Ok I am goinna start this one out by asking you all how many you have attending your Weddings /VR's?

In the beginning DD was told not to worry and make SURE she sent in EVERYONES confirmation Numbers so we could be seated together at dinner....she was told they would push tables together to get as many people at one table as possible........NOT!!!!!

She got an email today AFTER calling and SPECIFICALLY asking to have someone CALL her, about the contract they are suppose to be sending her outlining EXACTLY what they are being charged for. Well that has yet to come and I guess in this email DD has now been told that the "MAX" number of people at ANY table will be 8, they will NOT MOVE tables around they said there could POSSIBLY be a table for 10 for that is NOT a GUARANTEE.

So How many people do you have attending your Ceremony and do tell how you are suppose to pick and choose which of those people actually get to eat dinner with the BRIDE And GROOM?????

I ask the question on the Cruisline boards "whats the biggest table/dining party you have either seen or been seated in on a Disney Cruise.....I have a responce allready, someone had a TABLE FOR 13 in June on the Magic.....so what is the deal here??????

We took a 3-night DCL cruise and we were part of a group of 16. They told my SIL we'd be seated together but the first night they had us at two tables of 8 right next to each other. She mentioned it to our waiters and for the remaining two nights we were at one big table. I should say that this was 3 years ago so things very well may have changed.

Sorry there have been so many changes for your DD, I'm sure it's stressful. Can they at least guarantee that your guests will all be at adjoining tables? Maybe not as good as all being at one table but at least they'll be close to everyone.

It is just another in the LONG list of things they have changes since she booked all of this.....It is TOTALLY CRAZY that this is being done. On the other cruiseline post I noticed someone mentioned they should ask how they would be compensated for all of these changes...what about all of the guests who booked this trip being told (because DD was told) that we would ALL be eating Dinner together??

Who do you shove out of that table?? I told dd to put myself her dad, fiancees parents and fiancees aunt at the oddball table....but is that fair??? I have yet to even meet his parents because of distance and his mom has a few issues with the whole thing and I am sure this will just add fuel to her FIRE!!!! So what I get to be a referee at my daughters Wedding?????

Could the bride and groom alternate nights sitting with each table? Then there's no "odd man out" table. I know that doesn't help you for the actual wedding night dinner, but maybe for the other nights.

Yes I am sure they could do that but at this point with all of the changes it is really the question of "should they have to?" It is just too many things that have been changed is this for 2010 or what we have all heard there are new rules for 2010 and like i have said before that is all well and good for 2010 not November 2009 and NOT after someone has told you durring the whole thing that this is a YES and that is a YES and now it is a "NO" dd is so over it she really is, and it shouldn't have to be that way.

This is TOTALLY unacceptable at this point what else and when will she find out?

This isn't really a new rule..this happened to us also. We had about 20+ people for our cruise. Both Cat 1's guests asked (and tried to pay off the head waiter)that the tables be put together..they said the most we could have was 10. We are sat in the same area but because of the way they break up the tables, they can't handle the larger party.
We table hopped..we were close enough to turn and talk to another table..no further than if people at one end of a table could talk to the other end..

We didn't see what the big deal was, but when you see the way the waiter and assistant waiter and drink server is set..it can be confusing for them I guess.

Then if that is the case, and Cathy (who was the one who said Not a Problem) in the beginning she should have NEVER said it was OK!! And I also asked on the Cruiseline Board, and I have allready got answers of up to 21 at one table in the middle of the dining room. I just dont get it at all.

wow..I don't know how they even fit 21 in one area..the dining rooms are so broken up

Like I said..both the Walt and the Roy suites tried to bribe them to put the tables together and they wouldn't..I can't find the pictures of our group, but we were right there almost touching..closer than if I had been at one end of a table and someone at the other

Did your TA link the reservations together? Ours did that for our cruise with family in Feb...but we only had 4 of us total...maybe linking the ressies might help? Talk to your TA-they can work some magic sometimes!

we have 18 with us and it was never an issue for me as i knew from the get-go that there was NO WAY we would all be sitting together. I am HOPING for 2 tables of 10. This may be the 1 thing i'm not stressing over for the VR! :rotfl: We have been on enough cruises to know that the tables are NOT moved in the dining room and 10 is the max you can have. most do 8.

Sorry Cathy told you otherwise...just add it to the list. :headache:

Dorothy the group cordinator sent me a paper with 6 tables on it and slots to pick who sits where. Two 8 tops, Two 6 tops and Two 4 tops. We had 30 people and went with 2 Eight tops, 2 Six tops and one Four top (only using 2 of the seats), then after the first dinner they slid the four top over to one of the eight tops since there were only two people sitting at that 4 top.

Basically each "Section" covered by one waiter and one assistant consisted of one of each, 8 - 6 - 4 Tops. We were given two secions right next to each other. We sat with out parents and got up and walked around to each table. Somethimes having desert at a differant table.

It is not a big deal, just tables, you need to stop getting so upset over the little things, they will all work out and the wedding will be great. TRUST ME! We were all right in the same section. At a normal wedding reception the bride and groom are not sitting at a huge table with all of thier guests!

Hello!

To answer your original question we have 19 people plus myself and DF. 4 of our guests prefer the late seating so we had 17 in the early dining. We were given a seating chart to divide up our guests into tables of 8, 6 and 4. At first I was a bit suprised becasue on our last cruise our table seated 14 but we have been able to make it work. We are on the August 13th sailing so we are so close! I definitely can see how it would be frustrating to be told one thing and then told something different later on. The only real issue I have concerns about is the photography. My paperwork says the DVD will have all pictures so that is what I expect...I know since then they have changed the packages so if I run into problems I will explain I only want what was in my planning kit.

For the most part we are happy with the options Disney offers and are really looking forward to our wedding! Best wishes to you and your daughter!!

Suzanne, I had the same issue with the pictures. Print out what you have to show them and they will honor it. They ended up calling Cathy about mine. I was a nut about the pictures. I so wish that had a CD only package!

Thanks for the advice!! I think I found about the the change when I read your PJ :goodvibes so I will be armed with the paperwork!!

A CD only package would be great!

That's exactly what I was thinking.... usually the bride and groom are sitting at the "head table" with their bridal party and there are tables throughout the room that usually seat about 8-10 people each... this really isn't any different..... as long as the tables are together (like not on separate sides of the room or something), i don't see how this is a problem.........

I agree with what Goldelox said in that if you had a wedding at home you would not be sitting at a table with the guests. We have at least 10 and possibly 20 going. As long as we are in the same area that is what matters. I understand you were told one thing and now it is changed, but you have to consider what the configuration on the ship is. I'm sure they'll put you all in the same section, next to each other.

We had 20+ guest all together, and they sat us in the same area, with the same waiter/helper. We table swapped all week so we could socialize with each other at dinner. A few times, we had the kids all sit at one large table and the adults at the other 2 and just kept giving the kids the "eye" to behave...hee hee. As for the "reception" at Palo, we only had the adults which was a large round table for 10 which was fine for what we needed.

I have passed all of your answers and comments on to DD. I told her that you all said it isn't too bad having the seperate tables and that it will all work out. Thanks for the info....:thumbsup2

I know she is just upset with ALL of the recent changes that have been happening. And it is all just starting to get to her. Several things have been changed when she thought it was all set and I know she is just waiting to hear that something else has to be changed or will be changed without her knowing and finding out when she gets on the ship.

Again thanks for the info.

Things will change, BUT just remember it is Disney and on the ship they do care. It will be fine. It will be just perfect and afterwards she will think her wedding was the best wedding ever! I know mine was ;)
