Cruisin' MAYniacs - May 14-17, 2009

Shannon,

I am so sorry for your loss.

You are right tho ... the special church message on Easter must have helped you so much with explaining things to the kids. My daughter is 11 and she enjoyed Mass so much this year as she gets older and develops a better understanding of what Easter is all about.

I hope you and your family find peace!!

Here is our group yesterday afteroon. Reece is on the left, Tyler, me (Ryan in my lap) and Reece's brother John.

I had to have Reece help me post a pic!

What a great picture!!! :) My goodness, BOTH sets of brothers look soooo alike!!

Thanks for sharing!!

I am loving the pictures!!!!

Shannon- my heart goes out to you and your family...

I am ready for this trip! I don't think it is ever going stay warm here... Rainy and cold...maybe 50 out!

Great News . . . checked in to the DCL website to find out what CAT12 GTY room I received, and I found out that we were upgraded to a CAT 9 oceanview (porthole) room!!!

Bad News . . . I am stuck with the dreaded and notoriously noisy Room 1062!!!:scared1:

I have to admit, I am a little nervous about this room with all the horrible reviews out there, but I have also read some "It's no big deal" reviews, too, so I'm ready for whatever happens. We'll be packing some ear plugs to help.:thumbsup2

Plus, we plan to stay up late and wake up early to savour every moment of our short 3-day adventure, so we should be good and tired when we finally do hit the sheets . . . noise? what noise?

I hope everyone is getting excited and busily preparing!! :cheer2:

Just a reminder to Shannon, Colleen, and Denise: Please PM me your room number. We need to know where to deliver your FE goodies:yay:

Shannon,
I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved family member. We have two miniature schnauzers and I dread the day we are having to do the same thing:grouphug:

John will not be going with us. It's just us four:banana::banana: However, we do see alot of him. He liked our neighborhood so much he bought a house on the other side of it:rotfl:

:cheer2::cheer2:It's getting closer!!:cool1::cool1:

I have been bugging my TA about our cabin number. She called Disney on Friday and they had not assigned it yet.....said it should be Thur or Fri of this week. This is spring break for us and we are headed to the beach on Thur so it may be Sun night or Monday before I can PM you.

The waiting is killing me.....we booked a Cat 12 GTY and are keeping our fingers crossed for an upgrade!!!!!!

Shannon, I'm so sorry for your loss. Pets are so often just like a member of the family, and it's hard to let them go. :flower3:

1 Month until the cruise everyone!!!!!:woohoo::yay::cheer2::cool1:party:

I asked my kids this morning if they knew what today was. My daughter said "Grandma's birthday?". Nope, not even close. But my son got it right away. Commence countdown!

I have another question for the group - I'm just full of questions aren't I? :rotfl: This time it's about the proper attire for dinner. I've read that the dress for dinner on a 3 night cruise is a little more casual than a 7 night cruise. We won't do shorts, but do you think jeans for my husband and son would be acceptable? We'll probably skip dress up night, but for the other two nights, jeans may be the best I can do for the guys in our party. What do you think?

Jenni

I think jeans will be ok, with a nice shirt. My husband and my son will probably do khakis and/or jeans.

I know a cruise packing tip for ladies is to pack a pair of black dress slacks ... and just rotate shirts with the same pair of pants. Good if you aren't a messy eater!! :lmao:

Kat

All of a sudden, I feel like I am running out of time!!

Has this happened to anyone else??

I haven't started FE gift shopping yet ... just ordered my FE from ebay ... I really need to get cracking!!

Casey and I will have dresses on, DH will be in Khakis and a polo.

Jenni- I thought I had mailed your check out, but it was sitting on the bar/counter. I wanted to let you know. It is on it's way.... I apologize for being slow after you shipped it out so fast!

I need to pick up so FE gifts... still at a loss as to what to do for the adults!

Changed my tune today . . .

I called today and had my stateroom changed . . . not sure if I did the right thing, but after reading more reviews about it, I was scared:scared1:

Now, I'm on on deck 7, mid ship!:cool1:

It was weird, when the CM told me she would try to talk to a manager, she was chipper as anything, just brimming with the Disney sweetness. After she returned, it was like Jeckyl and Hyde!! I think they may have secretly punished my with a even worse room, perhaps!!!:scared1: I think they get a lot of complaints about that room because she tried to convince my it was a "GREAT room and that people rave about it. The manager himself stayed in that room!!!":lmao:

Not for me, thank you . . . I love my sleep!!! I've lost out on my upgrade:sad2:, but now I do not have to worry about pumping stabilizer noises throughout the night! :scared1:

OK, I think I've talked myself down:lmao: Thanks for listening!!

I feel much better now!!!
