Cruise's (Chris) Accountability/Sap Journal :) (comments welcome)

Hey everyone!!!!! Finally got back from Thanksgiving in Minnesota with the in laws and shopping and then got our outside decorations up in the rain and finally getting a chance to sit down and log on. I was able to get 150 minutes of exercise in this weekend. I did 30 minutes on the treadmill at the hotel on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and am counting an hour of the 5 miles that we walked shopping on Friday as well. We went to the Mall of America and as we were walking from store to store I was going at a good pace so I could get some exercise in. That was great. I was very proud of myself for sticking to the fact that I was getting on that treadmill at the hotel. My dh was very supportive and patient as I went and he needed to wait for me. I'm hoping it pays off when I get on the scale this morning. I did just sneak on before coming here and it says I'm pretty way down from when I was last on the scale on Wednesday. I so hope it's true tomorrow. It was KILLING me to not have a scale with me this weekend!!!!

I did really well - on Wednesday night we stopped at IHOP for dinner on our way and I got herb roasted chicken, corn, roasted potatoes, and ate half the potatoes and half the chicken, all of the corn, and the whole piece of garlic bread (but it was soooooooo good). I didn't have much lunch. On Thursday I had an english muffin and my yogurt at the hotel and a half a glass of apple juice. I drank 126+ ounces of water and two small glasses of Williamsburg Winery Plantation White wine. I had approximately 4 ounces of turkey, 1 cup of mashed potatoes (with low fat marg and cream cheese and skim milk), 1 cup of green beans and mushrooms, 1 cup of low fat dressing (made with raisins and apples and water and spices), and 1/2 of 1/8th piece of no sugar apple pie and half a slice of fresh bread. Oh and I had a nice salad for lunch.

On Friday I grabbed my yogurt and then we ate at Ruby Tuesday for lunch (at 10:30) and I had 1 1/2 plates of salad and 1/3 of an order of cheese fries (they sounded so good and were good). Dinner was Champps and I had this Merlot and Chicken mushroom thing that was awesome and fruit.

On Saturday I again grabbed my yogurt and also ate a waffle at the hotel and one small powdered donut that was just gross and half a glass of apple juice. For lunch we got lunch from the grocery store called Byerly's and I had over a pound of salad (with stuff on it) and 1/4# of antipasto salad (it looked and was sooooo good). Then for dinner we went to my sister in laws and I had 1/3 of a honey chicken breast and 1 cup of potatoes (italian potatoes with tomatoes but I took them off) and 1 wheat roll and a slice (1/8th) of regular apple pie.

Today I grabbed my yogurt and then about half way home we stopped at Cracker Barrel and I had 3 biscuits, 1/4 of the gravy, 2 sausages, and an order of hashbrown casserole. Tonight we are going to have pizza and I'm going to be careful.

I made sure to drink at least 48 ounces of water every day. Today was hard because of being in the car. Each day I also made sure I took a 100 cal pack with me wherever I went. Each night I did also have a bite sized almond joy that I took with me (I knew I would need something later at night). I also took my salad dressing packets with me (I found these at WalMart - Light Done Right Ranch salad dressing packets - 90 cals and probably about 3 TBSP instead of the 2 you should have).

So all in all I think I did pretty good. The scale tomorrow will tell. I did get a compliment from one of my brothers in law asking me how much I had lost and what I was doing to lose. I think my mother in law told them I was losing weight. But that's okay.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Got some nice clothes (no tax on clothing in Minnesota). Was able to fit into a smaller pair of pants and a smaller nice sweater for work that zips. I was happy.

Keep on

I'm going to give this pic a try. It is of a recent DIS meet that I went to in the Chicago area and I'm the second to the right with the double chin (still) in the lime green colored shirt. My dh is to my right (1st to the right) and KimRaye is to my left (3rd to the right) as well as some other DISer's I've gotten to know over the years. I have a pic that was taken of me in May when I won an award and I need to get it scanned and find someone that can post it for me so you can see a "before". I do HATE having my pic taken!

This is with 43 pounds off and this is also one of the shirts I bought for Disney a few months ago (2 sizes smaller) and I couldn't wear when I bought them, won't have any problems wearing it to Disney!!!!

