Cruise Meet -April 21, 2012 - 7 Night Eastern Caribbean

Daisy 14's DH...that is :lmao:. Definately bring Fred, I want to see him in action! He could be at the base of Minnie in our photo:rotfl:.

You know, I don't even have anything to hang off my fish, anyone have any advice on who they got their FE's from?

I got mine from Ebay last December from a woman with the name of Grady's mom (gradysmom). She is awesome, just make sure if you order from her you give her an exact date of when you need it. It was reasonably priced. :)

We just made ours, very simple and personalized :) But I know many people who have got theirs from EBbay, or there are some people on the boards soemwhere who will make them for you.

Hi everyone! Just stopping by to say hello. There are 6 of us in our party- me, DH, DD-5, DD-2, and my DM and DD. This will be our 4th Disney cruise, my parents 3rd. Booked this one on the Panama Canal Repo in January. Anyone else on that cruise? Just changed to inside room-really want to have a magical porthole! Will definitely be doing the FE gift exchange-had so much fun with it on our last cruise. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!:flower3:

Kyland, our families mascot is Benjamin Bear and he's traveled with us since the 80's. I'll have to see if I can easily post some pictures of him and his exploits. We've never had other people pose with him, but what a great idea!

Have a fantastic time. Can't wait to see pictures of the costumes!

Here's a picture of Benjamin from our trip in 2009. We are lucky he's a good traveler, he carries all his own entertainment devices.

Niki - all of our info is correct (as of now) for the FE.

A couple of us on the FB group are joining up to support each other in trying to lose weight for the cruise. Anyone here want to join along?

Daisy's 14 DH have fun on your trip!! Think about us, slaving away at work...just kidding.

The Bear is cute. I can't believe I haven't done something like this!

Yes, please join us on Fb for our weight loss support (if needed).:)

Nikicares-I have an update- a room change, it is now 5052. THX!!!

I think (cross your fingers) I got an extra onboard credit from my TA!! YAY! I should find out tomorrow. Every little (or big) amount helps!

Anybody have any tips on CI&S rates? We will be there just 1 night (pre cruise).

Welcome back! Glad you had a great time.

I don't want to talk you into the FE group, but if your daughter likes opening getting surprises in the mail or opening her stocking on Christmas morning (if you celebrate it) then she will probably love the FE program. Heck, I'm WAY older than 3 and I get all excited when I get back to the cabin and find little gifts in our pouches.

On the previous trip that I was on we had everything from custom CDs of music, candy from hometowns, pirate themed toys, recipes for cruise type food, postcards from hometowns, glow sticks, pencils, highlighters, etc. I've seen pictures of amazing handmade gifts, but it really should just be as much or as little as you want to do.

Is there a post or thread that describes what all is involved? She does like those things, but want to know what I'm signing up for. LOL :)

Scott - this is a post I put together for my other cruise which had some people asking the same thing. I am sure those with more experience will also help but this is where I had started when learning about the FE stuff.

BTW we got our actual Extender from ebay there are a couple of ppl there also etsy or you can make your own of some sort. :goodvibes Hope this helps. It is a lot of info. (I had gone a little info overboard :rolleyes1)

I think I saw a few people asking about what is a FE... so here is a post I created when I was the person in charge of the FE's for another Disney Cruise

What is a FE? It is a “Fish Extender” meaning a pocket of some type that hangs from your Disney Cruise Line “fish” outside your door, where Cast Members leave your confirmations and such.

This is a fun game started by a group of travelers to make the Cruising experience just a little bit more FUN. It is sort of like a Secret Santa… you will get a final listing prior to cruising (about 15 days prior) of who all is participating, so you can leave little “gifts” or “goodies” in others FE’s. You can do as many or as few as you like, there is NO rules or guidelines, it is meant to be fun for all and not to cause worry or stress – we are all on vacation – good times only!!

Ideas of other peoples gifts for suggestions and ideas: something to represent your state/country, favorite snack food, cruise themed items (beach balls, sunglasses..), pencils. It is just meant to be a fun little surprise when you get back to your rooms, not a huge investment of money! REMEMBER FUN!

Where do I get a FE? Many people have purchased theirs from Ebay or you can make your own. This is completely up to you.

How do I participate in a FE? You just notify the person in charge of the FE's for your trip and they will happily add you to the list. Then typically about 2-4 weeks prior to the cruise, you will be emailed or a updated list posted for your records.

Ok Disney World Veterans.......I am looking for some input please!!!! :worship:

I have just looked into flights for this cruise (our home airline just released April itineraries) and it is looking like flying in on Wednesday for us is going to be our best bet (unfortunately we will have to depart on Saturday :sad1:). Now it is figuring what to do for 2 1/2 days before we get on the ship. What to do? What to do?

I am by no means Disney savvy or park educated. Already sub to mouse savers newletter and such too. Working on getting through the WDW Passporter too.

I have visted WDW and DL 2 times each. Last time I was able to secure a corporate discounted ticket. Before that family planned the trips and I was a "passenger." I am astonished at the day rate prices for WDW, but I know they have options on the # of days and the no expiration and all that. Never stayed on property either.

DS will be 6. I know there is a Legoland that is opening. And there is always Kennedy/Sea World/Universal too. I will probably has access to 2 nights free at a Hyatt Place but not a guaranteed. And have reserved a car at a great rate for airport on Wed to port on Saturday so that isn't an issue. Now the details.

Any suggestions, input, tricks, etc I am listening!!! Thanks!!!!! popcorn::

We love the parks, but yes they are expensive. Maybe Thursday go to MK then relax on Friday by the pool and hang out at Downtown Disney. Get to bed early Friday night so you will be ready to go on Saturday! I personally wouldn't be able to be that close for that long without going to a Disney park atleast one day:rotfl:

We always like to go for a day or two before cruising. We are staying at Caribbean Beach 2 nights before this cruise. Epcot has the Flower and Garden Festival this time of year so we wanted a little extra time for that.

The value resorts are not that expensive and staying on site for me is the way to go. Since you have a car offsite hotels can be very reasonable. The park tickets are expensive but if you are there you may as well make use of the opportunity, you have already paid for airfare and hotel.

I agree, I'd have a really hard time being that close and NOT visiting a park. We know that we will be going to the parks at sometime so we normally purchase non-expiring parkhopper tickets for as many days as we can afford (since the tickets drop in price for more days). That way if fortune falls on us and we find that we can do a quick trip we have already paid for the tickets (just make sure you keep them in a safe place).

If you can't do a park, then I'd suggest either a water park, Downtown Disney or one of the mini-golf courses.

We've never stayed off-property, but if doing that makes it more affordable and allows you to buy tickets to the park then I'd go for it.

We are planning to be on property for the week before (hopefully we don't have to change plans). If so, maybe we can schedule a pre-cruise meet-up for everyone that will be in the area on Friday. We can do it at the Boardwalk or Downtown Disney for anyone that won't be visiting the park.
