OK, I know I am still almost a year off from our cruise. But hers the thing, I have been noticing that you do not get you documents for about a week or 2 before your cruise date. We are going to be travling like 14 days before. We are driving, we have to make a stop in VA to drop kids off and get them settled at Grandma's house before we even travle down to Port. What do I do? DO I tell my TA , can they request that we get our papers earlier? I am a bit concerned about not getting them in the course of my travles to port.

YOu should get your docs about a month out, so it shouldn't be a problem. At 3 weeks out, if you haven't received your docs, give your travel agent a call or DCL.

we booked through cruise.com and were told at time of booking that we would get our docs 2 weeks out from sailing date. DCL sends docs to them, they do something with them, and don't send them out until just prior to 2 weeks before sail date. All other Dis'ers posting on our July 26 thread got their docs at least 4 weeks ahead, but, sure enough, we got ours just 15 days before sailing. I was worrying a bit as we are leaving home 4 days prior to our cruise.

I would talk to my TA if I were you, as leaving 14 days before your cruise could pose a problem. I'm sure they would have a solution for you, probably sending them to a different location, where you will be prior to cruise. HTH.

I did not know I could send them to a different location other then my house. I could have them sent to my Mom's house as that is where we will be untill about 4 days before the cruise. Thanks for your help.

Don't count on receiving your docs 1 month out. On our other 3 cruises we received our docs 5-6 weeks out. We are sailing on 8/9 and still have not received, and we leave 1 week prior to our cruise. So the times do vary, I read that people are receiving docs for cruises 2 weeks after ours. I did contact DU, not lost, just have not been sent.

Definitely tell your TA that you are leaving 14 days prior to sailing, because she can call DCL and let them know to flag it. Docs can arrive anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks prior to sailing, but you need to let them know you will have to have them before that.

Hope that helps.
