Cruise Meet -April 21, 2012 - 7 Night Eastern Caribbean

2 Eagle Mom, I love the bags you made. They are very adorable.

I booked a guarantee cabin. Does any one know approximately when Disney will assign those cabins?
Thanks,
Jenny

Question about Fantasy the cruise? NO real question, worried about our room location and size of pools. Concerned Joe will not be as excited & entertained as Chloe & I

I've been "fantasizing" about our cruise as well. I've been listening to any and all podcasts that talk about the Dream and trying to read trip reports for Eastern Carribeans or the 7 day Dream cruises. I just pre-ordered the new PassPorter Cruise guide (won't be out till August) but with a pre-order you get to download the book online so I've started reading that as well.

I jumped right to the excursions and I think we're going to try the one where you go underwater in a "dive helmet" type of gear. DH has never been able to enjoy snorkeling because he can't wear his glasses and his mustache make getting a good seal with the mask a difficulty.

I'm also SO looking forward to the spa and I'll be getting passes to the rainforest room for the entire week.

I bought the new passporter book too and can't wait for it to get here. I started reading the online copy, but had to stop myself so I have something left to read when the book gets here. Can't wait!

Our cruise is officially paid in full, one more thing to check off our list!!! Now if only Universal would have their hotel booking for the time after our cruise, we could work on that part of our trip LOL. Okay so here is a little info about our cruising party:

Name: Jacqueline (me), Barbara (my mom), & Jordan (my brother)
Age: 27, 47, 13 (ages at time of cruise)
From: Snohomish, WA - 30 minutes north of Seattle

Fav Disney Character(s): Eeyore, Tinkerbell, and my bro's is constantly changing

Profession: I'm a preschool teacher & nanny & student, my mom is a supervisor at a hotel & works at the Outback Steakhouse, and my brother will be in 7th grade

Hobbies: scrapbooking, taking pictures, planning vacations, the beach and sunshine, and my brother's sports! He plays ice hockey, soccer and lacrosse and our lives are planned around his sports and we love it!

Past Cruise history: 2007 Disney magic Western Cruise

Favorite Disney Rides: space mountain, indiana jones, tower of terror, soarin over california, california screamin'

Favorite Disney Treat: mickey bars

Favorite Disney song: too many to choose a favorite!

Favorite Disney Memory:
WDW- I think the first time going with my little brother when he was 3 years old because I don't remember what it was like when I went at that age. But seeing it through his eyes was like being a little kid again!
DL- the first time we went to California Adventure and my brother was 5 - he really wanted to go on california screamin and we knew his height was in question. So we put him in hightops and spiked his hair and he just made it, totla excitement and he loved it!
DCL- Walking onto the ship for the first time, really not knowing what to expect and then trying to take it all in over the next 7 days!

Question about Fantasy the cruise? is it April yet LOL?

Well, then, we just get them to congregate in one area and they can entertain themselves. They are adults, after all! Then we can go have our fun! :rotfl:
Either that or we make them part of the entertainment! Aren't they always asking for volunteers in the shows?

I like the idea of gathering them all together, but there is no chance my husband will volunteer for anything. Although he is a ham on the sidelines and was the entertainment with his antics for some passengers on our RCL cruise :rolleyes1 Then again we had friends with us for him to play off of.

I'm in need of a little Disney Fantasy today. To get some action on this thread (we can't just do the chatting on FB) I thought I'd post a question to everyone.

What is the FIRST thing that you will do once you board the Fantasy? (Besides look a the lobby/atrium with mouth wide open and squeal for joy?)

I'll be making a mad dash to the spa to purchase my pass to the Rainforest room. I heard on the PassPorter Mom's podcast that they only give out a small number of them so the rooms aren't crowded. I've been dreaming about those heated lounge chairs looking out over the ocean since I saw the pictures and I MUST be able to spend some quality time there.

So be careful if you board just before us. I'll be dumping my bags with Jim and high-tailing it to the spa! (to bad there isn't a running smiley).

I think I might join you, but someone might have to get the smelling salts after I faint when seeing the lobby.

If I don't get one, then I might just go for a round of mini golf!

The first thing I will do is drop my bags off in my cabin, if I can, get lunch, and then start taking lots of photos. I'm a confirmed shutterbug.

Has anybody been watching the Meyer Wreft shipyard web cam? It seems like the Fantasy is being built very quickly.

I've been watching it and have been excited watching the progress.

I'm also looking for inaugural merchandise to buy too.

I tried to find the link, but couldn't, could you post it here? I'd love to watch the building.

Hopefully I'll see you there! I'm going to have to be really carefull to keep my head down and dash to the spa. I can come back and look at the lobby after I get my pass.

I'm going to have to watch for you bowling everyone over rushing to the spa and just follow you along.

Thank you! I've bookmarked it so I won't have to ask again.:surfweb:

Maybe we can coordinate our boarding time so we can do a nice football blockade so we both get our passes before the rest of the hordes.

I haven't had much time to do research yet, but does anyone know how the "selecting" your boarding time is working? I've heard some podcasts but that was when the system was really new so I hope they've perfected it a little better. I have no problem setting my alarm so I can log in and get an early boarding time.

I'm not sure on the whole 'selecting' your time. Might be time to go to the trip reports section and read up.

with the new port opening time that will be starting it will be interesting to see. around December I'd say we would know a lot more about how things might work out for boarding times
