Cruise Meet -April 21, 2012 - 7 Night Eastern Caribbean

How about "Fred The Goats Great Eastern Escape?"

or

"Fred the Goats Fabulous First Eastern Dream Cruise?

For those of you who don't know of Fred Thegoat I will provide more info tomorrow!

Another thing -- anyone looking forward to any of the inaugural merchandise that should be available? Sure it's not the maiden voyage, but it will be the first time the Fantasy will be doing the Eastern Caribbean route.

I'm going to be adding some extra funds or getting gift cards to put on my account.

Please...do tell...

My daughter will be 16 when we cruise as well... I gave her the email address, so hopefully she will email and introdruce herself :) Her name is Dani.

She did. At first she was confused when my daughter emailed her. Looks like they didnt get much of a conversation going yet!

I just had an idea -- for those that want to - a group photo in front of Mademoiselle Minnie Mouse statue in the lobby the day after we depart. What a way to commemorate the inaugural Eastern Caribbean cruise!

Great idea!! We'll be there.

Hi,
We were just on the Dream last week. DH and I picked up a Rainforest pass the day we embarked...right before the drill. It was soooo awesome and relaxing in there. I think even my DH enjoyed it. We did it on the Nassau day, we stayed on the ship. It wasn't busy in there at all. I didn't have a problem getting the pass at all. It was a total of 32.00 for the both of us. They can also be ordered on the website under gifts. I think you have to fax a form. It is definately worth the money.:cool1:

Thank you so much for the info. I'll have to check into the pre-order. Now here is a strange question - how tall is your husband? Jim is 6'3" so the top of the lounge on the Magic just reached his shoulders so he didn't like laying there for very long. I'll probably pre-order one pass and then once we get onboard have him test it out before we buy him a pass.

Dumbo is adorable, my younges was facinated with Dumbo for a year or so when he was 2, so he has a special place in my heart.

I havea day room reserved at the Hyatt MCO.

Since our flight out does not leave until late, its better to relax in a room than sit inthe terminal all that time.

$89 and well worth it when your flight does not leave till 5PM.

That sounds like a great plan. Will you be taking Disney transportation?

We normally rent a car and hit Downtown Disney for one last bit of shopping. In case there was something that I didn't get beforehand. Last time I got pretzels from Goofy's Candy Kitchen to bring home for the kids (YUMMO) and then stopped at Earl of Sandwich to grab sandwiches for the flight home. We normally try and catch flights around 3:00pm so we don't have to rush, but still get home at a decent hour.

I wish someone would post a review of our cabin. We've never been on the 2nd deck and I'm worried about the noise level from the 1st deck (and what might exactly be directly under us?)

I finally started reading my Passporters guide and I'm getting excited. Jim wants to do the galley tour. We may need to curtail any excursions due to budget constraints, but I'll be just as happy to sit on the ship and relax (in the Rainforest room of course).

Kyland - is it story time yet???:surfweb:

No, we are a family of 5 so Disney transportations does not make sense for us.

I also like to be at the port when I wasnt to be there, not when they want me to be.

I rented a minivan from Budget from MCO to the Port for 2 days at $90.00 plus taxes.

I think that DCL is $35 each so thats $175. We are coming in a day early to relax and spend the day in Cocoa Beach. Its easier that way considering our flight arrives at 5PM. Its always rush, rush, rush when we come in the night before.

I have a minivan for the trip back to MCO as well, but if I went to WDW, Id want to stay!

Ok, for the photo, looking at 3pm embarkation day, unless the majority think the day after is a better idea.

Further, I'm travelling alone, so if anyone has late seating and wants another person to jaw at during dinner, PM me, maybe we can link reservations for dining only.

Frank we are on main dining, otherwise we would take you up on that offer. We linked reservations with other DISers on our last cruise and it was a blast. From the FE List it looks like the people that gave dining seatings most everyone has late seating. We've always done the later seating and thought we would try the earlier seating so we could see the shows after dinner.

Anyone want to link up for main dining?

Jane

Hi All,

Wanted to check in to say Hi. We just back from our 2nd trip on Royal caribbean Oasis of the Seas. It is an awesome ship and the Fanstasy has a lot to live up too. If anyone has any questions about the Oasis let me know.

We haven't signed up for the FE as our DD will only be 3, actually one months shy, so we kind of think she is too young. If I'm wrong please let me know.

We are early dining as we want to make sure DD get her dinner and in bed early. We are open to getting together with others, so let us know.

We are in Tampa, so will be deriving over day of departure and using the new pier parking garage.

Thanks

Scott

Welcome back! Glad you had a great time.

I don't want to talk you into the FE group, but if your daughter likes opening getting surprises in the mail or opening her stocking on Christmas morning (if you celebrate it) then she will probably love the FE program. Heck, I'm WAY older than 3 and I get all excited when I get back to the cabin and find little gifts in our pouches.

On the previous trip that I was on we had everything from custom CDs of music, candy from hometowns, pirate themed toys, recipes for cruise type food, postcards from hometowns, glow sticks, pencils, highlighters, etc. I've seen pictures of amazing handmade gifts, but it really should just be as much or as little as you want to do.

In regards to the dining, I'd be willing to start a list of people that want to join up (both at main and second seating) and then closer to the cruise date we can call and request to be grouped together.

So far we have:

Main Dining
2_Eagle_Mom (2 adults)
ScottakaMickey (2 adults, 1 child - 3)
DMMarla07860 (2 adults)

Late Dining
Donald_Quackers (1 adult)

Hope everyone is doing well, I can't remember what sitting my dad and I have, I think we have main, but not sure.

Scott - No pressure or trying to talk you into anything either :goodvibes but I second Jane. If she likes the "surprise" gifts like the stocking or easter basket (again if celebrated) or even trick or treating, I would like to think she would have a grand time with the FE. Also without giving anything away I know I tried to think of something that the entire family could "use" and have as a way to remember the trip so it is not only for the kids.

Speaking of which I cannot WAIT to get out of this doggone cast so I can get back to working on my stuff. I have been away from it too long (and all things Disney actually:sad1:). I am actually missing my "FE" time. 3 more weeks to go! :woohoo:

We are on Main seating too with a DS 6.

Us Cheeseheads would even welcome a Flatlander to our table if you were on Main seating too Frank :lmao: We would also hold our IL acronym usage to a minimum too. :rolleyes1
