

Why don't we start with a firm list of who wants to particpate.

PM me if you want to participate and I will report back to let you all know how many people are involved!