Thanks for sharing your Pic Chris! I love putting a face to a "voice" (albeit a typed one! hehe) :) Must feel great to put on those shirts that didn't fit before.

Sending good vibes for a good week your way!!
Mike :)

I have good news!!!! I got up, got on the scale - hesitantly I might add - and it said I had lost 3 pounds since Wednesday!!!!!! I was sooooooooo happy!!!!

This now puts me at 46 pounds total which meant I also got to claim a new clippie!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Can you tell I'm excited!!!!! Thanks for letting me share. It's been so long, it seems, since I've moved that much after such a weekend. I'm so happy. Definitely meant that not being able to exercise was doing me in some and once I got moving again that made a world of difference.

Have a good day everyone!!!! And thanks Mike!

Keep on

Congrats on the loss!!! :cool1:  :cheer2: That is awesome that you did that over Thanksgiving weekend!!! Good job on getting that exercise in while you were travelling. And thanks for sharing the picture!

Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

I'm so proud of you Chris! Thanksgiving is a huge obstacle and visiting people is another, plus lots of eating out. You did soooo great! Keep up the good work!
Katy :sunny:

Congratulations, Chris!!! I am soooo happy for you! You must feel such an incredible sense of pride for such an amazing accomplishment. :teeth: I feel like I am bubbling over and want to give you a huge  !!!!!

Thank you so much for your constant support in my journal. I really look forward to your posts and really feel energized by your advice. I am so happy to see a picture of you because I can picture you in my head being such a great friend.

You have accomplished something I and many others aspired to, but which I (and maybe some others) were not willing to work hard enough to achieve. I am so happy you are seeing the results of your efforts. That lime green shirt looks great on you! All too soon, it will be too big for anything other than your exercise sessions!

Keep up the awesome work, kiddo!

BTW -- what double chin? :cheer2:

Wow Chris,

You did such a great job during Thanksgiving. You really should be proud of yourself!!!!!

Hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday! Keep up the good work!

Well having to weigh in this morning to get my final total for the 5 for November challenge showed me with a 1 pound gain over the last couple of days and a final loss this month of 5 pounds. I'm at 45 total right now which I'm happy with - can't go back over that!!!!

I have really been retaining water - although I've been drinking it like crazy as my throat is getting soar from some sinus drainage and that makes my throat feel good. But the water retention bothers me because in the next day or so it's going to release and I'm not going to be spending much time sitting in one spot!!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

So food has been okay - actually not bad. I'm happy with where I'm at right now, a bit disappointed that I didn't hit my goal of 50 off by Thanksgiving but will hit it before we leave for Disney in almost 3 weeks. I have to for my sake.

I do have to say I'm getting a bit excited to sit in the airline seat to see how I feel in it now. I know I'll still have some issues getting the food tray down but at least I should fit better and more comfortably in the seat. I don't like to fly but I can't wait.

So hope everyone has a good week. DD turns 16 in two weeks and she's having a sleepover this weekend with some of her friends to celebrate so got lots to do over the next couple of days.

Keep on

Hi Chris,

Congratulations on making your 5 for November goal. 45 pounds is awesome. Good Luck getting everyting ready for the sleepover, and good luck getting some sleep that night.

Keep up the great work and take care,
Beth

Hi Chris - many many congrats on making your November goal!!

Congrats on making the Nov Challenge! I know you aren't exactly where you want to be, but you are a measly 5 lbs away from your own goal! I bet you will have that gone by the time you leave.

Keep it up! :cheer2:

Well, I'm happy to report that I'm starting the month off on a great foot. The scale was generously down 1.5 this morning. Hopefully that will stay. I was very happy and excited.

I'm still not being very good at writing any food down, that's why you haven't seen it lately. I think I'm just going to continue not really sticking with that as long as I can, mentally there is something about doing it but I'm in the middle of changing over calendars and my new one has an area I can write what I've eaten in and I just need to get to that point and get back to doing that.

Life is busy again right now, I so can't wait for vacation - it's not coming soon enough!!!! For those leaving soon - have a great time if I don't get to your journals. I hope to get to some on Friday night.

