Cruise Lines Call For CDC To Change Covid Testing Policy

would make it sooo much easier to lose the testing! here's hoping before September!

Sure, but then the cruise ship won't be able to go anywhere. Just about every port seems to require that everyone is vaccinated and tested. I don't see that changing any time soon, regardless of what the CDC does.
That is not true. Very few countries require a vaccine or a test anymore

Viking have already dropped their requirements but I feel DCL will be one of the last to drop testing. Completely agree with all the points on here and my biggest worry now is because travel testing is ending for one of the last big players, the actual testing options are going to be restrictive too as companies wind down due to lack of business. I personally feel DCL at port testing will become the only option for some people
If Viking can drop everything than how is it a CDC requirement?

I don’t see them dropping vaccination requirements - it’s the biggest tool in their tool bag to continue to do business.
It's also keeping them from selling out ships. Eventually, all this will go away cruise ships are just the last to drop everything.

It will drop. We moved our cruise from August to May and fully expect to be able to cruise in May.

I expect you will too. I also expect demand to drop even more as we enter a bad recession. It won't be long until filling my tank costs as much as one day ticket to WDW...fun times. :sad2:

I would not object to testing requirements going away, as long as the cruise lines are still able to staff appropriately.

Testing will drop much sooner than vaccines I think. Crossing my fingers that testing does drop before our August cruise although I doubt it. My husband just had a virus and I was almost disappointed that it wasn’t covid (since he was sick anyway) because a 90 day recovery letter gives us a little more certainty.

I think what will happen before vaccines go altogether is that cruises will give the unvaccinated an option to be tested to get onboard similar to what is done for kids under 5.

Demand is going to drop come fall. This summer is likely to be the end of the revenge travel. I know so many that are already starting to cut back. Everything is costing so much more it’s nuts.
