Cruise Meet -April 21, 2012 - 7 Night Eastern Caribbean

Ok, for the photo, looking at 3pm embarkation day, unless the majority think the day after is a better idea.

Further, I'm travelling alone, so if anyone has late seating and wants another person to jaw at during dinner, PM me, maybe we can link reservations for dining only.

Thanks for organizing the photo. :thumbsup2 I don't have our incoming reservations yet so not sure if we are coming in same day or day before depends on flights from Milwaukee. So I would like to think the first day would be okay. I am drawaing a blank on if the second day would be a sea day....

As far as what to do, I haven't been out and about much lately but the last time I was at Party City they had the leis on clearance. Other than that I am afraid I am not much more help. Sorry. :confused3

The first full day on ship is a sea day. Here's how the Eastern works:

Saturday: Embarkation
Sunday: At sea
Monday: At sea
Tuesday: St. Maarten
Wednesday: St. Thomas
Thursday: At sea
Friday: Castaway Cay
Saturday: Debarkation

The only problem with 3pm on embarkation day is that people may still be boarding at that point...so Sunday would probably be better.

I am so excited for this cruise but....

I'm even more excited that we will be at WDW next week!!! YAY

Thanks for clarifying!!!! :thumbsup2 Knowing that I would then vote for Sunday. Then we all could iron out the travelling rumples. ;)

Travel safe and have FUN!!!! Wish we were going to WDW. I have our Dec cruise to look forward to. Just finished up getting checked in and all of our other reservations booked! Looking forward to experiencing Remy and our CC day!!!

Speaking of which I cannot WAIT to get out of this doggone cast so I can get back to working on my stuff. I have been away from it too long (and all things Disney actually:sad1:). I am actually missing my "FE" time. 3 more weeks to go! :woohoo:
I guess I missed that you were in a cast. I hope the next three weeks go by quickly for you.

I could go either way with the photo/meet. Getting to meet everyone on the first day would be cool, but if everyone isn't there then it wouldn't make sense. Maybe we could do an informal meet for everyone that is there at 3 and then do an official photo shoot on Sunday.

You are so lucky!!! Are you doing the MNSSHP? If so, are you dressing up?

So, I thought I'd try and get some more discussion going on the thread. Who will be making Palo/Reme reservations for this trip? Will you be doing Brunch/Tea/Dinner (Palo) or going all out and doing dinner at Reme? I did the Tea with a fellow DIS boarder last trip and Jim and I did the Brunch. We're trying to decide if we should try the Palo dinner or stick with the brunch. I'd love to experience Reme, but I'm just a pretty picky eater (and don't drink wine) so I'm just worried that I'd have a hard time finding something that I'd like to eat on the menu. Do any of our Dream travelers have experiences to share regarding these options?

Great idea!! We'll be there.

Thank you so much for the info. I'll have to check into the pre-order. Now here is a strange question - how tall is your husband? Jim is 6'3" so the top of the lounge on the Magic just reached his shoulders so he didn't like laying there for very long. I'll probably pre-order one pass and then once we get onboard have him test it out before we buy him a pass.

Dumbo is adorable, my younges was facinated with Dumbo for a year or so when he was 2, so he has a special place in my heart.

You are welcome! My DH is 6-3, also...I just asked him if he "fit" and he said "yes"! I remember him snoring and me poking him to wake up, so I think he was comfortable:rotfl:

We did all 3 last month. We just love the brunch, this was our 3rd time. We ate in Palo for the 2nd time and it is fabulous! We also tried Remy...what an experience!! I am too a picky eater and I was a clean plater! We do drink wine, but DH only had 1 glass and I didn't have any...too expensive to do the pairing. I went in with an open mind and I was very pleased. I figured this was the place to be brave and try new things. It was really awesome. I think Dh will probably try to get reservations for all 3 again. Please ask any specific questions you might have and I will try to have the answers for you :). Just asked DH...this is his order of favorites #1-Remy, #2-Palo dinner (although he said it could be a tie with the brunch) #3 Palo brunch. I would have to say the same...Palo is a different experience dinner vs. brunch...all I can say is YUMMMMMYYYY!

Well...I kinda like the idea of a quick meet on boarding day and a pic on Sunday. Now, I just thought of something- on our Mexican Riviera cruise our character breakfast was assigned for the first morning. I am assuming the Fantasy is also doing the character breakfasts, so we will have to be careful with picking a time if it is in the morning for a group pic. I would love it if someone would DISign a logo for our group, then we could all print out our own (for those of us who want to) and make matching shirts. Or make pins to wear.I am a Disney geek. :rotfl: We made iron-on shirts for a WDW trip once for our extended family and it was fun. I have seen some cute T-shirts on here that people designed for their group.

I am really open to whatever everyone decides regarding the meet.

Do we know how many are signed up for the FE exchange? I forget if I saw it somewhere.

Also, I have heard of people having something on facebook so we can see each others faces beforehand. That would make it easier to recognize everyone. Or my last group had it's own webpage to post pix. That was nice. I am not computer savy or else I would start that up myself.

whew...I am chatty tonight:rotfl2:

*Update: just saw the Fe list on post 320 (I believe). I can re-PM our info if needed. THX. We do have a room change!! That saved us 200.00 Yay

Well, I was still looking at 3pm so, we'll have the official photo on Sunday at 3pm.

I was interested in doing brunch at Palo, so I'm game for meeting up with others during that.

I'm going back to the world in Jan. Just a 5 day weekend in a one bedroom at BLT. I already have Chef Mickey's reservations on the Saturday to meet with my sister and kids.

I guess I missed that you were in a cast. I hope the next three weeks go by quickly for you.

S'okay. :goodvibes I didn't mention anything before. I don't have a "cool" story like snowboarding or getting back at a mouthy husband. :rotfl2: Typing and pain meds and cast hasn't been a great combo. :rotfl: WAY tttooo sssllloooowwwly has it been getting better.

We are doing Remy in Dec. we might do Palo on this one but not sure our DS will enjoy the Kids Club enough to let us have a nIght to ourselves. That's why we picked Remy for when he isn't with us. I was reading it is about a 3hr affair. I do know you do NOT have to do the wine pairing with Remy; that is its own separate charge. My DH doesn't drink and I do not drink that much to make it worth our $. I would be more than happy to share when we get back.

Thanks!! Now I won't have to feel guilty if I want to spend all day in the spa if he is with me.

Niki sent me the FE list and I don't see your info, so you probably should re-send. At last count I think there are 15 cabins participating.

We do have a facebook group already set up. If you would like to be added, send me a friend request and I'll add you to the list. I'm Jane Erin Wood - please tell give me your DIS board name so I know that you are "legit".

I wish I had the skills to create a logo. I was lucky on our last cruise that we had a group of people that were obsessed with getting some frozen Key Lime pie on a stick in Key West so we named ourselves the Key Lime Pie-rates, and then someone with artsy skills was able to put together a logo. Kyland suggested a goat themed logo, but I haven't been able to read the story to find out exactly the link from goat to disney. Maybe we could do some sort of play off the Dumbo or Minnie theme since they are the mascots for the ship. Any creative people out there?

Here are my suggestions:

Minnie's Fantastical Eastern Inagural Adventure!
Dumbo takes a Fantasy Flight to the Eastern Carribean

For any new folks that would like to introduce yourselves and get better acquainted check out the "Getting to know" questions on post #246.

Thanks for the Fb info! I will send a friend request to you. I will also re-send my info. I like the Dumbo idea!

Nikicares-I re-sent my info, please let me know if you didn't get it. THX
