Cruise Meet Fantasy Jan 3, 2015

Elmo- LOVE your countdown calendar. We did our first FE on our last cruise and no one was as creative as you! This will be our (my DD19 & me) 6th cruise but first time on the Fantasy. Have sailed on all the other ships and so far the Dream is our fave. Really looking forward to it.

Hello Everyone! we booked this cruise while on board the Fantasy in January. Sailing will Be DH, David (52) myself Michele (49), and Our son David II (16). Our stateroom is 10662. We are excited already and cannot wait to be back on board the beautiful Fantasy.
We would like to participate in The F.E exchange also.

Yesterday I did submit a request to join the FB page but I really prefer to keep posts on the DIS. I don't use FB much and the FB page shuts out other DISers. I personally have read many cruise meet threads and know that many DISers not on our cruise will like to read our posts. Also, I chose DISboards and did not search FB for a cruise meet. It is just my personal preference. I love the DIS!

I use both platforms, and one thing I like about the FB is that then I remember people's actual names, LOL! But in all honesty in all my cruise meets threads, the ones pre-FB had better participation, and we got to know each other a lot better. We aren't cruising with family or friends this time around so I'm hoping to get to know a lot of great DISers!

Mary Beth - Thanks! I got the countdown idea from Pinterest and just customized it. It is super simple. My DD is also 19 and has asked if there are others her age. She will be happy.

I totally agree!

My FEs are going very slowly!! Last time I also got halfway through sewing FEs and told myself I would not do it again. Well guess what!? Yep, I'm sewing again! Worse, hand sewing. But it so cute so hopefully I will keep going. Anyone else working on FEs?

We are booked on the Jan 3 2015 Fantasy cruise!

Traveling with a large group of friends and family...as we are getting married at Castaway Cay!

This is everyone's first Disney cruise...though many have cruised before.
Perfect fit for us since we always all travel together (majority of people are from Australia)

Can't wait!

We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary, a month early ... But it's the only way to get all 4 kids away without them missing a lot of school.

Excited but Praying for good weather.
The more we read about cruising in January..the more we read the weather is very windy and cold
Allot of times ship can not even dock at castaway due to high winds.
It's out of our control...but hoping it all works out.


Excited that we will be having allot of people cruise with us...and have this 7 day extended celebration.

Then future bride and I are off to our first visit to WDW -post cruise

Watching the countdown clock....days are passing so slowly.
Then once we are On the ship...everything's going to move faster than lighting.

Hoping we can get regular updates on numbers participating so we have a general idea on gift quantities needed. I would like to start working on it now rather than leaving it till after the closing date.

Has anyone made any port excursion plans yet? Nothing is really popping out at me at the moment. Open to suggestions from past cruisers.

I was hoping to do something involving snorkeling at Puerto Rico but we met a guy from there who basically convinced my husband that we must see as much of the area as possible.
I am sure we will tour St.Maarten. DS and I likely won't get to snorkel there. I will continue to research and obsess. It's not like I already searched for gluten free food in St.Maarten, you know like two months ago... of course not - that would be crazy! #canthideyourDISside!

Yes, by reading trip reports, travel books and searching the internet. I used copy and paste to put the info in a word doc so I can take it with me. It has 8 restaurants so far. The document notes what kind of GF food the restaurant has, if it is cash only, if it is open for lunch, what part of the city it is in, etc. I haven't done San Juan yet. After all my careful research DH will probably have me just wing it at an unknown restaurant. What can you do?

Hi everyone! I'm so happy I found this thread. My DH and I have been married 21 years and are parents to 3 girls ages 6, 8, and 9. The Jan. 3, 2015 Fantasy will be my family's first cruise. I'm so excited but also overwhelmed with making sure I don't miss anything or mess up any plans from FEs to port excursions, on-board activities (my girls are dying to do Bippity Boppity Boutique, it's the whole reason we chose Fantasy!), pirate night costumes, etc. I'm new to DIS, new to DCL, new to all these acronyms and plan to spend the next 6+ months absorbing as much as possible from you more experienced travelers. Thanks for sharing all your info!
