Thank you for the name tags, I was able to get them printed just now, they look great. I don't mean to be a pain but I had problems with my printer at home and couldn't get the first pictures you did for me to print...I am at work and I am trying to print them here but the link doesn't seem to exist any longer for them. Am I doint something wrong?

Jordak - I know you are crazy busy, but I was hoping there was some small chance you would be able to do this design, but with the name Fettermann?

I would greatly appreciate it!
Thank you in advance.
Jenn
sure, no problem

I don't know what the problem would have been, I just tried the links and they work for me. Your photos are all in my photobucket, in the REQUESTS album. You can always click on the link to my photobucket in the bottom of my signature, and get your photots straight from there. I can always post them in large size in a pm to you, so let me know if you got the link to work or need me to pm them to you. :)

Help PLEASE!!!

Ok, Today I went out and tried to look for those magnet sheets that have been talked about. I was under the impression that they were the size of a sheet of paper and you could put them in a printer and print the designs onto them. Well I couldn't find these and I looked at Michaels and JoAnne Fabrics. Is this all in my head???

I also bought a Laminator and when I laminate the paper, it curls. What am I doing wrong??? The machine gives no guidance in this department. Should I use Card Stock???

I REALLY want these to be nice and it is turning out to be a Cluster Muck!!!

Any help you could give me would be VERY welcome!!! (Even if just to tell me I'm an idiot!!)

As far as the paper is concerned, I found mine at office depot...or any office supply store, not any kind of hobby place. I dont think they would do anything like that. I dont know a thing about the lamination machine. Sorry

So you DID find the magnet sheets and they are the size of a sheet of paper AND they can be fed through a printer????

I AM NOT CRAZY!!!! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!! I NEVER thought about Office Depot!!! DARN!!!!

Yes, if you want to laminate your pix, you'll need to use card stock. The paper curls because it is so much thinner than the laminating material.

BTW, Wal-mart also carries the magnet sheets.

:thanks: :worship: This is AWESOME! If you are bored, I would love it if you could design something for our Panama Canal cruise ;) it's not until January.

I wish we could have met on the Nov 09 cruise. Our DD was napping when our fellow DISers had their meet so we missed meeting everyone. Maybe you can join us in our Nov 2011 Dream cruise!! :thumbsup2
Glad you like it. I have tried several times to make a Panama Canal design. End up deleting them because they are never that good. That is a really hard cruise to make something for but i will keep trying.

Here you go. I have one Dream cruise mostly done. Gonna stare at it for awhile before i post it just in case i want to make some changes. Plus i have one more idea i want to work on too.

Thank you Jordak! :flower3:

I can not wait to see what you've come up with. :dance3:

Yes, If you are going to laminate sheets, you should use cardstock. I do it that way and my cardstock does not curl. When I used the magnetic sheets, I had issues with the ink bleeding off and smudging when touched. I loved the laminated look much better, than the magnetic sheets. Others definately prefer the magnetic sheets. It's an individual thing. :)

Mine smudged too but it was the printer that smudged mine. I just printed off a color sheet of paper and then taped it to the magnet. I think it looks the same. Then you have more control and you save the magnetic paper. Since the printer makes you leave margins, you can fit them better on the paper.

I did find small 5 x 7 magnet paper but didn't try them in the printer as they looked to thick. I placed my picture on the magnet and then cut it out. I then used some kind of Acrylic spray to make them shinny, but that didn't turn out well either. It just made the paper wet and the black magnet part bleed through.

It looks like a TON of trial and error for me. NOW I am going to Laminate the picture and THEN place it on the magnet and cut it out. HOPEFULLY that will give me the look I am going for!!

Thanks everyone for your help!!

If your magnet sheet is thick and you are laminating the graphics, what I did was just cut a large square of the magnet sheet and stick it on the back of the laminated graphic. This way, I wasted no portion of the magnet. For larger graphics, I cut several large squares of magnet sheets, and applied them to the four corners and center on the back of my laminated graphic. :)
