Quick check-in for the night. I think we are sitting at probaby about $8000 sold so far for our Habitat garage sale. We'll find out the definite amount at our board meeting in September. So far not as good as we did at this time last year but we'll take it.

I did A LOT of walking, hauling, moving, dragging, throwing of wet boxes, today. I started at 8:30am and we quit at 6:30pm. I sat for probably about a total of 3 hours. So I marked that I did 3 hours of movement/exercise today. I'm not going to mark anything I do tomorrow - which actually will be quite a bit because we have to take down tomorrow after we close. We'll see. I wish I had a decent pedometer because I'll be I did at least 5 miles total today - it sure seemed like it.

Anyway - I was enjoying my new loss today. It really rejuvenated me. Britt and I ran to Panera for lunch and I had lower carb bread, had turkey instead of roast beef and had a fruit cup in place of the chips. Here's what I had today:

breakfast peanut butter chocolate chunk granola bar
fat free yogurt

lunch Smoked Turkey on Italian Herb
Fruit Cup

dinner 3 pieces pizza

Totals: 1600 cals, 46.5 fat grams, 214 carbs, 15 + fiber grams (I don't know how much fiber is in the pizza). I also don't know what the nutritional information is on the pizza so I did estimate it a bit high but I'd rather do that. So cals and fat grams were a bit higher than I'm trying to stay at but I did sneak and get on the scale and I was the same weight I was this morning - with clothes on and having eaten and drinken today.

A pretty good day - it poured overnight but we didn't have stuff that was too wet. We covered it pretty good. Today ended up being beautiful after the clouds moved out. Tomorrow suppose to be the same.

I'll talk to you all maybe tomorrow evening for a bit. I might be able to sneak on before I leave in the morning but not sure. I will be getting on the scale tomorrow morning because I'm curious - of course!

Have a good night - gonna go read some more Harry Potter #5 (gotta get that done so I can read #6).

Thanks everyone!

Keep on

Thanks Laurie!!! It feels pretty good on this end too, I do have to say!!!! :)

Well today was the end of the garage sale and we are waiting for totals. It will be close to $10,000. Because it was the end it was also cleanup and I moved my tail today. I got on the scale this morning and then got on the scale when I got home before we went to dinner and I had lost 1.5 pounds since this morning (not gonna count it though but I was curious and thought it was funny actually). I moved some behind!!!! Anyway - I'm pooped, sunburned (with using sunscreen) and gonna go read for a while. Britt starts school tomorrow, for an hour might I add!!!!

Did okay on food - not gonna count today though since I couldn't get any nutritional information from dinner tonight and it was too hard to try to guess from online. Had a peanut butter chocolate chunk granola bar (low fat) and a fat free cherry yogurt for breakfast at 11 (I know, a bit late but that's how busy I was); half a turkey on wheat sub from subway at 3 and then at dinner I was pretty good. I had two small slices of bread with just a tad butter (and these were probably like 2 inch pieces long and about 1 inch wide), salad with 2 TBSP Ranch dressing (but I started to get full so I only ate half the salad), filet medallions with cherry onions carmelized in red wine sauce, and garlic mashed potatoes. BUT....I was very good. I asked for a togo container and split up my meal - so I had 5 ounces of filet and very little of the gravy and onions as I could handle (I scraped quite a bit off) and then about 3 ounces of the garlic mashed potatoes. I actually got full about 3 ounces into my meat and half of my potatoes. But I finished eating because I hadn't eaten much during the day and I didn't want to wake up starving tomorrow morning. I'll eat the rest for lunch tomorrow.

So I think I probably did pretty well. I'm going to have a small snack in a little bit, maybe. I'm getting a little hungry - we'll see. Maybe some 94% fat free popcorn or some fat free frozen yogurt or maybe just a fat free fudgesicle. We'll see.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Back to the ole grind tomorrow - which I'm not looking forward to - boss has already emailed me questions that she didn't need to email me about. UGH

Keep on

I'm glad the Garage Sale did OK. Disappointing it wasn't as good as before, but that is still a good amount raised. Next weekend I have the gym garage sale on Saturday. But this one is everyone who sells has the money from their items deposited into their kid's account. Since DS16 is still $540 short of having his minimum for season in, I hope we do well.

Hope you have a great week! Hang in there!

