Cruise Meet Sept, 9th 2012 Dream

We're booking our activities, too. My DH wants to do the sea lion encounter - oh boy! Should make for some awesome photo oportunities. We were able to get Palo for brunch and Remy for dinner, different days of course. Can't wait!

The sea lion encounter sounds fun. I tried to talk my DH into that or the dolphin encounter but no luck. Maybe next year. We are saving Remy till next year on the Fantasy. We will be joining our friends we met on the Wonder for dinner.

Hi! Just checking but is there already a FE group for this trip? I really don't know.. but I'm already making some gifts.. haha.. But's nice to know for how many staterooms..

Waiting for a courageous person with experience in FE groups to come forward to organize one......

Hey everyone! We only have 1 month and 29 days till our Dream Cruise!:cool1:

Hey Teri! Getting excited for the cruise, the date is creeping up on us! Is anyone going to do the fish extender group????

I will be brave and organize Fish extender group...! PM me your stateroom and how many people, ages, if you like and your email and I will send out a spreadsheet with all info to those interested in the group in doing Fish extenders.

It is our 17th anniversary on the 9th.;)

That is so nice of you to do that for the group Tinkerbellcrafter!! I hope we can all get together for a DisMeet too! Time will be here before we know it. We will be staying a few days at WDW before our cruise, I have to get that part of our trip paid off this week. I will be happy when that is paid!

Talk to us about the cruise and your plans and you'll have enough. This thread can use some conversations to help us all get excited about the Dream. If you have questions ask away!

Hey everyone, I am totally new to this so I hope I am posting it right :) We will be sailing on our first Disney cruise Sept 9 with everyone and we cant wait! Myself, DH, DS (age 5)pirate:, DD (age 2):tink:, my mom and dad will all be going. We have booked the dolphin encounter at blue lagoon, brunch at Palo, and I have reserved nursery time for my DD. I have already found several door decorations for our rooms but would like to know more about the fish extenders:fish:. Any advice anyone has would be awesome. We are pros at traveling to disney world but the cruise is a whole new experience! We have done other cruises but never with kids, lol! So bring on the tips and advice and we will see everyone Sept 9:jumping1:

Thanks again, Cara

Booked our excursion (Juneroo Forts) and Palo Brunch and the rental car to and from. Now all I need is a hotel in teh port area for the night before the cruise! Ooh, and I have to get my FE from my mother.

Witherbark, we stayed at the Marriott near the airport, the night before once. The staff were great and they picked us up at the airport when I called them and took us back to the airport in the morning where we took the DCL bus to PC. We got a great rate through AAA too.

Cara, your family will love the Dream. We were like you a couple of years ago. We loved taking our WDW vacations, but once we sailed on the Wonder we were hooked. The service is great and you see kids having a great time. There is plenty to do, but my best advice is to take time to relax. That is what makes cruising so great, lounging on deck 4 is my favorite. My DH's favorite is Serenity Bay on CC. The spa is awesome, Palo Brunch is too! Can't you tell I can't wait to go back!! I know you will have a great time.

We are going to stay at the county inn &suites airport hotel before our cruise. they have free airport shuttle. has anybody done the rainforest on the ships spa?? And the walking&kayak excursion on castaway cay?? and what to do at nassau ...

It's getting closer every day! So excited to be going on this trip, and with such a lovely group of people, too. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Here is a link to the Fish Extenders (FE) Thread on the Boards: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607

If you can supply your cabin number and email and you want to take part in the FE exchange, I will add you to the spreadsheet. :) If you prefer to PM me, that is fine as well!;)

I think that I will make cut off for joining Fish Extender Group August 15th. That way those that make their gifts will have an accurate count before the cruise. It looks like mostly adults are taking part in the exchange..not very many kids this trip---must be all the anniversaries;-):rotfl:

Here are some guidelines I snagged (then modified;)) from another thread:

Guidelines for our fish extender:

1. Each cabin is to provide AT LEAST one gift to each cabin participating in the fish extender. You can provide a gift to each person within that cabin, just the kids, or one gift for the whole cabin...that is up to you. Of course, you are welcome to give more than one gift...but the minimum is one.

2. All gifts are to be delivered between the cruise leaving port on Sunday, until 4 PM on Wednesday September 12th. This gives people time to still be able to pack their bags on September 12 before we leave the ship the morning of September 13th.

Here is a list of IDEAS of what you might want to bring for the FE on the cruise...to add to your packing list if you'd like:
1. The FE gifts that you are making/preparing.
2. An FE pocket/hanger to hang outside your cabin. You can find them on eBay by searching "Fish Extenders" or you can make one or search on line other places.
3. A zip tie to help attach your FE HANGER. Some people have commented theirs have sadly walked away...but if you attach it with a zip tie...then it is not as likely to walk away.
4. Scissors to cut the zip tie when you're packing...LOL! Don't want to leave it for someone else.

Do we already know how many cabins are in our fe group?? Than I know how many gifts I need to make. Thanks for the information....
