My mom is going on a cruise next year and I'm doing the research(in exchange for a Buffy season set:) ).Which lines are good for the carrabien(that sail from Port Carnavial)

Royal Carribean has a ship that sails from Cape Canaveral. We have sailed on a variety of lines, but prefer Royal Carribean...next to DCL of course!

Disney sails from there. We went on a Magic cruise in '01 and liked it so much we are going again next spring.

Come on over to the Cruise Board, we have LOTS of folks who can help, even with non-Disney cruises. :)

It really depends on what you're looking for: Lifestyle (young and active/ older and elegant?), affordability, family friendliness, length of cruise (3 nights/ 7 night/ 10 or more nights?), ports of call...

I found the following ships sailing from Port Canaveral:
Carnival Glory (7 day)
Carnival Pride (7 day)
Carnival Fantasy (3/4 day)
Disney Wonder (3/4 day)
Disney Magic (7 day)
Norwegian Dawn (7 day)
Holland America Zaandam (7 day)
Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas (7 day)
Royal Caribbean Sovereign of the Seas (3 day)

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades) and Miami are more active ports, and will have lots more selection.

There are a number of cruise specific sites on the net where you can read cruise reviews, and ratings of everything from quality of food to entertainment to shore excursions to housekeeping onboard... you might try Cruise Critics, Cruise@ddicts, CruiseMates.

For pricing, try Travelocity.com, YahooTravel.com, Cruise.com, vacationstogo.com, cruisequick.com, the specific cruise line websites...

The folks on the DIS's Disney Cruise Line Forum would probably be lots of help, too.

I know for a lot of information on other cruise lines I go to Cruisemates.

If she is planning on going in March or April of next year Carnival has a new ship sailing out of Jacksonville, but only for those 2 months. The name of the ship is the Miracle, but it is a 6 day western cruise. We are booked on the April 17th sailing and we are getting an awesome price of 768.00 each including all taxes and port charges, that is for a balcony room and an iside room is 718.00 and the inside is 668.00 so i think that is awesome prices.