WOOHOO!!!!!!!! Congrats on the loss!!! And you did a great job at the restaurant! Way to go!!!!!

I'm so happy for you that all the manual labor was easier now that you've lost some weight. I bet you are just glowing, you should be so proud of yourself!!! Keep up the great work!

Thanks.

Today was an okay day. Drank 88 ounces of water, ate my leftovers for lunch, had something at dinner that I really didn't like so I stopped eating it instead of going ahead and eating it just to eat it. Scale said down .5 pounds this morning but I'm not gonna count it. I'll wait and see what it is in a couple of days before TOM officially gets here. The headache has started so I know it's on it's way - UGH!!!!

DD started her sophomore year in high school this morning - gosh I can't believe how grown up she looked this morning. She said no one noticed her weight loss yet but I told her not to give up and keep going - she'll feel better for it. She's at 20 pounds off right now. Next week she'll be able to begin doing much better as she won't be home sitting and eating when she has free time. Last week she was busy so didn't have time to sit around and eat. Anyway, I noticed that her clothes weren't as tight as they were in May which was great.

I am not going to get to journals until probably Friday night - start Girl Scout leader training season tomorrow night and that will keep me busy. Also won't allow me to work out as much but I'll deal with it - I think I did more this weekend then ever thought I would so I think I'm set, although I know I need to keep my body moving.

Have a great week if I don't get to read journals - I will post here though because this is good for me. Tomorrow it's back to tracking exactly what I ate - I did have a very berry fruit and oatmeal bar and fat free yogurt for breakfast and had a lemon chicken breast for dinner; plus the leftover 5 ounces of filet mignon medallions and 1/2 cup garlic mashed potatoes and 1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese for lunch. I am going to go up and hang out with dd and have some popcorn.... :)

Keep on

Chris - wow you really got moving this weekend! You did a great job when you went out to dinner, dividing the food up first is a great idea.
I hope Britt has a good start to the year. Tell her not to worry about no one saying anything about her loss, I'm sure they had to notice 20lbs missing but maybe didn't feel comfortable saying anything.
Oh and don't worry about having less time to exercise, I'm sure with all the scouting activities you'll be involved in you'll get in pleny of exercise.

Chris,

You are doing great. Way to go on eating dinner! That was awesome. I too hope that Brit has a good time at school. I am sure that some will notice the loss, but they may not want to say anything for fear of hurting her feelings. You both are doing great.

Keep up the good work

Busy time!!! Good luck with GS training- sounds like it will be a good experience.

And, I agree, tell your DD not to worry if other's didn't notice she lost weight. SHE knows, and that's what's important. I've had a lot of people say "Wow- you look great (or)...really happy!" I'm not sure if it's because they don't want to say "you've lost weight!" or if it's because I just hold myself with more confidence so that's what they notice first.

Have a great week!

Good morning - I'm finding out how anal I really am. Never really realized it until now. I got on that darned scale again this morning - wanted to see what eating half a bowl - and we are talking a BOWL (probably about 10 cups) of popcorn that Britt popped last night. Butter, oil and all. I have no clue what got into me. I sat there and even said to her - I don't know why I'm eating this. And I still don't know why. So it showed today on the scale. I had lost .5 yesterday and thus gained 1 pound today. But because I didn't record that loss yesterday it looks like only .5 pounds when I really gained 1 because I know what my number was yesterday.

So got that popcorn out of my system!!!! And now I'm back to counting today. I really have no clue how my eating will go this week. Tonight have to eat fast to get to my training, tomorrow night have to get something fast food to eat before my training and Thursday night have to get something fast to eat before a meeting. I'm already ready for this week to be over. This is my test week. My goal is to stay below 20 pounds and not gain too much. I know I can do it if I pay attention to what I'm going to eat. That's the hard part - and then I tend to eat too fast when I'm in a hurry and that's the bad part. We'll see - I have got to try and have patience in this, I know.

Have a good day!!!!

I know what you mean about the popcorn! It makes me gain weight every time I eat it. It's just so good!!!

Sorry to hear your week isn't going great, but at least you can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Remember there are healthy choices at the fast food places (salads, grilled chicken sandwiches, etc). You can still eat pretty good considering where you are!

Hang in there!

