Cruise Weather

Our cruise is set to sail on July 1st 2004.
I understand that this is the Hurricane season. Has anyone sailed during this time of year? If so, can you give us some tips,
is it something we should really worry about?

As long as we're asking weather questions, does anyone know what the weather is like in winter in the Bahamas? We just booked the New Year's Eve cruise on the Wonder. Is it too cold to swim?

jvas - we cruised last September during Hurricane Lili. It diverted us from the Western itinerary to one that had us as Castaway Cay twice, St. Thomas and Puerto Rico - at times the sea was as smooth as glass!!
