I am planning to take my daughter and mother to Disneyland and a cruise from Los Angeles. My mom will be in her ECV. This is our first time traveling with her since she started using it. Is there a shuttle service that can transport to both locations from LAX. Thank you.

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

You may be able to get a response here. However, I am also copying this post to both the Transportation and DisneyLand Forums, as they might be better able to assist you with the answers.

I do not know of a shuttle like Magical Express out here. You could call Super Shuttle and they will transport you from the port to DLR and then to the airport. There are other shuttle companies out here and I know that most or all do offer disabled van service.

Mom can gate check her ECV at the airport at home and it will be waiting for her at the boarding gate when she disembarks the plane. There are wheelchairs available and they can have her transfer to an aisle chair and wheel her right to her seat. Take with you on the plane anything that could get lost like the basket. Anything medical like the basket, medicines, and medical supplies do not count as luggage. Just tell the employee at the boarding gate and they will board you first.

Usually she will have to wait when getting off for the ECV unless she prefers to take the aisle chair or walk out and then a wheelchair to exit the plane first as sometimes a lady needs to leave the plane for personal reasons. If so then tell the stewards.

I like LAX as I only use that one so have no opinion on which is better though rumor is that John Wayne Airport is more expensive.

You might also want to contact the cruise line to see if they offer transfers on a lift bus or could give you info on accessible transportation. You can always do a google search of accessible transportation from LAX to the port and see what shows up. If she is eligible for door to door public accessible transportation then it's reciprocal everywhere in the US. She could then call the LA public transportation # and schedule a trip- she just needs to provide her eligibility card. I did this when I flew into LAS and needed to get to my Mom's assisted living facility for a visit. There was no other lift vehicle transportation from the airport to anywhere but the strip hotels.---Kathy
