Hey everyone - hope you all are well. Thanks so much for the words.
Finished our retreat today a little after 6. I ended up counting 4 hours of exercise total. Yesterday I did this 30 minute walking tape that the nutritionist gave to Britt and it was actually pretty good. It ended up being a two mile walk but did different movements - leg lifts, side steps, kicks, and the walk and then put in moves with the arms. It was really good. So I did that and then took off for
WalMart and walked quick in and out and around the store, loaded soda and water in my car at the Student Center and then it was a mad dash to get the room ready for the students. Hauled everything in from my car - lots of lifting. Then hauled stuff down from our office. Did a lot of running around and walking fast and moving good. Today I was up and down the stairs (our office is in the same building where we held the retreat but is upstairs and the retreat was downstairs) probably a total of about 15 to 20 times (two flights). The elevator was not turned and that was a good thing I realized later. I think I sat down for a total of about 2 1/2 hours out of the 10 hours I was there. My legs are killing me!!!!! But it's a good hurt.
I realized, and have done this at various times, that I would not have been nearly as functional today if I didn't have this past 36 pounds off of me. I would have died going up and down the stairs. But instead I found myself pushing to go up them faster each time, and I was able to do it. Now mind you I was huffing a little bit as the day wore on because I was getting just generally tired but I forced myself to go fast up them to raise my heartrate. It felt good - it really felt good.
The food was not the greatest - I mean it was good but not as healthy as I'm use to. Yesterday I did have a low fat granola bar and my yogurt. For lunch I had LC Four Meat pizza (this is really good!!!). Then I snacked on several York Peppermint Patties throughout the day. I had a couple of pretzels also. Then dinner was at a place on campus that students in the food service or nutrition sciences majors cook and learn how to plan, make meals nutricious and how to make it for a large crowd. We had chicken marsala that was awesome (I actually had two pieces of chicken with lots of mushrooms), steamed rice, corn, steamed zucchini with onions and peppers, salad, spinach lasagna (the people that ate it said it was good), parmesean rolls, and cream puffs for dessert (that weren't worth eating). It was very good!
Today was a bit more scattered - we had a continental breakfast with mini bagels (I had one), fresh fruit (I ate some cantelope and honeydew and red grapes that were very sweet), danish, fruit juices, and coffee. Then the same catering that did breakfast did great box lunches - I had a chicken salad that was very good and they came with fresh fruit salad, another small salad (mine had cole slaw that I ate half because it was very good), chips that I didn't eat, cookies that I didn't eat, 2 little snack size candy bars that I didn't eat and soda or water. Then throughout the day we had out snack foods - chips, cookies, M&M's, pretzels, chex mix (which I had some), fruit bars, and lots of soda and water. I did pretty well staying away from the stuff that was very tempting which I was proud of myself. I made sure to drink all my water before having a soda.
Tonight dh got chinese for dinner - I had green pepper beef with about a cup of rice. YUMMY!!!!!!
I did weigh myself this morning and was at the same weight - scale hadn't moved. Tonight when I got home it was just 1.5 pounds higher than it was this morning (just had to see with all the walking I did). Can't wait to check tomorrow.
Hope everyone had a great day. Have a good and blessed Sunday. And I do have to put this in....
GO WHITE SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep on

Chris