Keep on
Chris

You really are starting off December with a bang! You will look great when you go on vacation!

If you can still successfully lose weight while just mentally keeping track, do it! I think journalling is extremely important if you are just getting started or hit a plateau, but by this time you are an old pro!

Keep it up! :cheer2:

I held steady today on the scale. I felt really good yesterday - was able to get a sweater on that I bought 3 years ago and it just fit, couldn't button it but it fit so you could see the turtleneck underneath. Well yesterday I was able to button it and had extra room. That was nice. Glad it's a holiday sweater because I won't be able to wear it much longer - which is nice. And it looked so much nicer buttoned. I couldn't believe it.

Tonight is dd's sleepover for her "birthday" although early. She's really looking forward to it and I'm happy for her. She doesn't get invited to many birthday party's or sleepovers and she's been dying to have her friends over. It's hard when we live 30 minutes from them.

DH left this morning for a week trip to two places so we're on our own for the next week, which is fine. I'm like when he travels because I can clean or do laundry at 10pm if I want and not worry about waking him (dd can sleep through anything). And we both enjoy these breaks from each other - I think me more than him (my house stays clean for a considerablea mount of time :rotfl: ).

Off to a busy day at work. While I'm up tonight I'm going to get to journals and catch up, again. I'll get some sleep but there's two girls that I don't know and I don't want to go to sleep until they do just in case they need anything. So it will be laundry doing time and computer catchup time - good plan huh!!! :sunny: Gotta kill some time since all my friends are leaving for WDW soon!!!!! (or are already there).

Have a great day and weekend everyone!
Keep on
Chris

Hi Chris!

Congrats on the holiday sweater! What a great feeling that must be! :goodvibes

Sending you some :wizard: for your DD's sleepover. ;)

Hope you have a great weekend! :sunny: See you when I get back from WDW! :Pinkbounc

Hey, Chris! Congratulations on the holiday sweater fitting so much better and buttoning with room to spare. :thewave:

Enjoy your Mom-Daughter week! I hope DD has a fabulous sleepover tonight. I hope they actually sleep, for your sake. With teenage girls, it is just as likely they will gab and munch all night! :goodvibes

Have a great weekend!

Thanks everyone - the sleepover is commencing: Pizza has been eaten (some), movie is in the DVD player and it's quiet right now. Unfortunately the 2 girls that came brought gifts and dd feels bad that they did that. So they will get a nice gift card in a Christmas card from dd as a thank you I decided! One girl Britt has been friends with from kindergarten and one girl she has become good friends this year and is 20 minutes from us and is a really nice girl. Was nice to hear great conversation in the car on the way back to our house from school - she has a lot of things in common with this girl. What a relief - Britt has had a hard time keeping friends because of her ADHD so I hope this lasts. The other girl couldn't make it. We'll try again another time with her and Britt.

So I'm upstairs with the two-way radio and keeping out of the girls' way, letting them have time together with no parents lurking around. Doing laundry and catching up with you all - dh made it to Boston, luggage didn't when I talked to him earlier this afternoon - hopefully it finally got there. Almost time for French Silk Pie!!!!! I got on the scale after eating dinner and I think I can have a nice small piece (YUM). We've had this tradition for about 5 years now that we have french silk pie instead of birthday cake as it's dd's favorite dessert. I was hoping we could still have that tradition this year but I couldn't see getting it for just the three of us :earseek: :earseek: so having two extra mouths to help eat it makes it worth it :)

Catch you all soon on your journals I hope!!!!
Keep on
Chris

Okay - I really just had to report. I just had a 1/4 of a 1/2 of a piece of French Silk Pie and I had forgotten how wonderful it was!!!!!!! I am so glad we don't do this often!!!!! (Okay - sorry if I just sparked any cravings but I couldn't help it).

I am sitting here at 10pm (or close to it) and just dragging. I have this head thing going on and I've had to bump the heat up in my house so the girls don't freeze and I'm going south quickly - didn't sleep well last night so I'm heading to bed. I didn't get to all the journals but I will before the end of the weekend!