Got my bloodwork numbers -

Cholesterol - 168
HDL - 40 (a little low but will improve with my exercise)
LDL - 86
Tri's - 209 (a bit high but not high enough to conern him since I'm losing and eating better - he said it will get better)
VLDL - 42 (high but will improve as the Tri's improve)
Cholesterol/HDL ratio - 4.2

Notes - lab values are very good (this is a note from the doctor to my chart)

I'm pretty pleased but have much improvement. Now I have to dig my sheet out from several years ago when I had my blood tested. I think at that time my cholesterol was 210 or 211 or something like that.

I just called the doc and my blood sugar is 97. Good but I could lower it more I'm sure and I will I'm sure.

I'm happy!!!! Thanks for letting me share.

Hi Chris,

I had to get rid of my scale b/c I couldn't stay off of it. My weight fluctuates during the day and whenever I would see a gain I would get upset.
Now I just weigh at WW and I will not have another scale in my house until I reach lifetime.

Bet your glad the garage sale is over!! Congratulations on your totals. Even if they did not reach your goal, they sounded pretty impressive.

Have a great day!! :flower:

Chris - when you get the urge for popcorn, try one of the 100 cal packs. They fill me up. The sodium is probably causing you to retain water and therefore cause the weight gain. It is only temporary.

Good luck with your eating choices on the run. I seem to eat out so much that nothing sounds appetizing and end up eating junk (ie chips and salsa)

Enjoy your girl scout training.

Hope Britt enjoys her year in school.

Thanks guys.

Here's my final check in for the day. Training went okay tonight - only 5 ladies. Tomorrow night I have 13 and two ladies that I don't care for too well but it will be fine.

Here's what I had today:
breakfast apple crisp fruit and oatmeal bar
fat free yogurt

snack cheese stick

lunch ham sandwich
2 pickle slices
1/2 cup cottage cheese
2 fat free fig newtons

snack 18 carrots
1 TBSP dip

dinner 2 brats no bun
1/2 cup corn

Totals: 1260.5 cals, 47.25 fat grams, 134.75 carbs

I have to tell you - at first I put in the amounts for the brats and then went - OMG I have to eat more and I'm not even hungry; I had only entered for one brat!!!!! ROFL

Not too bad. A bit high on the fat grams but it's okay. At least today I got veggies and dairy in. Something I had been having a hard time getting in the last couple of days or week.

I think the main thing with the popcorn last night was it was there, I was hungry, and I hadn't had it in a while - not like that. It's not something I'm going to have very often and I let myself go. It's okay - I sort of fell off the wagon (for me lately) and will get back on. I made a mini-goal to myself. When I hit 30 pounds I'm going to go to Ollie's and get a Turtle Blast (it's a turtle sundae in a cup mixed together like a blizzard type thing). I've been so hungry for one and I think that will be a good reward. 50 pounds will be some new clothes. 25 pounds will be getting to wear my wedding ring again!!!! After that, we'll see. I told Britt when she hits 30 pounds we'll go shopping and she can get some new clothes. At least as I'm getting smaller I can wear her old clothes but as she is getting smaller she doesn't have anything to fall back on (she was and actually still is about 50 pounds smaller than me - unfortunately).

Hope everyone had a good night. I'm still up on cloud nine from my test results. I'm so happy - my mom had cholesterol problems but that was possibly brought on by the chemo and what it was doing to her thyroid and my dad has found out recently that he has cholesterol problems so I'm very happy!!!!!

Keep on
Chris

Keep up the good work! Great job lowering your cholesterol!!!

I had movie theater popcorn this weekend. Yummy, but very hard to moderate. There's something about crunch snacks that makes it hard to stop once you start munching.

I'm in the same boat as your DD - have lost 20 lbs from all- time high, but it's not even noticable. Oh, well, I know it will be soon if I keep going!

I hope things calm down for you soon. This sounds like such a crazy week!

Seeing your cholesterol numbers go down has to be a big thrill! I love seeing my new & improved test results. I get all jazzed at seeing my pulse rate be lower than it was before--I love knowing it's because I made my heart stronger.

Take care of yourself this week! I hope everything goes smoothly!

Congrats on the lab results! That is always a nice side effect of losing weight! You have some awesome mini goals, that turtle sundae sounds really good!

Keep it up!
