Beyond the argument that it is not cost effective to use DVC for the cruise, I have a question. We hope to cruise in Dec of 2004 or 2005 and we hope to take the cruise over Christmas. We want a category 4 and I can see that those rooms are sold out for the Christmas cruises this year. I am wondering if these rooms will be sold out by the time the points calendars come out for these years. Does anyone have any experience with this? Another thought is that we book the cruise using cash then cancel that room and rebook the same room using points. Would this work? I know that I could rent my points and pay for the cruise, but I have never done this before and would be quite nervous doing it.
