Cruise Rates

Sorry for what I am sure is a repeat question, but the 'search' isn't working

We are looking at a 7 day cruise in 2008. When is typically the cheapest time to cruise?

I am a teacher so we have to go in the summer in order to go to Florida for 10 days. We don't have a preference as far as Eastern or Western, we just need the dates to work.

I know that typically the deluxe hotels at WDW are in value season in July/August. DOes the cruise have 'seasons'?

If its the standard carribean cruises I think August is the cheapest, but if specail cruises like Med etc then its not. I think then early November avoiding national bank holidays.

SUmmer cruises are (unfortunately) not the lowest rates.

That said, the 2008 haven't been released yet. Typically, rates drop for the last 1/2 of August...if you have one of those schools that doesn't start till September. August is usually the lowest of the summer months. You might look into renting DVC points to get a good deal on your resort stay.

The cruise is cheapest in September/October and January/early Feb. Rates go up for the week of President's Day and most other holidays.

We're hitting the crunch with scheduling as DD has entered high school....I wanna cruise!

surprisingly, first 2 weeks of December are a great time to cruise $ wise as well...also, you get these added benefits....

1) great weather with low humidity
2) ship decorated beautifully for the holidays
3) no hurricane threat

Mid August thru Mid December excluding the holiday weeks are the best prices generally. We always cruise in early December due to this.
