Can someone please explain the chart to me? How many points is it really? The chart just confuses me so LOL

The cruise point charts are showing the number of points per person in the stateroom. The first two are charged as adults regardless of age. After that you can see the point charge for 3/4 person in the room or babies/children. Once you know this it should be easier to decipher.

Have you figured out the DVC points cruise sale? (News on DVCmember)

Looks like you can take an early year points cruise, you can get a late year cruise for only 23 points/person !

Are the points listed as per night or for the entire cruise? That is what is getting me.........

SO how are the points figured out for the 5th and 6th passenger like in our families case where the 5th and 6th are children?

A Category 4 (Deluxe Family Suite w/Verandah) can accommodate up to 5 passengers. You would need to call MS to see what can be done for a family of 6.

The cruise deal they just announced does sound too good to be true. My understanding is that you get the same category level for that 23 points/person as your initial booking. So if you book a category 5 for the first trip you would get a category 5 for the second trip at only 23 points/person. That would be a fantastic deal if you could take advantage of those booking dates. Anyone else have any information on this special offer?

For a family of 6 you would need a suite (Cats. 1-3, VERY expensive) or two staterooms (much more economical). If you go with the 2 staterooms then you would be charged the 1st/2nd person rate for the first two people in the stateroom and then the 3rd/4th person rate for any others. So, with 6 people you'd be paying the 1st/2nd person rate for 4 of you and the 3rd/4th person rate for the other 2. If you get a suite you'd pay the 1st/2nd person rate for 2 of you and the 3rd/4th person rate for the other 4, but it would definitely be many more points than the 2 cabin option.

FYI...connecting cabins are not available in Categories 11 & 12. They start at Category 10. We have sailed in everything from an inside cabin (no window) to an oceanview (porthole window) to a verandah cabin (private balcony). All are great and you'll have a great cruise in any of them, so go with the one that fits your budget.

Also, you don't have to pay for all passengers with points. You can pay for some with points and some with cash. Each person must be paid for with all-points or all-cash, but you can split up your party as you wish. DVC has a contracted cash rate with DCL. If you book some of your family on cash you'll have to pay the full amount, plus the $95 transfer fee, at the time of booking.

Has anyone booked a cruise stateroom for only one adult using DVC points? My sister wants to join us on a 12 night Baltic and she would need her own room.

I think I read cash was generally 1.5 - 2x adult depending on cruise. If you have children, I think you could You might want to consider changing your reservation to technically have one of your children booked in her room, too..

I thought about that, but our cash stateroom has nonrefundable deposits and I might lose DD's deposit if I move her to another room. Since we paid cash for our stateroom I was hoping to use DVC points for my sister's.

Haven't heard of this, do you possibly have a link?

I did look at them briefly...So based upon 2008 sailing dates 4 night Disney Wonder do I understand this properly?

Category 9 stateroom...138 points first 2 adults..3rd/4th in room 91 points each...Thats' 458 points 2008..Thats for 4 nights?

Seems like ALOT OF POINTS! Not a cruise expert by any means, but couldn't you get a better "cash" deal than that..I would imagine there are codes out there etc like booking through Disney Vacations???

If you book just one person into a stateroom you will pay 1.5 times the points-per-person. It is called a single supplement.

I believe the single supplement for DCL on points is 1.75

I am looking at the news on DVC and I don't see anything about the book an early cruise and then do the late cruise for 23 points a person?

it's on the news section, under the featured news in the list of links. It's titled "cruise with mickey for a minnie price"

HTH!
